Hi Andrea, We apologise once again that there was a hole in the jumper received. The first we knew of this was when the jumper was returned to us and I believe my colleague has been in touch with you regarding this matter which I hope has made up somewhat for the inconvenience. Best Wishes, Biscuit X

Mixed bag

I ordered from Biscuit online after finding out that their Thistle Street shop had closed on a recent trip to Edinburgh, though it’s still listed on the website. I can’t fault their service at all and my order was shipped quickly.
I am a bit disappointed with the quality of a Project AJ117 jumper that I bought however, it has bobbled after one wear. I’m not sure if this is an anomaly as I have bought other items from this brand that I absolutely love.

Hi Lindsey, many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and I am sorry to hear you weren't 100% satisfied overall with your purchase. We removed Thistle Street as a location on our website when we closed, however we believe there was a delay in google removing our business listing from their search engine so I am sorry for any confusion there. Regarding the pilling of your item, we are sorry to hear that this is the case however, as I am sure you are aware, this is an inescapable characteristic of many types of wool. It has nothing to do with quality or price of the garment, simply the abrasion that happens when worn. The more wooly or hairy the fabric, the shorter the fibre etc the more the fabric is likely to pill. Having said that, we of course understand the frustration of this on a newly purchased jumper and will of course pass your feedback on to the brand whom you have obviously purchased from previously!

I feel unfairly treated by Biscuit.

I feel unfairly treated by Biscuit.

I recently purchased a £200 blouse which arrived folded may times until it was small and compact enough to fit into an A5 envelope leaving it in a very creased and a dishevelled, unwearable state. I really believe at this price the blouse should have arrived in pristine condition. Cramming it into a small envelope then expecting the customer to first not be massively disappointed then to have to rectify the problem is disrespectful to both customer and product. This experience has not only caused me cost and inconvenience but has shattered my confidence in the care of products and service offered by Biscuit.

The blouse looked shabby and unwearable and when I wrote to customer services I was told that the blouse could be ironed. I’d already read the wash label and as I had pointed out to customer service, the delicate viscose fabric looked as if ironing may ruin the fine plisse ridges of the fabric. Not a risk I was willing to take nor should I have to do this. I appreciate that there will be some minor creasing when receiving shipped clothing but a full-scale rescue of the item should not be up to the customer and certainly not at this price.

My request for Biscuit to cover the cost of return as a gesture of goodwill was turned down telling me that they are a small independent business. It is reasonable to expect a business, however large or small, to refund the postage for an unwearable item. I ended up a total of £14.20 out of pocket (£10 for delivery + £4.20 for return)

Hi Nicola,

As per our previous correspondence, we can only apologise that the blouse arrived creased to you. As explained, we do pack our orders in recycled mailing bags which are then placed into sacks for Royal Mail before being transported. Creasing in clothing can occur when folded and then transported -particularly with delicate garments of the fabric composition chosen. As stated in our previous email, we agree that the imagery provided did show this creasing.

We understand that you didn't want to risk the fabric and that you felt that this may ruin the garment however as we explained, this is in direct contrast with the manufacturers care instructions which clearly state that after washing, the garment is to be ironed on a cool setting. Unfortunately we cannot accept that a garment is faulty because of an unwillingness to accept the care instructions on the garment.

As a small business we do not cover the cost of any return - unless faulty - nor your initial charge for postage. This item did not meet this criteria which is why we were unable to refund the return cost or the £10 you paid for postage by opting for a next day delivery.

We are very sorry if you feel that this situation has shattered your confidence in us - this is never our intention. We adhere to the policies we have in place and treat every customer the same so I can only apologise that you feel you have been treated unfairly - this certainly hasn't been the case nor our intention.

First Biscuit order

Thank you Biscuit for my belt and lovely jumper. They arrived very promptly and I was notified that they would be arriving separately. They both came a day apart and I have been wearing the belt ever since! Lovely quality and you stick a lot of my favourite brands so I’m sure I will be back .
