Great Customer Service

Cannot give enough praise to Chaim and Chris who were outstanding with their customer service, their patience and their knowledge. My husband and I are not the most computer savvy but they were both helpful and knowledgeable. Our BlackVue needs to be sent back for repair so this review is based on the lead up to the return for service. BlackVue please note these employees are a credit to your company.

If I could give this company a ZERO…

If I could give this company a ZERO rating I would!!! Buyer beware!!! As stated by others in the reviews, customer service with this company SUCKS!! I received my DR970X 2CH with LTE on April 29, 2023. I’ve had nothing but problems since!!!

One of the major reasons I went with BlackVue was the ability to see my car when I’m away from it as long as there is 4G LTE service, well, needless to say it’s unreliable. The camera constantly disconnects and reconnects with the cloud. I’ve been on the phone and sent emails to BlackVue but have not gotten a resolution to the problem. This company touts itself as the best in the industry. It’s a lie!!! For what they charge for the camera, you would think it would be stable and reliable. It is NOT. If you buy from this company you’ll be frustrated, pissed and your blood pressure will rise.

Consider yourself warned! DO NOT BUY BLACKVUE!! You’ll be sorry! I’ll be returning my camera and looking for another company.

Horrible (Non-Existent) Customer Service.

The camera was in my car for a year and worked fine. Blackvue updated their iPhone app app and I cannot get it to work. I was on with tech support three times and thy have not been able to help me. I started calling them on Friday. I have called seven times (on hold for over one hour total) and they did not answer. Recording says "wait time six minutes." Six minutes comes and goes and no luck. These people are horrible. Customer service is lousy.

Can go days without recording and loves…

Can go days without recording and loves to be reset all the time every time you want to play something back it can take an age for app to connect then you probably have to re pair it again. Most of the time the footage is not there in park mode it seems to record and tells you every time there has been an impact overall a waste of time better off buying a cheap one from China which it probably is then just re branded to sum expensive poor software shocking app steer clear of this one

I can’t believe the amount of one…

I can’t believe the amount of one STARS…… my unit was working very good for two years, sent it for repair recently to Lanark ( Really helpful team) got it back, however, guess what can’t connect to the app tried several times with no result….come on Black Vue sort the issue out, we are your customers after all.

Spent £350 on a front+rear camera inc…

Spent £350 on a front+rear camera inc fitting. 54wks after purchase our car was hit by unknown driver at the rear. When checking the recording we found it hadn't been recording at the rear. We contacted Halfords and Blackvue and both informed us as it was just over a year old they would not replace or assist. Even said the fault was due to damp in the car. Year of car is 2021 so no damp!! just a sore excuse for poor quality equipment
Don't waste your hard earned money!!

Latest app update March 2023

Need to give the recently updated app zero stars but that option not available. Old app version worked perfectly well, this new version is terrible, can't connect to camera via WiFi, your lucky if it connects to live view via cloud and I'm not interested in watching someone drive in Hong Kong. For God's sake ditch this new version or provide an option not to automatically check for new versions allowing older versions to be used

Before the update

Before the update, I could download a clip quickly. Recently had an accident and needed to download the clip and simply couldn't. Have been trying to download but to no avail. The older version was so good. Why did you have to update to something so complicated that it doesn't work?? Please consider reverting our changing the software or this will be the last camera I buy. So far I had 3 cars installed with your front and rear view cameras.

Go back to the old app

Go back to the old app , it is just shxte , the old app I could connect to my dashcam and download a clip in less than a minute , I have now given up trying to get to my recordings, if this isn't sorted , will just buy a new brand as this one is useless.
My advice for anyone looking at a blackvue dashcam , I say avoid.

Horrible camera. The app dont work, it's Hard to add the camera. Won't connect to cloud or WiFi. It seems like the app gets worse for every update. Right now it's just a brick. Won't recommend anyone blackvue

I moved over to blackvue about 6 months…

I moved over to blackvue about 6 months ago. The camera is okay, nothing special but overpriced. As a driving instructor the app was pretty good because I could pull over at the roadside and review footage instantly with my learners. Unfortunately, they updated the app a few days ago and since then, like a lot of people I can no longer access the camera at the roadside.
I'll give a few more days and if theres no fix, I'll be taking the cameras out and selling them.
My blackvue journey has been expensive and frustrating !

AVOID Blackvue dash cams!

The app no longer works - it won't allow you access to your £300+ dash cams unless you have a cloud account....which is impossible to create via the app. So, the dash cams are completely useless. AVOID Blackvue - these are total rubbish!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! I called them due to problem and the answer is always delete the current software and upload the new. They don't care about you or their product and there are way too many other dash cams on the market to deal with this kind of Poop.
Just invest your money elsewhere!
Oh and I'm a nice guy normally!

BEWARE!!! MISLEADING CUSTOMERS!!!

I purchased 2 DR750X LTE PLUS, one for my daughter and 1 for myself in JUNE 2022. These were both been hardwired to the fuse panel. The first problem we encountered was with the connection supplied in the box was for cigarette lighter.

When we contacted Halfords they said some came with the kit and some didn’t, but because both boxes had been opened they refused to exchange them.
We then had to go and purchase 2 hardwire kits. Which then had to be returned because the connections did not fit properly. (Wrong one for that model) We took them back to Halfords and spoke/complained to the manager, who by the way was also bewildered, as to why there was only the cigarette lighter connection in the box. He exchanged the 2 kits for a different one which the connection was a better fit ( no need to force it in)
As per complaint to previously advised the dash cam would include the hard wiring cable which is needed for parking mode to work.
Going back-and-forth with Halfords they eventually admitted their mistake and provided us with the hardwired cable in order for parking function to work. This works but is draining the battery and we have to jumpstart the car. So we have disconnected the cable, we have 2 dash cams that we are not currently using because of this.

