Get ready to bend over for nothing!

If there was a zero star this ER would get it. Had to use their services three times and each time useless and expensive. They do everything possible to jack up the bill, give you ridiculous estimate “ranges” that are not even a range with 2k differences between high and low estimates. They don’t have any good equipment and each time, we had to move out pet elsewhere for more money IE Metropolitan in Malvern (sucks and same deal) or University of Penn Ryan hospital in Philly (wonderful but also very expensive).

PETS in Lancaster is the best ER in the area. We just used them and all I can say is go there instead!!! What a difference! Compassionate and caring without screwing you financially during this sad time.

Overrated, Hugely Disappointing, Never Returning

The front desk staff are very nice and accommodating. Very pleasant and caring as should be the case. My honest assessment of the medical staff is that they're both hostages and victims of the corporate demand for them to bring in as much revenue per client as possible as opposed to being genuinely caring veterinarians. I can only think that their hard earned degrees and years of developing finer medical skills are wasted and greatly compromised by having to work in such a place. I suppose it comes down to money. Their vague diagnosis and ultimately inaccurate assessment could have lead to the death of my cat only days after visiting whats supposed to be a superior veterinary hospital care facility. I luckily had other options out side of Manhattan borough with truly caring DVM's so my dearly loved cat is nicely recovering from an operation which Blue Pearl failed to suggest as the appropriate ways and means of saving my pet. Lastly I'll state, What a sad excuse for a pet care facility. My score for your operation is less than an F. You utterly failed in your responsibilities and I won't hesitate to tell anyone who asks what my experience was when taking my cat there.

Worst Place to bring your pet!

Worst Place to bring your pet!! Blue Pearl Ft Myers and $1300.00 later we left with cough syrup. We there 3 hours - most of time waiting to be seen. Our dog 'coughing' but they never tested for worms of which on serious level can cause your pet to cough. There are a lot of Very SAD Situations on this site and More people need to take time to report medical board!

I took my dog to BluePearl in Maitland…

I took my dog to BluePearl in Maitland Fla. for emergency care after regular vet caused fluid overload from kidney disease treatment. They determined Godiva had other issues on top of kidneys. They have better diagnostic tools and testing. They do not offer dialysis which would have probably extended her life. The doctor and tech were very caring and knowledgeable. They suggested euthanasia or $10,000 treatment I would have paid if I thought she had even a slim chance to survive. It was so hard to let her go. Godiva was 11 1/2 and very sick and weak. Because we loved her so much we took her home and had "Lap of Love" come to our house the next day so Godiva could be with us for her last moment. I wish BluePearl had dialysis.

I went to Blue Pearl at 1 am in the…

I went to Blue Pearl at 1 am in the middle of the night on the 23rd of January. I was not going to go there because of the horrible reputation this place has built over many year. But since it was the only place open I took my chances mentally prepared to be skinned alive.
I must say I was very impressed by the compassion shown by the Veterinarian and her assistant. They felt the pain I was in and did not take advantage of my vulnerable emotional state to enrich the Blue pearl establishment, on the contrary they showed loving kindness and did not charge me anything for the examination and admission.

Forever grateful.
May God bless this Vet and her assistant.
Sincerely
Franco Caterini

