Great service, I ordered a book from Europe, shipping was free and the book arrived in time period they mentioned while ordering (10-15 bussines days). The only small downside is that you don't get the notification the day the book arrives at your adress but other than that great and fast service, and the book was also signed by author which was a nice additional touch. Would recommend! :)

My book didn't get delivered within the advised timeframe and when I checked online, it seemed that it hadn't even been dispatched. No communication from Book depository. None. When I got in touch, they told me that they didn't have it in stock but I could cancel it. So I immediately asked them to cancel it, but a few hours later they got back to me saying they can't do this anymore because miraculously my book has just been dispatched on that same date. I got my book (past the event I needed it for) but I don't trust a service that needs chasing and then lies about your product.
Please spare me from the meaningless "Please accept my apologies for this situation. Customer feedback like yours is very important" stuff. That's not the impression I got from the communications and it only proves you hire someone to copy and paste. But not that you care. Instead, do better next time for your other customers.

Cannot provide the basic service they offer. Not fit for purpose. Surely not a business that can survive much longer.
So I pre-ordered a book in late November. A few days later they email me to say “Good news - your pre-order is on its way”.. A month goes by without any arrival and as I’ve ordered the book as a Christmas present, I start to worry. When I enquire about the order I’m breezily informed that they can’t obtain the book and can’t say when they will be able to obtain the book so would I like a refund. Now it’s not a rare book, it’s a current bestseller. It’s available everywhere. I ask for the refund of £17.90 and buy the book from Amazon for £10.00. The book arrives from Amazon before the refund. They could have ordered it from Amazon themselves and sent it to me and still been in profit! This is why I’ll be surprised if they’re still in business this time next year. It’s ridiculous, amusing even but also a shame. We’re encouraged to support businesses other than Amazon but with this type of behaviour it’s not possible.

We placed an order for 7 books to help our child revise for his exams.
Instead of shipping them together, the company shipped piece meal and we only received 5 of 7 books.
The company does not provide a phone number to speak to someone and can only be contacted via email or web based submissions.
They offered to reship but only after one month of non-receipt. On reship ent they have again shipped piece meal and we have only received one of the books.

I wish book depository would spent more time processing my order and less time spamming me with book deals. I hadn’t realised the delivery times for a book were nearly four weeks - would recommend the local providers next time.

at the end of October I pre-ordered a book that was due to come out in early December and get to me by Christmas. My pre-order was cancelled in mid-December without a stated reason and the money refunded. The book is actually available on TBD website now at a higher price that the agreed pre-order cost. Contact with 3 different customer service reps has reached the same unsatisfactory conclusion: they apologise for any inconvenience caused, but will not sell the book at the pre-order price.
I had had no problem ordering with TBD in the past, but in this case I am very unhappy that they did not deliver the book on time, and now if I still want to buy it, it will be at a higher price.

Ordered a book at the start of December two weeks later told, you’d be happy to know your getting a refund and cancel img your order. Got in touch with costumer service, Useless, said that I could order it again when I pointed out it was still in stock. I have ordered a few times I’m the past and never an issue hence not giving it 0 stars. But really not a helpful service when things go wrong

I was patiently waiting for preordered book from March 15, 2022. But month after month same answer from customer service. they are claiming there is a problem with suppliers and now they are selling the same book for bigger price while claiming they can deliver book order 9 months ago

I still haven’t received my order although I ordered it on the 1st of December ! I’m really disappointed now because I need it for a Christmas present of a student and if I knew that I wouldn’t get it before Christmas I would have bought it elsewhere ! They say they have no tracking number and I should go to the post office ! I went and of course they can’t track it !!! They told me to wait until the 25th to allow for delays !! I have been using BD to buy my books for years, with previously fairly reliable service. So I have never had to encounter their customer service staff... until now. This month I had a delivery where there was a book missing. I understand, that happens, it was not a big deal. But once customer service got involved it went downhill fast. It was some of the most unhelpful and uncooperative help I have ever received. No help was forthcoming, despite having paid for the item that had not been delivered. It has put me off using this company again, if that is how they treat their customers when things go wrong. It is hard not to draw a comparison to Amazon's excellent customer service. I have previously resisted buying my books at Amazon, but I am now considering buying my books elsewhere, where I can get the help I need if something goes wrong with my order.

Eight books, worth over $200, ordered on 23 November for my family in Singapore. No book has arrived by 23 December. The courier company, DAI, on their tracking site, states: ‘Customer information manifested’. End of story. I’ve bought books from Book Depository for many years with few problems. That was when they used DHL, as I understand. These gifts mean a lot to my grandchildren and myself as we live in different countries. Eight books have vanished, without trace. I can’t trust Book Depository for any future purchases.
