This is legit the worst and most dangerous crypto platform to use. They will freeze your funds. Usually only a lawyer will be able to get them unlocked. I don't know if it's absolute incompetence or something else. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Kraken is reliable and despite being in the US in Europe they provide instant payment. They ask for your kyc once it's always a bit slow but then you are good. Nothing compared to this nightmare.

BE CAREFUL before you sign up with them... Very concerning experience with Bitstamp.

I’ve been fully verified since 2022, but since 2025 I’ve had repeated issues withdrawing my funds. Despite providing all requested documents, my account is still restricted with no clear timeline.

Support is slow and gives generic, inconsistent responses.

onboarding is a nightmare. they request much more then every other sane crypto exchange and decline you for no reason.
based on all the reviews here, I am happy that 1 star is the minimum, because their crazy onboarding process prevented me from having an account there just to see my funds stuck in the next place.

Bitstamp is big scam platform I invested about 10k$ and nothing withdraw I have there about 3,7 BTC and platform not want paying withaut I no pay synchronisation 15000£ deposit. But when I request for refund my money without profit that they want be I pay upfront about 300$ that no withdrawal because I no pay any money more to this platform. No invest any money if you no want lose like me ok 😕👎😡😡😡

how is this company in business. it's crazy they have an ACH monthly deposit limit of $3000, so if you want to deposit more, you have to use wire transfers, but not many banks allow large wire transfers to a crypto business. how stupid is it to limit ACH deposits at just $3000 month. had I known this I would've never signed up. Bitstamp brags about the "safety of its customers", yet it assumes their customers are criminals

I’m very disappointed in Bitstamps customer service. They are slow to respond for emails and would not lift the crypto restrictions on my account, after a video call and several weeks of purposeful delay. I closed my account and am warning others. Don’t put your money here if you want to use it anytime soon. They hold it hostage while they keep putting you off longer and longer, no matter how many times you ask for your review to be expedited. It’s VERY frustrating!

Please Dont Use This Site, Freezing accounts with no reason and stole money even when all information is provided.

I won’t recommend this platform to anyone they blocked my withdrawals my account is verified and the customer support is telling me that they checking my information for reasons I don’t understand STAY AWAY!!!!!
I refused to let them go away with my money filed a complaint and got everything back within few days…………….Don’t be shy to seek help

The company has blocked my account 3 times in the past 2 months, for weeks at a time, whilst BTC was up.
bitstamp used to be okay, since Hacked company robinhood have bought it, they are now criminal!!
withholding crypto, when they feel like it.
(So they can trade it?, yes they can make money, whilst my funds are blocked)

They have hidden charges and add-on fees they charged to my credit card after having made a PayPal purchase. When I tried to get money out of my account they told me I needed proof of the source of the payment for bitcon. I provided with with bank details and my employment history. Now they're saying it's illegal to make payments to or from any wallet and are holding my savings.

I've been waiting for weeks for a solution from support regarding a fraudulent withdrawal from my account. A hacker managed to access my account and withdrew over 1,300 euros. I followed all the recommended steps, and now that I'm asking for a solution to the lost money, I've received no response.

Im waiting more then 25 days to they fix email issue which is probably intentionally made to stop withdraw from sone reason known only to them. My email works fine but Im not reciving confirmation mail from them. When I tried to send mail to their support I received rejection note. Support is very slow and answer every 2 days with the same explanation. Im really disappointed with this platform and I think they are scam. Withdraw is the right test for every trading platform. This one is for penalty

The two factor authentification code is correct yet they claim it is false , and when i try to reset it they give me an invalid link

My withdrawals are locked with no reason for a month, and support is not doing anything. I have been a client for 8 years.

I have a significant sum in BTC on their platform. I had not traded for some months, and logged in to transfer some crypto to my hardware wallet. Then I discovered withdrawals were locked for no reason.

Customer support tells me to book a video appointment. There are no slots available. The don't reply any more. I look for appointment every day for several weeks, until I finally manage to get one.

After the video call, which essentially asked if I know that withdrawals are permanent, they promised that withdrawals will be enabled within 24 to 48 hours. This was over a week ago, and they don't respond to me anymore.

I have filed a formal complaint at complaints at bitstamp.net. They’re obliged by regulations to address formal complaints within 30 days. When the time is full, since they have NOT solved my issue, I will escalate it to the relevant financial regulatory authority.

Very terrible service, it was not bad enough that it takes so long for me to get my crypto but they started sending me errors and then banned my accoun, I had to report to Rose Lane GP

Deciding to use this exchange was the worst decision of my life. They are intrusive in regards to the information they request, they lock your account without giving an explanation, they limit access to your funds. There’s no other explanation: they must be attempting to scam people, and if they’re not, it surely looks like it. Their lack of concern for customers questions is staggering. Customer support over the phone gives the same answer every time: we cannot do anything, the issue has been moved on to the competent department (which you cannot talk to).
Some of them are rude and argumentative over the phone. They want your assets frozen, hopefully they’re not making money off of it (which wouldn’t surprise me).

Update: they have closed my account with no explanation whatsoever. IT IS LITERALLY THE WORST EXCHANGE THAT THERE IS OUT THERE. DO NOT PUT ONE CENT INTO THIS. YOU’LL COME OUT LOSING.
