This veterinary hospital is the worst.rst…

This veterinary hospital is the worst from start to finish. I feel they do not really care about anyone's pets, they are just there to fill their pockets full of our money. Just to let you know, pets are a family member too, just in case you didn't know. I feel they really dont care about a family's pet. The service Blue Pearl provides is below a 1 star rating. If there was an option for negative I would give them a negative 5. This veterinary hospital should not even be in business. I have been waiting four days for Blue Pearl to send a script over to my veterinarian, and after several phone texts they finally called over there to get a confirmed email address. Never again will I use this Veternary Hospital, nor recommend them to anyone.

Zero Stars Conshohocken, PA Blue Pearl

Conshohocken,PA Blue Pearl. Zero Stars. Never in 60+ years of owning pets and seeing Veterinarians have I come across such contempt for pet Owners. I am astonished. Avoid this dismissive Blue Pearl location at all costs if you are able. BP in Shillington, PA on the other hand is 5 Stars Plus for 2 Emergency needs.

Just absolute horrible experience with…

Just absolute horrible experience with this facility.
First issue: They remove and take the Pet away from the owner in another room and you can't go.
As my old-fashioned vet said you build a repeiore with the owner/animal.
They could use some advice from "All creatures great and small"
You never take an animal from an owner. First rule.
It's like taking our babies.
What happened to old-fashioned Veterinary care? It's gone I guess and now your Pet is a # I'm sad to say.

Animal cruelty and abuse

Please
Read my experience with Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Avondale Arizona

This is the first negative review that I've ever left and it is definitely warranted

I brought my neighbors 4 year old healthy German Shepard in. I told them I was driving my truck and he ran underneath it , but was not run over by the tires. I felt compelled to get him checked out. After them putting him in a cage for 4 hours , my neighbor asked the receptionist what's going on . 10 minutes later we were called back into the examining room
The vet said that she ultrasounded him, along with saying that she didn't hear any fluid or in his lungs or abdomen. But felt the need to xray him anyway . She told me that she had a treatment plan I asked to see the treatment plan.
A tech came in. I asked her what the vet did so far. She replied nothing was done yet hes in a cage . I asked her if the Vet utra sounded him , she replied no. I was there with my neighbor the dogs owner. After seeing what was really going on, we decided to take his dog home . I asked to see him they wouldn't let us.They said that we wouldn't be able to see him until they gave him an injection.

When I declined there $1800 estimate for xrays after being lied to. The vet came back with her sales pitch and said that he wont survive the night
Along with a new treatment plan for $1945.00 for shaving a few scraped areas. With additional fees for anything else past the shaving. My bill was $309.00 for an injection and 15 pills . That aren't even $20.00
Thank God that
he had some superficial wounds and is doing fine .
They are an unethical billing factory .
The worst part is the dog walked in fine on his own. He sat next to me when I was filling out there paperwork , and got up on his own walking at a fast pace to go out the door.
When I declined there treatment plan
They dragged the dog out with a body sling causing extreme pain to the dog as evidenced by its yelping and heavy breathing. This mistreatment brought tears to my eyes, and was so totally unwarranted.
I immediately told the tech to let the dog go. You know that your hurting him and causing extreme pain by mangling his body like that .
She told me he was acting like that because of the injection.
Which is a lie. He was lethargic from the injection and should of used a Gurnee or blanket to move him. His crying was blood curdling. Even an idiot would know that your abusing and mistreating an animal.
I told them that I had worked as a fireman . Do they have a blanket or sheet for me to move him. After asking 4 times they loaned me one and I carried him to the car. From when I picked him up he stopped crying and breathing heavy. When I got home he walked into the house on his own. When the receptionist came to the car to retrieve there blanket. I told her that I am very experienced in moving bodies. Being in the medical industry, they should also know these simple things. My neighbor and
I truly believe that a Blue Pearl employee mangled and dragged him out of spite. For me declining there services. I asked the vet for pain pills for him, along with a pain injection. As I believed that the scrapes were causing him discomfort and some pain.
Im really aggravated with myself , as they were the closest animal hospital by me. When the receptionist came out to retrieve there blanket. I told her that was totally wrong and negligent
How they mistreated him As she witnessed me move him, I let her know the importance of the blanket. She acted like she didnt care, and our conversation
was boring her . She non challantly replied I guess that ill bring it up at the next board meeting. With no remorse ,
Of witnessing the excruciating pain from the dog. Do yourself a favor and Google Blue Pearl animal hospital. After you read all of the complaints on many websites . That patients state MISTREATMENT and ridiculously high bills. Im sure that you will run away fast from Blue Pearl . I am posting this , so that no animal or human has to go thru this pain and suffering.

