long wait for poor care

We waited 5 hours to be seen by the vet. The vet kept her overnight and we paid $2,000 before leaving her. They wanted a total of over $5,000. The next day we picked her up and she was worse than when we left her. When we got ready to give her evening medications, we realized one was a muscle relaxer and didn't give it to her. The next morning, she was alert and walking normally again. They charged us $2,000 becasue their vet didn't recognize our dog was over sedated on her medications. The place was also freezing cold, which made 5 hours seem even longer.

Bad experience

One of the worst experiences ever! The front office was rude and unprofessional. They left me and my animal stuck for 8 hours in small room. They checked on us only once. I would never recommend it to anyone.

Corporate Greed at its Finest!

If I could rate them a minus 5 or lower I would. Incidentally, I live in Northwestern, WI, not California as Yelp has noted!

On August 15th my daughter brought our large breed young dog to Arden Hills, MN Blue Pearl because she was hit by a car. We were the only client in the clinic, and arrived around 6:00 p.m. The veterinarian on staff and the staff were by all means, efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant, nothing negative there. Our dog had X-rays, and pain meds, but the X-rays would not be read until 10:00 p.m. My daughter left, as we live 2 hours away. The doctor called me to tell me there was no surgeon on call and therefore no amputation or surgery options would be done that night and I was to come and get her that night.

I explained again that we live 2 hours away, and the plan was a surgeon was to see her at BP in the a.m. I said can she stay the night since we will be bringing her back in the morning and we live so far away. They said okay, but it will cost you $3,000 for her overnight stay. I said $3,000? For her to sleep, as she was on heavy pain meds, and this clinic is open all night anyway? I explained it was not in the best interest of my 100 pound dog with a severely multiple leg fracture or me to drive at night 2 hours only to return the next morning. The vet said she would discuss it and get back to me. She said they would wave that astronomical fee but I had to be there by 6:00 a.m. which we were.

If we decided to have the "amputation" done there in the morning, there was no guarantee as the hospital side was full. Also to move our dog with multiple fractures from one part of their hospital to the surgery area they would charge us another $1,500. We opted to take her elsewhere as this whole experience was to us showed zero regard for our dog or us for that matter.

They put a splint on her leg that cost $381.50 that didn't even last 7 hours and it was put on incorrectly and needed to be redone at the next place we took our dog. We will be having a plate put in our dogs leg, AMPUTATION WAS NOT RECOMMENDED by two other veterinarians, for a total of $4,000 instead of the additional $8,000 to $10,000 Blue Pearl quoted to AMPUTATE her leg which would have been a total of $13,000!

I could write more... but I hope those reading this get the idea that this kind of monopoly vet clinic is nothing but corporate greed at its finest. Let me save you the time and your money, go anywhere, but Blue Pearl!

The worst place EVER

The worst place EVER!

I took my cat to BP in Southfield, MI last night to have him checked cause he had severe weight loss, could barely walk, not eating/drinking etc. The lady who took us in said that it looks like kidney failure. After 3.5 hours of ''the Dr will be right with you''...I never saw a Dr. And the Dr NEVER even examined my boy. He lay dying in his carrier in a room where no one was paying attention to him. They told me that it's an ''Emergency'' clinic. Um, hello I brought him here to see you cause it was an EMERGENCY! yet you just let him lay there doing nothing as animals healthier than mine are walking in and walking out in a timely manner. Stories of how ''we dont have a Dr on staff just yet'' to ''it shouldn't be much longer''. i spent a total of almost 4 hours just to leave with my baby boy, and no help. i'm furious. then as i signed the ''papers'' to avoid any liability from them for taking him home, they told me ''you need to take him somewhere soon cause he's very sick''. UMMMM, isn't this why i brought him to the EMERGENCY VET? you're business needs to be shut down and honestly, how you haven't been sued for negligence yet is beyond me. you guys are horrible and don't know the true meaning of EMERGENCY. and thanks to you and making my boy wait for over 3 hours..i'm heartbroken to say that he passed on our way home. where he could've passed peacefully and surrounded by his family. thank you for that.

They will only save you pet if you have cash on you.