I wish there was an option for negative…

I wish there was an option for negative zero stars. Please do not go here for a medical emergency. This place is not honest and will price gouge and price inflate a bill to their advantage and not yours. The mistake I made aside from going here was letting them know that my sick pet was an emotional support animal, this disclosed to them that I was disabled and I felt that they priced gouged me even more. Then after my pet was released from BluePearl, I found out the standard of care that was received was negligent and I was heartbroken because he suffered. I realized charges that were not authorized, nor wanted when I was sent the itemized bill-Blue Pearl didn’t initially provide it, I had to insist to see it. They stopped a critical medication for my young cat that I was informed that was critical for him and that he must remain on. Blue Pearl gave my cat this critical medication briefly while with them, then stopped his critical medication before his discharge and did not inform me of this critical medication, or my critical need to give it to him. I brought my pet to Blue Pearl to treat a critical urinary unblock and my pet was given the critical medication while with Blue Pearl very briefly, it was stopped I was informed by an expert to encourage another urinary blockage again. Blue Pearl is not the place for professional and veterinarians that truly care for animals. When I brought this information to Blue Pearl's attention when disputing their inflated bill and stating my dissatisfaction of services, unauthorized charges, and the standard of care of my cat, I was told that their medical negligence of my cat regarding his medication will be sent to their medical review team. Despite their negligence, which I reported to the state and informed them, BLUE PEARL STILL LEFT THEIR FULL COST INFLATED BILL OF $5,851.00 FOR ME TO PAY...COMPLETE WITH MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE! Blue Pearl will take advantage of you while you are under duress, financially exploit you and exaggerate their fees anyway even if you tell them you cannot afford what they are charging, do not want their services, or for necessary services ask them to work with you-their services are still extremely expensive in comparison to other vets. I was constantly upsold on surgery for my young cat- which I constantly refused. The vet that followed-up said surgery is a last resort...he is not a good candidate...he is too young for surgery. Blue Pearl didn't want to discharge my young cat. It was stated after the medication negligence that they care about pets, I did not agree with that statement, nor will I be a repeat customer. Other vets that reviewed my charges said many of the charges were inflated, extra services, and unnecessary. I discharged my pet and continued care elsewhere with an honest vet and ethical vet. Additionally, after my pet re-experienced the same condition that was the reason for going to BluePearl, I was informed that BluePearl discontinued critical medication after discharge. It was stated that my pet needed hospitalization and monitoring, I am perplexed as to what was being monitored? Clearly this was inflation of the bill, my family, friends are in awe of the bill exaggeration, prices, and service unauthorized charges, and staying away from this place. My pet was only on this critical medication while in their care. I am disputing their bill and charges. I do not expect Blue Pearl to act professionally from what I have seen and I will stay far away with my pets. BluePearl did not even inform me to get this medication. I did not even call for follow-up tests that I was charged for-and did not want. Due to their negligence and constant upselling I do not believe anything they say. I paid for tests to be performed again for honesty, accuracy, and reliability. The follow-up vet took care of the critical situation with an honest evaluation and visit. No 48hr exaggerated hospitalization charges like BluePearl, no excessive, unwanted X-rays and excessive sonograms, no excessive lab tests, no excessive hospitalization and associated fees for a simple critical visit that can be rectified to result in a bill that results thousands of dollars. My emotional support cat was discharged without a prescription to buy his prescription vet food. He was discharged with a few cans of specialized food to try. I have never had a vet diagnose my pet with an illness and not provide a prescription to buy their specialized food and/or medication. Again-if you care about the health of your pet, go somewhere honest, reliable, and where the vet services are not dangerous and go where they really care about animals!

Has anyone started a class action…

Has anyone started a class action against this place? They took my friend for almost $11,000 & her cat is dead. He was only 4 years old. At this point, it’s not about the money. It’s about how they took advantage of her & how they treated her & her cat. We don’t want anyone else to go through this. I’m honestly surprised they’re even still open- they shouldn’t be.

Blue Pearl in Oak Creek WI

Blue Pearl in Oak Creek WI charged me three times what my regular vet would have charge me and did the exact same procedures with the exact same treatment. All of this on a standard Tuesday morning schedule. They promised to follow up with specialist internal medicine vet but never called back and my cat remains ill. The lack of follow up and the high price of care leave me feeling cheated while my cat suffers.

