 big W the shop with heart

I was recently shopping at big W Dapto and feeling unwell. The staff offered to get me a chair and a glass of water. The girls went and got more trolley and we and they helped me placing my purchases into the trolley and reaching up for a few things that I couldn’t reach They asked me if I needed help to push the trolley cashier and just lovely even told me where I could get something similar on the reduced track because I said I wanted to 2 of the items

Delivery Times Appalling
Three days after I ordered something small, and available in stock, I ordered shoes from a small Australian business, that custom makes women's size 15 shoes post order.
The shoes are here. My BigW parcel is not. The shoes were posted, while you were still picking. I can see the BigW parcel is now on its way, but honestly! It's not Aussie Post either. Once it landed in their hands, it got from your airport to mine in one business day, and it's expected to be delivered tomorrow.

It Is a Scam Online Shopping

What a disappointing experience. The product sizing was completely off, and when I tried to return it, I was met with delays, excuses, and finally a refusal. I didn’t damage or use the item—it simply didn’t fit. Yet they refused to take it back or offer any real solution. This kind of rigid and unreasonable policy feels like a scam. I will never shop here again.

A Scam Online Shopping

I ordered a pair of shoes in my usual size, but what I received was far too tight. I contacted customer service expecting a simple return or exchange, but after weeks of back and forth, they flat-out refused. They clearly don't care about customer satisfaction and hide behind vague policies. This is not how an honest company behaves. Avoid this site—there are far better, more trustworthy retailers out there.

Untrustworthy online shopping company. Some items are from the store and others are from Marketplace. Buyer Beware. This is BIG difference. Shouldn’t be. After all you are shopping on the BigW site should be all the same in terms of service and support. It’s 100% not. Marketplace is complete dodgy. Perhaps you will be lucky if everything is ok with the item. But if not then don’t think that buying from BigW will in any way help. You think your inquiry will be handled by BigW staff? No. You’re out in the cold dealing with some rando seller who you didn’t know you were buying off. If you want the eBay experience do yourself a favour and shop there. Buy from a seller that has a rating and details so you can make an informed choice. Shame on BigW.

Late Delivery and damage floor board

Late Delivery and damage floor board.

Promised a delivery of 3-5 days and ended up with a 10 days delivery. The delivery damaged the floorboard and the delivery company and Big W all denied responsibility despite I raise the concern immediately. Only pointed the responsibility to the customer that the delivery does not include delivery inside the property. It is a a 25kg plus running machine cost $85 delivery fee and expected to be just left at the front door?

Sweet merciful heaven. I could have pushed up daisies faster than an order is processed. I order 9.00 am and maybe just maybe l will get the order after 4.00 pm. What is the point of such a crap service. I have better things to do with my time, like l don’t know getting teeth pulled without anaesthesia

They don't send pre-orders until 2-3 business days AFTER launch day as confirmed by their staff.

Never EVER pre-order anything from BigW, Just go to EBGames, at least you'll get your pre-order day and date, even if it's $3 more expensive.

Great service! 👏

Since moving to the Frankston, Vic area, I have bought several products online from Big W since 2023. This included two books, two electric blankets and more recently a new wheelbarrow wheel via a Marketplace supplier. All have arrived in a timely manner and undamaged. Fantastic service!

Pathetic. My complaint of s****l harassment at the Woolworths Group (Big W Geelong) (2021) went unheard despite numerous complaints to company and Worksafe Victoria. Reported to Victoria Police (Victoria Police, Geelong) and Fair Work Ombudsmen. Deal with this. I'm contacting the media since it has been months to no avail. Disgusting. I contacted WORKSAFE VICTORIA about this. MY WORKCOVER CLAIM WILL BE DESPUTED. WORKSAFE VICTORIA DID NOT INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINT AND VICTORIA POLICE DID NOT DEAL WITH THIS. EACH WILL WILL BE NOTED IN FURTHER COMPLAINTS. Dirty.

Carnes Hill Store 10am Wednesday. The menswear department was a mess! When I reported it to the customer service desk at the rear of the store the response was "It's the customers who do it" Well, we need to get rid of those pesky customers! As for the checkouts; a queue for the self service checkouts because all the manned checkouts were shut.
Postscript:Does Woolworths managemant ever read these reviews? I doubt it

Fitting rooms far from satisfactory…

Visited Big W Maroochydore today I haven’t been in this particular store since mid last year… Found a few reasonably priced ladies jeans & few items of men’s wear (for my son)
Ducked into the fitting room… what a disgrace, no stools in any of the 3 ladies rooms… no hooks to hang your own garments or the new items you may intend to purchase…it appears they had been ripped out or weren’t able to support clothing…& they never bothered to fit the rooms with new hooks… .just the holes in the wall… the floors were totally filthy filled with dust balls & very grubby…
I went into all 3 find a little stool to rest my own belongings…None….
So dumped the cream & the black jeans on the floor…I folded my pants & placed them on my hand bag (which wasn’t big enough to cover)
A staff member could easily use a dustpan & brush & give them a clean… & how much would 3 stools cost…hands in your pocket Big W…lot of competition out there…

The worst customer service

I don't know why, but until today, I have had an excellent impression of BigW.

Today I experienced their terrible customer service... I wanted to buy a sale item (iPhone) from their website, the sale popped up around 1 am on a Wednesday on my Google Shopping. Since it was late, I held off and wanted to buy the item first thing in the morning, only to learn the sale had ended.

I contacted support, and the first agent (Amanda) told me the sale had ended at 23:59 the previous day. I told them that I saw the sale at 1 am the same day. They repeated that the sale had ended at 23:59 the previous day, wished me a great day and disconnected the chat.

I reconnected, talked to a second agent, who was more professional but equally unwilling to help. They sent through some T&CS on sale items, and repeated that the sale had ended at 23:59 the previous day. I asked about the option to escalate the issue, because there seemed to be a mismatch between what their system shows and what has actually happened in their online shop and ad environment. I was told to put that into the feedback form when rating the chat.

Like for real? BigW is a big company; would it have hurt them to just give me the deal? Even if not, this issue could've been handled differently. Just listen to your customer, acknowledge their experience and tell them you'll pass it on and say "sorry that I can not resolve this right now". Happy End. I found the unwillingness to help and the rudeness of the BigW online service catastrophic. Completely changed my perception of the brand and will avoid at all cost.