Blue Pear Veterinarian Emergency Hospital in downtown Seattle. On December 25, 2023 my pet cat Amber was taken ill unexpectedly. This was at 4pm and I immediately called a taxi and had him drive me right over to the Blue Pear Hospital Seattle There a young man with blue eyes met me at the door and took my pet Amber into the back area of the hospital. I say a young man technician be cause he was waring a mask and I could not see his whole face. A minute later he came right back and met me in one of the little side rooms where pet owners wait while technicians and vets work on their pets. However, this is not what happened, when this technician brought back Amber she was still unconscious and needed to be put on life support. As she was alive and had a pulse. This technician said the following, "What we do in cases like this is put the pet on life monitoring and keep the pet here for two or three days. And its too late to bring her anywhere else, and its EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE. Just like that EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE. "Assuming I could not afford it, which was absolutely not true, I had in my pocket book no less than $3000 plus her Pet Life Insurance number, there was no reason to talk about money. He should have taken her right away for care and he did not. He proceeded to sell me a CREMATION ERN FOR $500. Which I paid in cash. I was heart broken and could not believe he was just going to let Amber die and not even try to help her. This man and Blue Pear Seattle should be shut down for their crimes again pet and pet owners.

Stay Clear of Blue Pearl - profit over pet

My brother's small dog had developed a sore on her neck and she wasn't doing well. She's over 15 years old, so she's quite frail. He was trying to get her evaluated and treated and went to Blue Pearl vet on Sonterra in San Antonio. They immediately separated him from his pet, and proceeded to let him sit for over 3 hours without any details. They then tried to charge him over $1500 to "clean" a wound They never determined the cause of, while ignoring his wishes. This place appears to have a national agenda of high pressure sales leveraging on people's love for their pets. This is absolutely horrible to experience. After reading these reviews, this is not a coincidence. It is a methodology being used to bilk people of money at the expense of their pets. Stay away from this place. There should be a class-action suit brought against this franchise.

Dog in labor. Three hours before treatment.

We had a dog in labor and she had a little difficulty. We called our regular vet and was told they didn’t have a surgeon available if surgery was needed, and they recommended going to Blue Pearl. We arrived at the facility at 8:15. There were no other patients. They took our dog for examination and bloodwork. The vet came in after 15 minutes and said the remaining puppy had a low heart rate. We were told a C section was the best option and they could spay her at the same time. We told them no C section and give her a shot to induce labor. After 3 hours, they hooked her up to a sucrose IV and gave her a shot of calcium. She gave birth to a stillborn puppy. If this would have been done when we outlined our wishes, there was a 50 percent chance of the puppy being born alive. Like I said, it took them three hours and there were no other patients. I will never go to a Blue Pearl clinic

If these people could have been given…

If these people could have been given negative stars, they earned it.

There is nothing worse than having your beloved pet injured traumatically. You are in a panic to try and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

I went to Blue Pearl's facility in Golden Valley Minnesota, as they were only ten minutes from my house.

It is at this point, while holding a bleeding dog in my arms, they would not budge to help him until they had money in their hands.

With a prolapsed eye, after quoting an outrageous sum for the procedure, the vet proceeded to put the most absurd stitches in the eyelids after restoring the eyeball into the eye socket. Wrapping the stitches in plastic stents.. ( I truly wish this site could allow me to post the pictures of this..)

I returned in 4 days to complain as my dog was in absolute pain and terror.

They said the only answer was to remove the eye.

This was after demanding another trauma triage' fee of $275, just to look at their mess.

I left determined to see another veterinarian, and would not subject their incompetence to him again.

Upon another vet seeing the status of the eye, he immediately scheduled a surgery to address the crazy sutures.

He removed the plastics, which he said had ulcerated the cornea, due to their placement, and the dog was in extreme distress.

He replaced the Blue Pearl mess with a single suture, properly placed as it should of been in the first place.

Now two weeks later, my dog has had the single suture removed, has an intact eyeball in the socket, though sadly without vision in that eye, and he has returned to his normal self.

The greed and the incompetence of Blue Pearl is unbelievable.

Do not take your animal here, as they are a national chain designed to make money off of your distress.

We love all animals so please DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED FAMILY MEMBER HERE...!

Research your options before you need to respond to an emergency, as you will end up in the wrong place, as we so sadly learned.

If I could leave negative reviews I…

If I could leave negative reviews I would. I called this place on Ulmerton rd Clearwater/Largo FL and explained to them in detail what I needed for our 2 yo mixed breed. She had injured her toe nail. It was broken and bleeding and she was in pain. They said "yes, we can trest her". I arrived and checked in. Was taken to exam room and went through the "screening" process. Then they took her in the back. A different "person" came in to the room. No greeting, no introduction. She told me she could see the broken nail and the bleeding. She said the nail had a high Crack right up at the skin. She said she COULDNT treat my pup because she didn't have a DREMEL. She insisted she needed a Dremel in in order to treat her. I complained a little but she insisted. When I asked if she could just wrap the foot til I could get her to her regular vet again, she refused. Apparently if I didn't choose to have the cone collar with a bandage wrap they won't do anything. They did say they would dispense Carprofen.
SO, I was required to pay the FULL $169.00 fee plus whatever they charged me for some anti inflammatory.
I explained exactly what I was bringing her there for by phone and was told "yes we treat that". Feels like a huge scam.
Never returning there.