If I was able to rate them, it would be
Minus -100 stars

I am filing a formal complaint with the…

I am filing a formal complaint with the State of Nevada Board of Veterinary Medicine against Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Reno, NV and Surgeon Dr. MacLellan over my dog's post operative infection and care after his surgery on 12-7-2023.

I feel that both the Blue Pearl Hospital and the surgeon Dr. MacLellan were negligent in the post operative care of my dog "Sherpa". I had repeated ER visits post-surgery costing me thousands of dollars above and beyond the cost of the initial surgery. The travel time, financial hardship, and tremendous stress that my family experienced plus the additional pain and suffering that my dog has endured could have been prevented had antibiotics been prescribed upon discharge from surgery and a follow up visit would have been scheduled with the surgeon or equivalent (since he was on vacation) . The Blue Pearl staff lacks empathy for both the pet and owner. Due to the unwillingness to communicate with me or to follow-up on Sherpa's condition by both Dr. MacLellan and the Blue Pearl staff, I was forced to seek medical treatment at another hospital 3 hours from my home where Sherpa received the proper, compassionate care that he deserved.

I have documents of a maximum payment of $2,000 for my kitty I agreed with a veterinarian to give her another thousand for blood and that was the total amount with taxes but the documents say $2,000 d

On top of having the maximum of $2,000 still have the papers I spoke to the doctor about giving my kitty more blood and she knew I had a limit I still have the papers and I verbally agreed to give her another $1,000 in blood they tried to hold my cat hostage the cat was dying they didn't know how to treat her they left me alone for a year and now they want another thousand when I still have the documents of two grand and I gave the doctor an extra $1,000 for the verbal agreement this place doesn't care about your pets nor do they care about your money the one on camp Horne road had the same deals and took care of my kitty and updated me about everything I will get a lawyer if they can continue to bother me I still have the documents of maximum $2,000 and I'd like to see that doctor go to the magistrate after what they did to me and I brought my cat back dying thank God I took her to somewhere else where they figured out she needed doxycycline that's what saved her life what kind of hospital is this keep it up people because I'll go to the better Business bureau and I'll call my lawyer back up

Very poor care for our dog

Very poor care for our dog. We arrived at the hospital around11:00 am and didn’t see a Dr until 9:30. Our dog was a diabetic and they never checked his blood sugar all day.The Dr. never showed any compassion! The staff kept complaining about being understaffed. Would definitely not take another pet to Blue Pearl!!!

THINK TWICE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE…

THINK TWICE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE HAVING THIS VET DO AN OP ON your animal. They ruined the end of our dog’s life and robbed 10k from us during the holidays. We dropped our still mobile dog Oscar off at blue pearl and he came out paralyzed. He was never able to walk again until we were forced to put him to sleep. Blue Pearl is a surgery mill. The purpose of this company is to exploit people’s love for their pets for money. They are a national company whose parent company also owns Banfield Pet Hospital. Blue Pearl has 1 of 5 stars and a “D-” Better Business Bureau rating. I found numerous lawsuits against Blue Pearl Nationwide. We took our pup Oscar to Blue Pearl in Maitland, FL to be examined by Dr. Stark, the neurologist. The receptionist said she did not need his shot records because “if you can afford to come here, we know you take care of your pet”. We informed Dr. Stark that Oscar had started to drag one of his back legs and recently started having choppy front steps. After telling us that IVDD surgery would fix our pup and that it had 95% success rate we decided to proceed with the 10k surgery. This was a lie; it is more like 40% success rate when you do more research. After doing a very expensive MRI Dr. Stark said that she found the source of Oscars disk problem and that we should definitely proceed with the surgery. After 10k in bills we picked up Oscar shocked to find that he could not walk AT ALL. He was paralyzed, in a lot of pain, and traumatized. They said that this was perfectly normal. They had failed to mention that we would need to spend 3k more to do physical therapy. We got a physical therapist right away. A week later we took Oscar to his follow-up with Dr. Stark. She told us we may need to take our seats. And then with almost a smug smile on her face said "Well, it looks like your dog got another injury since his surgery. Because his back legs were fine before. Unless you have 10k more to spend on another surgery. It looks like euthanasia is the next option." You can imagine our shock as we were gaslit. If you care about your pup do not let Dr. Stark get her hands on him. The doctor could not say when or how the 2nd herniated disc occurred because they only examined and x-rayed his neck area and never looked at his entire spine. We deeply regret that we had just given our dog steroids so that he could have had a happier end to his life. When a large corporation dictates pet care and the doctors practice medicine by checking a box and following a procedure manual, the human element is removed from care. I am disgusted that this company exploits people’s love for their pets to make a profit. I feel horrible for putting my precious dog through a traumatic surgical procedure at 13-years old. When we informed the doctor that we would not be giving Blue Pearl anymore of our money they handed us some steroids and pain meds and we never heard from them again. No follow up call or inquiry about his condition. They are cold and ruthless when the revenue source has run out. Oscar was a beloved family member who deserved compassionate care that he did not receive at Blue Pearl.