Before our purchase and getting advice from experts such as Halford staff and doing multiple research online it shows that the DR750X-2CH LTE Plus has built in parking mode.

They are not connected via a power magic Pro or a battery pack because we were advised before purchasing this DR750X-2CH LTE Plus does not need to be connect via magic Pro as it has built it parking mode and can be used once the dash cam is connected to the car via the hardwire cable.
We were also advised that the DR750X-2CH LTE Plus does not need the voltage threshold to be adjusted via the app as this dash cam is a new model which unlike older models this had now been updated.

My car is a year old so my battery is in excellent condition.
The dash cam drains our batteries, which means it disconnects itself and so this defeats the object of having a dash-cam as we wanted to be able to check our cars while parked or away.
We are not happy with this and is a waste of money, as it’s not fit for the purpose in parking mode.

We were constantly jump starting our cars, which is ridiculous as I need to be able to use my car in an emergency for a family member and their hospital needs/trips.
This has costed me over £1300 including fitting.
These dash cams seem to be false advertising or the staff need to trained in what they are selling.

I was originally in touch with BlackVue customer Services and upon our first few emails he also seem to be confused between the products,he did correct himself in a later email but it just shows that if the trained professional experts can get confused what chance does a normal customer have in understanding the products.
After weeks of emails back and forth I was told I need to contact this region for where I made my purchase.

I have spent over £1300 for two DR750X-2CH LTE Plus dash cams and fitting and now I am being informed I am having to spend extra funds in order to get the product and its features to work for the main intended purpose. There will also be an extra charge for fitting the new devices.
As a customer I am very frustrated with the blackvue and halfords service and product.
This was the main purpose, had I known this I would have purchased an alternative product, bearing in mind I bought 2 of the same, second one for my daughter.
I have brand new car which has been subject to vandalism twice, hence the purchase of the dash cam in parking mode.

My point is, that before purchasing we have done numerous research and speaking with professionals for advice on what we want for the dashcam and it seems that all the information we were given was incorrect

I would like to be compensated for the extra products and second installation I will had to pay out for both cars, because had I been given the correct advice on this product, I would have purchased another model/dash-cam and would have got one fit for the purpose intended and only pay one installation charge. Please bear in mind these extra costs are for two cars. We have already paid £200 for the first installations, and now have to pay the items below.

BEWARE BAD ADVICE FROM BLACKVUE.com

BLACKVUE CAR CAMERAS
Beware of buying from this company as they give you incorrect and misleading advice !

In August 2020 I purchased a Blackvue DR900S-2CH Front and rear car camera for £431 and a Battery B-124x at a cost of £340. I was advised at the time that if I had both cameras on in Parking mode with the movement sensor disabled I would get nearly 17 hours of use from the one battery. I tried this for 6 months but realised I was not getting 17 hours of use more like 12 hours maximum which I decided was not really enough. I live mainly in Spain and only bought the cameras as sadly here people have a tendency to hit your car while it is parked and never leave a note of responsibility.

They always said that the one battery would take about 40 mins to fully charge however if I added another battery I would get about 48/56 hrs depending on the parking mode set up hours of use and with a similar charge time as the batteries would charge together simultaneously. I decided to buy another battery in April 2021 a B-124e at a cost of £269 so now a total of £609 for the batteries alone !

After using them for a year or more I noticed that the batteries were not holding their charge very well. I eventually and just recently complained to Blackvue that I was barely getting 12 hours of use from both the batteries so assumed the batteries were faulty.

I have just had an argument with them because what they never told me at any point that you have to change the settings in the ‘Blackvue Viewer App’ from a battery setting of 6,300ma to a setting of 12,600ma so for 2 batteries in order for the battery App to show you the correct status of the charging completed. Had they advised me of this originally and told me how long the two batteries would take to charge I would never have bought a second battery.

So in short the battery manager App which I thought was telling me the status of both batteries was only telling me the amount of charge in one battery and then a few days ago they also said it would take at least 90 mins to charge both the batteries something they never told me when I bought the second battery. This time to charge both batteries was hopeless for me as I never use the car for more than 45 mins maximum and very often only for 10 or 15 mins per day being retired.

Finally because of their poor misleading advice I asked them to refund me the cost of the 2nd battery so £269 but a man called Derek refused to give me a refund also saying I bought it on Amazon.co.uk so it was Amazon’s responsibility not theirs so basically trying to wash their hands of the non existent and misleading advice they had given me.

You have been warned avoid this company who want to take your money and mislead you at the same time.

Blackvue DR590X-1CH Avoid or be for ever disappointed

Had a Blackvue 590 fitted so it worked off the ignition.
It’s useless, sometimes it says there is a card issue, doesn’t connect to the phone, recordings pause for no reason, I have to manually switch the wireless connection on every time I get in the car, and it drops out continuously. It has the latest software date updated was the 27/12/22 .This has been in the car 3 weeks and now I want my money back, better off buying something from Halfords for half the price, my sons next base is 5 years old and works perfectly.
AVOID Or be disappointed and be careful, 3 points and fine for trying to get the thing to work when at traffic lights because it’s switched off again. This is hardwired in to a premium brand car and was supplied and installed by a local company with excellent reviews.
Avoid, or be frustrated. Just thinking , what if you actually needed the evidence it’s supposed to record?….