Blue Pearl is a an unethical business

Blue Pearl is a an unethical business! They price gauge and take advantage of the desperation of their clients. They are easily 3 to 4 times more expensive than other vets and greed drives their business model. If you have ANY other choice, do NOT patronize this amoral organization.

Lied, ruined my dog, lied more and are trying to charge me for there mistakes.

I made a appointment met with the vet he explained the surgery to remove a tumor. we had a plan and made an appointment to get it done I left feeling confident. 1 month later I took the day off work to bring my dog the the tech came out got my dog took her back then demanded 6k upfront. Like an idiot I gave it to them. They then preceded to do a nairs surgery and shortener her pallet so she could breathe better she never had an issue breathing did not need the extra surgery and I knew nothing about it till it was done. Then they removed the tumor but left her with a permanent trake witch was not disclosed as a possible outcome of the surgery. The dog now breaths through a hole in her throat making the extra unapproved nairs and palet surgery completely obsolete. Then I'm told that all the extra surgery means extra care for recovery at 1500 a day. 3 days later on Saturday they call and tell us to come get her we asked 2x what the balance to be payed was and we were told it had been covered by the initial payment. So im thinking they realized that they screwed up and were trying to make it right. So I take off work drive 2hrs to pick her up but when I get there they demand I pay 3k more and tell me the person that called us made a mistake. I explain it's 5pm on Saturday no bank is open and I didn't come prepared to pay because they told me i didn't owe anything. After over an hour of pleading with them and dealing with my spouse upset and crying they finally agreed to bill me and give me my dog. Then on Tuesday they text me wanting 4k in payment. so after I picked her up they added an additional 1k to the bill. And because of the special needs due to the permanent trake I can't even keep the dog.

6-8 hour wait for a vet to see my injured puppy

Went there last night with my 10 week old puppy who slid on the floor and injured his leg. He was unable to stand or bear weight on his front paw. Whimpering terribly. I was told it would be 6-8 hours before a vet could see him.
I realize there are important issues with other animals and I truly respect that. BUT…. How can you tell a patient in an emergency hospital that there’s a 6-8 hour wait. There should be ample vets available for what they charge you. I would tell anyone with an emergency to avoid them at all costs.
Needless to say we left and went to a different emergency clinic that is further away from us.

My dog was hit by a car instead of…

My dog was hit by a car instead of examining all the things that could be done to save her and the resources available to us they were more interested in making sure we knew how much they wanted and how we should just put her down. I found out tonight that my dog could have had a good life. They have given us several different amounts we owe them but have not answered back in the past week about where my dog is. We had wanted her cremated but I am pretty sure they threw her out like trash.
I wouldn't take any animal to blue Pearl vet hospital in Tampa Florida.

Katy Clinic Sucks Ass

Katy, Texas Fry road- location

“Coordinated visit by a trusted vet, come to find out she gets paid for us going there! My dog had kidney failure, severe dehydration.
They took my dog out of our room 40 minutes, put in an IV in her arm, but never started the IV until they got $3000 from us for an overnight IV service for fluid. Unbelievable. Do not go there. Do not use them unless there is no one available they are leeches. They don’t care they are inhumane to say the least, if I could sue them, I would no compassion. My personal experience wasn’t that good…

My personal experience wasn’t that good … princess, my Shih Tzu, is suffering from heart failure. I received a call from Dr. Harrier in reference to her update, and we got into a debate about who diagnosed her with heart failure. I was under the impression that it was blue pearl, but I was wrong ..however, Dr. harrier got so upset that in the middle of our conversation she hung up on me.. so moving forward I’m feeling optimistic about letting blue pearl care for anyone of my animals at this point, right now I’m skeptical. I also felt a little uncomfortable , when I took princess the first day it seem like the customer representatives at the front desk shows no care …they’re joking and laughing, they either have to be educated or they simply just don’t care, but you’ll see it for yourself you don’t need to hear it from me. but after speaking to the Doctor who is the primary physician for Princess, and hands up on me in the middle of a conversation, that’s sort of enough for me, In The middle of a thank u…I need no more . Not in the middle of an argument, in the middle of a thank u for taking care of my love one..my number is 267-593-5544 if u want details .