I took my foster dog Rocky down there…

I took my foster dog Rocky down there to blue pearl in Pgh Pa on Camp Horne Rd to the er because Rocky was having some neurological issues going on. After talking with Dr. Joey Callum(female) she was telling me how Rocky is not doing well and that the costs of getting him treated and possibly living a good life was slim to none and she immediately said that he needed to be put down. PVSEC(blue pearl) is a money making racket or a place who always wants to immediately put an animal down. I had another dog that I took there and they said the same thing about her a year prior, well she lived another year or more and she was strong and had no issues, they are always quick to want to kill an animal. Back to Rocky, upon speaking with Dr. Joey Callum(callus is more like it and should be her last name) she is very cold hearted and when she came in the room I asked if I could speak with her in private, she says you don't want to speak in front of your husband about Rocky, I said no I don't want to speak in front of Rocky about Rocky, she says you don't want to speak about this in front of the dog, like he is not important, they understand what is going on, animals are not dumb, he is important to us, and I said no I don't so we went in another room. I had asked her about Rocky's condition and she was telling me again about what is happening with him and then in her next breath, she says I bet you will never do this again, meaning foster another dog, she knows at that moment I am vulnerable because of what is happening with Rocky, she is very heartless and her lack of compassion for the families of these pets they are supposed to take care of shows very much how much she doesn't care for the animals. PVSEC is a very heartless place to deal with. They have no compassion for people and their pets based on the two experiences I have had with them. Dr. Joey Callum could have been a little more compassionate knowing I am in tears over Rocky. This was so sudden and unexpected for Rocky to get sick that we did not expect him to have to be put down. I could not believe that she had the nerve to say to me, I bet you will never foster again. What a mean thing to say, here I am just trying to save an animal from being put down because that is what would have happened to him if I would not have gotten him from the place 6 months ago. How can a Dr. who works around animals all the time be this disrespectful to the families of fosters and adoptive animals? If you feel you have to go to this place in the er and they say Dr. Joey Callum is seeing your dog or any pet, ask for someone else(although the way PVSEC is any dr is immediately wanting to put an animal down). I wish there was an option to give zero stars because this place doesn't even deserve one star.

Here's their formula for up-charging you to maximize profits

As a doctor I quickly recognized their unethical billing practices. Here's how they will get you. They give you a statement of line items that could be charged; on the left column is the low estimate of charges and a total, on the right column is the high estimate of charges with total. They tell you your charges will not go above the high estimate but will likely be in between estimates. Here's the scam. If you don't use all the services listed in the high column, they simply adjust the itemized charges up to get it closer to the maximum amount. Most will not notice the difference in itemized charges as they just look at the total. If they do notice, as I did, they dismiss the fact that the charges were manipulated up by saying, "yes, but your total is still less than the maximum we initially agreed on. I guess we are supposed to be ok with this. No, its taking advantage of people, many who cannot afford 5k in diagnostics alone. I asked them if the charges would have been manipulated up if I had received all the services in the high column, knowing they would not have because it would have then totaled more than the high estimate guaranteed. Crickets. I was told someone in billing would get back to me. So far, crickets. It's a shame companies like this choose to manipulate you knowing you'll do anything for your pet, including getting scammed!

Blue Pearl is predatory and criminal

Blue Pearl has replaced "predatory payday lenders" providers as some of the biggest criminals in the country.

Blue Pearl WILL :
- Be rude to you immediately
- charge predatory rates that are AT LEAST 5X human medical procedures; and completely ignore standard medical protocols to sell you services you don't need. We had two, double board physicians listening on our call. And the vet who was telling us we'll need at least $10k, after failing to use any standard medical process and procedure to get there. Ie, the Vets lied to sell more.
- treat you like garbage for being shocked at prices that are at least 5X TIMES the cost for humans. Ex: MRI = $5000. For a human, that's $500-650; and you don't have to wait two weeks for results. AND you don't have to tolerate vet employees mocking you for struggling to pay for the cost to get your pet help.
- make you sign a Doc saying you won't complain about prices
- you will get a bad diagnosis, that will be modified/corrected when you take your pet to real Vets.

