Really good company

I would highly recommend this company to anyone. My experience with them was a good one and they were very helpful.

The price for a start is significantly cheaper than most dealers whether in-store or online. "Where's the catch?", I wondered.

I ordered my bike and a week later it arrived. I assembled the bike and it was huge. I hadn't owned a bike in over a decade and I had little idea what size I needed. I had hastily ordered the wrong size.

I E-mailed bikes2udirect, who responded very quickly, asking only whether I had ridden the bike outside. I explained that I hadn't and they said were happy for me to return the bike. They recommended a courier who had a flat rate for bikes and also openly stated that sometimes they do knock 5-10% off refunds should the bike be damaged by your assembly, fair enough.

I booked the return and when it arrived back they called me and told me they were happy with it and sent out a replacement bike which I had requested.

There is no catch, seemingly, they order bikes in bulk and you get the savings.

Good service - wish they had stores!

I ordered a Dawes Duchess bicycle as it was significantly cheaper on this site than others. I don't recall seeing on the purchase page that the bike would arrive in pieces and needed to be fully assembled but this could be my nativity!
It also said on the box that my bike wouldn't be covered under warrenty if not assembled professionally so that was a shame. I ended up paying Evans Cycles to build it for me so I could get a formal receipt to use for warrenty!
I also ordered the wrong colour which was completely my fault - when I rang they were very helpful and suggested I get a courier to return at about £20-30.
This would be the only issue when ordering from them so select your option carefully!
Finally, I couldn't find the frame number so contacted the team and they very helpfully got back to me with a diagram and additional safety suggestions.
All in all, a lot of hassle because of me rushing when ordering which would have been easier if purchased from a local store. That said, the price tag makes it worth it!

Excellent customer service

Bike delivered quickly. We assembled it some weeks later on Xmas eve to discover bend in rear wheel. Contacted company who quickly responded to suggest a wheel true at our local bike shop which they would pay for. Following this, the bike shop recommended a new wheel. I contacted customer service and they immediately dispatched a new wheel, no quibbles and paid the cost of wheel true. Excellent customer service

It's the small things that mean the most

Having read the previous comments I feel better that I am not been too harsh - my expectations were not high in the first place, but even based on that low bar I have been very disappointed in the level of response from the company over an issue that others have also raised - the truing of wheels.
Having received two bikes , both with very wonky wheels I tried
e-mailing the company , then eventually got through to Ben - I was willing to work with them at a busy time and have the wheels repaired locally at their cost, this was agreed and a recommendation to go to a local bike shop rather than Halfords - I did , was charged £18 for each wheel and let Ben know - he refused to pay the full amount and offered £13 only each - the difference is small , just £10 pound but symptomatic of an arrogance that when I complained about getting the refund as part of the warranty got this:
" I cannot recover costs as this issue is not deemed a manufacturing fault. Wheel trueing can be considered part of proper bicycle assembly but we of course do not expect customers to do this themselves, so as a goodwill gesture, we offer to either contribute the average cost of doing so or collect the wheels(s) and perform the work here."
Well if the goods arrive in a poor state who's is responsible for them?

I would not recommend this company to anyone I know because of the unscrupulous way it treats customers - not just me from this forum it is clear there are many - if you got good service I think you were lucky, and if you want to complain further beware !
Ben is "in fact the general manager in charge of daily operations. There is no one senior to me other than the sleeping directors who do not involve themselves in customer service / complaints as they employ myself to manage these affairs."

Great service

Just purchased a viking Vitesse ladies bike for my daughter. The ordering process was easy and delivery was within 24hrs as promised. Unfortunately when it came to assembling the bike I found that the front wheel had been damaged and was well out of true. I contacted bikes2udirect and I was advised to see if I could get I repaired locally and they would reimburse me. This proved impossible as the damage was too much and on contacting them again they promised a new front wheel within 24hrs which again was delivered as promised. The after sales service was excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Helpful staff when contacted

I do not review very often but felt compelled to do so when I read some of the negative comments left by others.
I bought a bike for my sons xmas present in September but when it came to building it ready there was a clear manufacturing fault with the frame.
I sent an email and rang a few times at the times instructed, but there was a constant engaged tone, I took to Google and found these reviews.
The latest few reviews had me panicking, I thought I would be left high and dry with no come back and a useless bike.
I rang back again, not expecting an answer, however the call was answered by Ben who listened to my issues with the bike and arranged a collection and return and refunded me as I asked.
Please be patient when calling this company before assuming you may have been ripped off. I am pleased I gave them the opportunity sort out the issues I had the the bike I bought from them, I thank them for doing so.