Do not go here

Do not go here! Unless you like to pay unnecessary fees for vets that don't seem to really care about you or your animal. Last year I moved to the area and was referred to PAH. I went in January to get established with the vet (they charge a $71 wellness exam). THAT IS NOT A FULL PHYSICAL. The average cost for a wellness exam in the area is $45 to $55. I wouldn't have worried about the additional cost if the vets were extra caring; they really aren't. There is also a late fee if you are 10 minutes late (regardless if you call ahead). Once you get there, you still have to wait 15-25 minutes to see the vet. They do not validate parking and only have street parking as an option. I had to see the vet once in January; they didn't do all the vaccines, so I had to return in September. Now January 2023, half of his vaccines are due. I call and asked for a tech appointment ($25) instead of a doctor's visit. Keep in mind I was there less than four months ago. On the phone, they said no problem. I get there, and they tell me a Dr. visit is my only option - for only Vaccines (no bloodwork, physical, nothing- just for the Dr. to be in the room). This means my dog will have to go to the vet twice this year for vaccines. That means spending $142 yearly for wellness visits (NOT EVEN A FULL EXAM!!!). They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. The front desk worker shoved a box of masks in my face and yelled at me to wear one (I have no problem with masks- but put in the reminder text that I need a mask and I'll happily bring one). I don't appreciate having a box shoved in my face and yelled at. The Doctor knew I was upset, but when she came in, she asked me how she had no clue. When I looked at her, stunned, she was rude and said, "hello, anyone there," like I was a child. She was just a rude Doctor, and she asked me to administer a vaccine to my dog myself. You're the Doctor, not me. The Vet tech was the only nice one. Needless to say, I will not be going back. Too expensive for low-quality care.

Please avoid

Please avoid. I brought my 4 year old dog in on a Sunday Afternoon. Given an estimate between $3,314 and $4,040. Pre-paid 24 hour overnight stay. The next morning, I was told and additional $700.00 was required. When I told them no, the vet decided my dog was stable enough to come home. She was released approximately 12 hours too soon. Bottom line, my dog died in my arms that night. Without question, money and profits come first. ** Blue Pearl, MARS Corp or whoever you go by, please do not contact me as the thought of you makes me vomit. Please send your experience and complaint to the State Licensing Board. In addition, fill out the form DPBR 0700 with myfloridalicense.com You may also sue the company for veterinary malpractice. Lastly file a complaint with the BBB. A few minutes of your time may stop the corporation and their despicable board of directors.

Blue Pearl was kind

Blue Pearl were kind, fast and helped us at no cost. We found a stray cat gravely wounded in our yard, cat was motionless but crying in pain. You could tell it was terrified and injured. We brought him inside and put him on heating pad, wrapped n a blanket. Appeared to be a cat that was hit by a car. Went canvassing around and no-one owned him, we had some pain meds left from a previous cat of ours who passed and we administered some Buprenorphrine into cats mouth but cat could not swallow, maybe some absorbed into cats system, I hope because this cat was badly injured. We thought he was going to die in our home but my wife brought him ( we named him frank) to banfield which is vet to our five cats, they said we are not an emergency hospital, go somewhere else. Wife took cat to Blue Pearl, first time experience. The injured cat was having horrible seizures now which are signs of massive head injuries. Blue pearl kindly and quickly gook the cat, scanned for a chip and was seen by a vet. Vet said cat most likely had a broken spine and possible fractured skull. They did not run these tests to try and screw us, we are cat owners of five rescues and we know when a cat is dying. Frank was suffering immensely, we don't know hown long he was lying there injured but maybe for hours, security footage never showed him arriving in our yard, but Blue Pearl recommended euthanizing frank and my wife agreed. They did not charge us for this procedure which we were grateful for. We are like many animal owners and do not have tons of money, and we were must trying to do the right thing for this animal. Some may have left it to be taken care of by nature but we can not do that, we have to show stray animals compassion as if one of our own. We had a good first experience with Blue Pearl, better than some of the reviews I have read, but until we have a bad experience I cannot speak poorly of them. They helped us with our emotionally difficult situation, they helped Frank pass with dignity, and frank no longer is suffering on this earth anymore and we thank Blue Pearl for the courtesy we received by them.