If we'd have listened to these criminals, we'd have put our dog down. Fortunately, thanks to a couple of Vets who actually love animals more than overcharging pet owners and the UGA Vet school, our Rhodesian Ridgeback will live out the rest of his days after irradiating bone cancer in his skull that Peachtree Hills and Blue Pearl have been asked about and ignored our asks for a full year; and missed.

Blue Pearl is owned by an investment firm, and they are operated as a cash cow that prays upon pet owners. Hence the predatory pricing.

The "vet business" is as out of control as the predatory lenders of past decades. And they need to be put down and out out of business for animal abuse and pet owners abuse.

These are not good people at all. They do treat you, and your pet horribly; all they care about is that dollar.

Thank you to Tractor Supply in Kennesaw for recommendations for Vets outside the Atl suburban area. Those Vets even mocked Blue Pearl and our (now) former vet, Peachtree Hills Vets in Buckhead (also predatory and vile). Go 20 minutes outside Atl for real Vets who'll be honest, try everything that costs nothing before jumping to the Big dollar bills and diagnosis. The country Vets and the UGA Vet school contradicted Blue Pearl. Had we listened to Peachtree Hills and Blue Pearl, we'd have our dog down. Thanks to the real Vets he will live out his remaining years peacefully and healthy.

Blue pearl and Peachtree Hills would have had us ki our dog for cash.

WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL EVER!

WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL EVER!
Sadly, I had to take our 7yr old cat to this dump, that claims to be a "specialty/emergency care" facility in levittown PA.
Dr Chalifoux was great, caring and compassionate about our cats health. He did everything he could to help my kitty. She got better after the first day, but started feeling bad again after we brought her home, so we had to take her back. unfortunately we got stuck with a POS so called dr called Jessica Kielb Basile. We got stuck with her since Dr. Chalifoux had off the next day, and She was the most heartless, and uncompassionate jerk that I've ever had to deal with. She should be fired for killing animals. I do believe there are laws against cruelty to animals.
Sadly I have had to euthanize a few animals in my life, and NONE of them suffered like my cat had to at the hands of this so called veterinarian. Every one of my past animals went peacefully, and drifted away with no pain. BUT when Jessica kielb gave my cat the shots, she practically tried to jump out of my wife's arms and cried out in pain. She didn't slowly inject her she jammed the needle in and quickly pushed the plunger. That's what made my cat react how she did. She rushed it, with NO HEART or care for my animal. Not to mention, the over pricing of services. 2 days in this place cost me $10,000 and all she cared about was putting my cat down. After spending 2 days in that place, she couldn't even give us a direct answer to why my cat was so sick. I hate myself for taking my animal to this place. I will NEVER forget the look of fear in my poor cats eyes when she gave her the shot. I hope someone does something about this heartless POS of a human being. She doesn't belong in an animal hospital. She deserves to be unemployed. I hope she doesn't have any children or a husband because she probably treats them like like crap too.
AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR PET MURDERED!!!! ESPECIALLY JESSICA KIELB!
The rest of the staff was pleasant and caring.

Rude and incompetent

I’m very disgusted with the incompetence and rudeness I experienced at Blue Pearl recently. My dog has been going to Blue Pearl on Sonterra in San Antonio, Texas, since 2011 for epilepsy. His neurologist was Dr. Wolfe at Blue Pearl. His seizures have been managed mainly with his daily seizure medication for years—since 2011. He also has emergency medication, midazolam and diazepam, that we keep on hand in case he has seizures so we can give it to him during active seizures.
Last year, he got really sick and started having cluster seizure episodes about every 2 months. So we’ve had to replace his emergency medications more often. This week, I called Blue Pearl several times over a 3 day timeframe to get the replacement emergency medications because he was almost out after he had a bout of cluster seizures again. I was told that they need 48 hours to fill it. I explained that it was important that I got it filled by Thursday, yesterday, because we were going out of town on vacation and needed the emergency medication on hand. On Wednesday, I was told it would be filled by Thursday morning. On Thursday when I called I was told that they were trying to get to my refill but they would have it by the end of the day. I explained to the lady that I was calling for the past three days and told them before that I was going out of town at 3:30 pm on Thursday—that day. She said “unfortunately there are many people in the same situation and we will get to yours as soon as possible.” I responded “there are many people that are going on vacation in an hour and need their dog’s emergency medication?” She then replied “we will get to it as soon as we can.” I asked to speak with the manager, but the lady said she was the manager. I then asked her to call me as soon as they got the medication filled. She called me later in the afternoon around 4 pm and said they weren’t able to get the medication filled at Sam’s Club pharmacy but that they filled it at Blue Pearl and I could come pick it up right now. I went to pick up the medication. They placed me in a room and the manager and a different doctor, not Dr. Wolfe, came in to tell me they were not going to fill the medication and that Dr. Wolfe said that she would no longer fill the medication in the future. I asked why they called me to tell me the medication was filled and had me drive over there just to tell me they weren’t going to fill it. Her response was “sorry.” This is unacceptable. They called me telling me the medication was filled, had me drive from the other side of town when I should’ve been driving out of town for my vacation, and then told me they weren’t going to fill his emergency medication knowing they waited until the last minute when they had 3 days to tell me this so I could locate a different veterinarian before I went on vacation. Not only that, but his doctor—Dr. Wolfe—didn’t have the courtesy to explain to me what was going on. Instead, she had the manager and a doctor that never saw my dog before tell me this.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIFIC VETERINARY PRACTICE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR PETS!!!!!!!!