Misleading web-site & ignorant staff

Web-site clearly states 'delivery within UK £9.99'. When you go to place order and key in post-code delivery charge changes to £19.99. I do live in Northern Ireland which is 100% within UK.
When spoke to customer services the only response was 'you can take it or leave it its only a quote'. When I indicated the web-site is misleading the only response was 'yes it might be I suppose it is'. Not the most helpful, supportive responses.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS

I am utterly disgusted by the way they have handled our order and their failure to communicate. They despatched our order using their courier service Yodel who have failed to deliver the bike numerous times. Upon trying to contact Bike2U Direct by phone which are only open between 2-5pm mon-fri we got the same message stating these opening times. We have sent lots of emails and recieved very little response. In fact we thought they had closed down early for the xmas period. Basically I feel like they have used the cheapest poorest quality courier service for their own benefit and have washed their hands of us as soon as they order left their premesis. And we still have no bike for our daughter 20 days later. Shocking, disgusting, the poorest customer service I have ever encountered and they should not be allowed to trade. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Don't be lured in with the cheap prices

This company were by far the cheapest online, for the bike I wanted. Despite the bad reviews I thought I'd gamble and order with them. 1 week after placing the order I get a phone call to say that they can't deliver the bike as the main supplier didn't have them in stock. If this had have been done a day or 2 after ordering I wouldn't be complaining. If somethings too good to be true, it probably is......

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Please please take advice from this and the other reviews warning you off this company. I ordered a bike from my son, I had an email to confirm my order then heard nothing. Having not received an email updating me of the delivery if the bike, I tried to ring the company- which you can only do between 2 & 5 pm weekdays. Even when I did ring between these times, I got the same message saying ring between 2&5 weekdays!! I have sent 3 emails, to which NONE have been responded to. I have now cancelled the order and ordered a bike from Halfords instead. Absolutely NO customer service. Would definitely NOT recommend- pay a little more and get a bike already built from somewhere else.

Avoid when possible

I bought it because they were more competitive but the only thing I received was a helmet 1 week later. If you try to call them, don't bother as it is a waste of time and the line gets cut off before you can speak to anybody. They say they work based on emails but do not respond to those either so it looks either like a proper scam to me or a very unprofessional company. Either way I am not interested in finding out so have asked my credit card to cancel the payment to them since.

Cheap prices ... but you'll end up paying more in the end!

Yes the prices are good, and delivery is quick (although you have to pay an extra £10 for this) ... but you'll end up putting the bike together with no help or instructions. In my case I had to pay a local bike shop to make the bike road worthy.

The bike arrived with no instructions or the necessary tools that were required to put it together. It needed a variety of allen keys and a pedal spanner to put the bike together, none of which are provided. When I asked for help I was directed to some online videos that were useful, but didn't help solve the problem of the brakes not working properly. I ended up taking it to a bike shop and they said the cable was faulty as it had lost its tension and the brake pads were not adequate. This cost me £28 to fix. The next day the pedal fell off and I had another long walk to the bike shop to pay another £18 to get them to fix that.

Overall, I'd say it's much better to deal with a local shope that can help you - buying a bike from here by mail order just leads to problems.

Fabulous fast delivery

As usual I had left ordering a present until the last minute. Looking through the website I spotted a bike my son had admired but was too expensive at £499 on amazon , on Bikes2u it was on offer for £199 ! I ordered it at 2:30pm on wednesday afternoon and it was delivered at 9 am Thursday morning. How about that for service. Top marks Bikes2udirect

Top Quality

Over the years we have had 5 bikes from them, and never a problem. Even when a bike my boy wanted went out of stock they found one!
The only problem I've ever had is a new bike with a slow puncture from the start, which I've even had on shop bought bikes.
Fast delivery, but you must remember the bike only comes part built.

would not go anywhere else.

Swift delivery of good quality bike.

I ordered a Viking Downtown bicycle for my wife and also ordered a Raleigh Delirium for me - both @ what I would class as knock-down prices. Unfortunately, the Raleigh for me was out-of-stock and I was informed by Bikes2udirect of this promptly. The Viking bicycle for my wife arrived within a couple of days of ordering and was in good condition. The assembly book supplied wasn't the one for the bike but we managed to put it together without this. My wife contacted Bikes2udirect the following day and they forwarded the appropriate manual by e-mail immediately. Having read some of the derogatory reviews with regard to this company I don't know if we were lucky but I have no complaints and would recommend them based on my own experience. My wife is very happy with her bike.

Genuine bike at great price and quick delivery

My son is over the moon with his new BMX. Arrived Sat pm, 2 days after ordering. Fitted together easy, bolts and brakes checked, tires pumped up fine. Only a small paint chip at the bottom on the forks. Price was good as it's an older model but a good spec for this.

I bought 2 bicycles over the last 2 weeks and both orders were delivered quickly. Bikes were in a condition to easily assemble straight out the box. The customer care was quick to response to help too. I'm very happy and recommend bikes2udirect.