My cat ended up dying in this hospital…

My cat ended up dying in this hospital by neglected doctor’s malpractice. The assigned doctor, Dr. De Witte, did NOT treat my cat’s rare liver condition properly. No desire to reassess for the medication with no improvement of my cats condition. Very rude, arrogant and unprofessional attitude is apparent. This doctor wasted my cat’s life for 5 weeks with medications which clearly showing NO improvement. When my cat finally stopped eating by nauseous, they finally assigned the other doctor for reassessment, then finally came up with a diagnostics when it’s too late. No apology or condolences after my cat’s death. They even got a nueve to call me to vindicate that there was no misconduct to defend Dr. De Witte. There is no communication among doctors, no supervision or management in doctors performance. More pets will die in this hospital. Horrible experience. Ended up with my cat died so soon I don’t recommend this place at all.

Price: Bend Over

Price, I wasn't surprised when they told me it would be approx $125 for the visit because it was on a Saturday, They took her back and figured it was a spine injury and wanted to prescribe 3 Rx for her. I asked for them to write out the prescription so I could get it at Costco as most vet prices are so over inflated but they said they couldn't but only gave 1 bottle of Gabapentin 300 mg quantity of 30 (which costs under $9.00 at Costco) and Carprofen 100 mg quantity of 14 (which would have cost $8.96 on Chewy) we walked out of there after paying $220.76! Let's not forget last year when I brought our 14 yr old Chocolate Lab in because of seizures and kidney problems and we ended up paying over $500 for that trip to have him put to sleep, but don't forget that they did send a condolence card and a cheap packet of seed to plant in his memory.... it was no difference than a funeral home as they stick it to you during a time your grieving over a family member. Do I need to say more as why you're getting a zero score?? I would not recommend Bluepearl to anyone without telling them when they get there to remember to bend over.
I received a request directly from Blue Pearl for a review and after they received my response (which I copied and pasted above) I was contacted by an agency they hired to handle reviews requesting me to change it but I refused, so it doesn't surprise me that have taken reviews down from their website but people need to know what type of business they are running there.

Inadequate diagnosis and treatment: My daughter called ahead of time to let…

My daughter called ahead of time to let them know what was going on with my cat. We thought she was going into keto acidosis from her diabetes. We were told that they would have everything ready and set up when we got there. They did not. I had to sit in the waiting room with my cat for approximately 20 minutes before we saw anyone other than to check in. I was there for several hours then was told I needed to take her to UGA veterinary to see a neurologist. She had been given a saline iv which seemed to help. I said I would take her to my veterinarian the next morning first. They said that they really didn’t know what was wrong with her, but after discussing it with my daughter( who isn’t a vet) for less than 2 minutes she knew exactly what was wrong from the test results. Then consulting my vet the next day she agreed Ginger had an adrenal tumor and probably Cushing’s disease. Further tests proved this was accurate. How could educated vets doing over a thousand dollars worth of tests not know this, while my daughter, who is a teacher did? The front desk people were friendly, the vet was not, and they were basically useless. Not only that, but if it had been keto acidosis the wait time could have been fatal.

Lil Billy Corporate Bottomfeeders

My dog had fluid in his chest making it hard to breath. The place in Des Moines wanted $6000 downpayment just to begin helping him. Would have been $1200 just for some diagnostics to get answers. Said it could end up being 10-15 grand to go all in. This place helps animals? Lol Maybe for the rich and famous. I was denied for the care credit. They wanted $6000 to lift a finger. Greedy bottomfeeders. But they smile real big and the workers probably have good intentions. Corporate Greed. Should have spent that time with lil Billie. Why dont they start saving the animals life when you get him there? Dont bother rushing your furry friend in. You have to wait for the consultation with the doctor to see how many thousands its gonna cost before they'll help. Then you have to see if you can get approved for a loan. Cuz who has $6000 to drop now?