In September 2023, we rushed our cat to BluePearl Pet Hospital in Waltham, MA, where she was administered an ultrasound. Our regular veterinarian examined her at 8 am that morning suspecting that she suffered from pancreatitis. He recommended that we go to another emergency pet hospital, but they were unable to accommodate us that day or even the next.

We waited 3 hours for this ultrasound procedure, as our cat was in desperate need of this diagnostic measure. During the wait, she walked around the room and we observed no unusual tail activity.

When we collected our cat after the procedure, she was in the carrier as she was when we gave her to a technician. We had no opportunity to see our cat physically stand or move until we returned home late that day. Nor were we given any pre- or post-treatment guidance or explanation regarding what to expect. For example, we were never advised that she would be shaved.

When we got home and let her out of the carrier, we noticed that her tail was dragging on the floor and that she could not raise it or "flick" it as she normally would.

We were not advised by a technician or anyone else at BluePearl that our cat’s tail was not typical or unusual in any manner either before or after the procedure. Neither we nor our regular vet observed any unusual behavior regarding her tail previously.

We called Blue Pearl to report that we were concerned about her tail dragging and the apparent immobility of her tail. We don't know for sure who was in the room conducting the procedure, and BluePearl has not made it clear who was in the room during the procedure and who handled her. Apparently, this is something that they want to hide.

We were forced to visit our vet and incur the costs of visits and x-rays. Our vet's review of the radiologist's report and his own examination is that there is damage to the nerves in her tail.

We have come to the only conclusion that is rational and logical. Sometime during preparation for the ultrasound or during the procedure, someone roughly pulled or mishandled her tail - notwithstanding that BluePearl claims nothing untoward happened. The resultant damage was not a result of anything that we or that our vet did. Our vet can’t say with any certainty whether our cat will ever recover from the damage, which we know was done to her tail by BluePearl.

We were forced to pay for additional services because of BluePearl’s negligence. Apparently, this is not an uncommon occurrence for this horrible company – they severely injured the two hind legs of a dog in Virginia this year during an MRI for which they were sued. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIFIC VETERINARY PRACTICE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR PETS!!!!!!!!

Literal Lifesavers

For the second time, we have had a phenomenal experience at Blue Pearl. I can’t say enough good things about our team - David and Priscilla facilitated excellent, empathetic communication while Dr. Baldwin and her resident Melissa worked magic behind the scenes. They were able to help our senior dog twice in serious medical emergencies, first fixing his spine and then removing his eye, giving us countless more years and many more memories with him. We are so grateful to our team and encourage them to any pet owner experiencing an emergency!

BluePearl will tell you your dog needs meds tos yay alive and then gouge you over 300% of the normal cost of the meds

BluePearl diagnosed my dog with end stage mitrial valve disease. They quoted a price for life saving drugs for my dog over 300% normal value to carry me over for five days until I could buy the prescriptions online. Online I could buy a months supply for the price BluePearl demanded.
When I dared to question the price gouging , the tech said, “Sir, I don’t make the prices…the Dr. will see you soon”, as she closed the door in my face.
The Dr. never came.
I paid $400 for a consultation with a cardiologist, and I never spoke to the cardiologist. His report was relayed to me by the same person that closed the door in my face.
Bring your beloved family member/pet to BluePearl, but just know they’ll gouge you at least 300% the normal cost with the threat that if you don’t pay, your beloved family member/pet could die.
Oh, and bring a tent and plenty of provisions. You’ll be camping there for a long time.
This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a vet, specialized or otherwise.
It’s like a capitalistic trauma center where they just focus on profit. Like, how much can they make you pay to save your dog?
BluePearl’s focus is their bottom line, not your beloved family member.
Just know that going in.