The absolute worst vet care

The absolute worst vet care! They take peoples money and charge people for things that weren’t done! My son was charged almost $1000 for them to wrap Coban and a plastic piece around his dogs leg that wasn’t even properly done didnt keep the dogs knee immobile. I have requested a 💯refund and awaiting a return call. They even talked that the only cure was amputation. Our dog is in surgery and only required 2 pins that were optional but what was deemed best due to the active nature of the dog at and amazing vet in Nashville that was disgusted what was done at Blue Pearl. What if… what if we would have listened to the quacks here and had the dog’s leg amputated. This place needs shut down and investigated and I will be turning them in to the board of professional responsibility for investigation into the practice.

THE NASTY & DISGUSTING PLACE!!

Don't go to this nasty and disgusting ER vet clinic. You will be sorry because your pets will come home with infections. My cat was hospitalized at this facility for two nights and he came home with Feline Upper Respiratory Infection! I work in a healthcare field for human world, so I know infections can happen only when people do not take infection control/cleaning seriously. I had to take him to my regular vet so she could prescribe him antibiotics. But I have several cats at home and, unfortunately, he passed the infection onto two other cats of mine after he was discharged from blue pearl. I was very upset and angry and I requested AT LEAST half of the money I spent refunded as this is due to their malpractice and negligence, but they refused saying that they did not do anything wrong. WRONG!!!! They told me that they did what they were supposed to do for my cat and that's all the matter. Clearly, they do not care about your pets, their true well-beings, their owners and cleaning/preventing infections/virus. Since they did not cooperate and refused for a partial refund, I am about take a legal action and hire a lawyer to go after them. I may even contact TV station to spread the word on what kind of nasty place the blue pearl is.

WARNING

WARNING. DON'T BRING YOUR PETS HERE! PLEASE READ. My cat has past away after this place. I'm trying to leave reviews everywhere I can find. I feel so numb today because of the experience we went through just mostly what our cat went through. She gave birth on Nov 16th. She seem to be doing ok after the birth. Just on Nov 17th morning she was bleeding to much. We called around to vets and a vet recommended this place. She was there around 11am till 9pm. I called back a few times to see how she's doing and if any updates. They seemed annoyed with me calling even though she said she would of called back with updates. They never did and life or death for our cat I'm trying to stay calm and wait thinking she's in good hands. They the last time I called they said oh ya you can come pick her up now that she's doing better an that her bleeding stopped. We are so excited to bring her home, we get there we pay of course to get our baby back. They bring her to us with her paper work saying that she's bleeding a minumin. I ask them, is she going to be ok? I thought you guys said she was done bleeding? They said she'll be ok and they want her to come home and start nursing right away that that will heal her. I look at her and I can see how bad she look in her face. Just I'm trusting the vets in this moment. We bring her home and we live a half hr away so it's a pretty long car ride for a sick kitty. We get home and do what the vets say. She didn't look good at all. She went into a seizure and past away 10 mins after coming home. She past away knowing she was loved. At home, in her safe place. I did call the vets and called them out on this and they said well we thought she was going to be ok. THOUGHT YOU THOUGHT! "She needed blood" to as well as they said. Why not offer giving her blood! Her family was in shock all day with the mix emotions on hereing she's not going to make it, and then she is back and forth a few times! They didn't offer to give her blood as I thought they would of done that knowing how much she lost! They did not care they only care about the money. I believe that cus this and that they ask how much we had on hand. We could of got more money! We wanted her to live because we love her! We lost our Baby Girl because of this vets and there lack of caring. I brought our kitty to my vets the next day and told them this. And they listen and will not recommend this vets and will do research. They care. I been with them for so many years with all the cats I had/have. I had sick ones that live so long because of my main vets I go to. They would of took our little girl if they had more doctors. They never referred us to blue pearl a different place did and I will be calling that one to let them know. Sorry for Grammer if I had some. I'm so sad, hurt, empty. I have alot of mix feeling, just it's nothing compared to what my cat went through. I miss and Love you. RIP
