lovely shop! amazing variety... sad they decided to close!

Recieved only 1 of the 3 books I had ordered. Paid $41 for the lot.

Where's my money? Where are my books? Make it make sense.

Incredibly book store while it was still open, affordable and quick service. Miss it desperately! Ordered many of my books from this fabulous site!

I made two orders recently and none of them has arrived. Customer service doesn't care. They just point to the rule: If your order hasn’t arrived by the Estimated Delivery Date, please complete our Contact Us Form. within 14 days after the latest Estimated Delivery Date shown in your Order Status. Our Customer Service team will then be able to help you.
I have contacted them in 14 days period but that was the answer. Ridicilous! Yes my another order was one day later so it was 15 days. But they dont care for both orders which were made separately.
I highly doubt this is legal. They can't write any stupidity to the rules just like that. Unacceptable! This is fraud! The order has to be delivered! If not, you can not say we don't care in any reason!!!

Been with Book Depository for years.

During covid times the orders were almost always late, and it seemed to be the same with my last order and after calling the post office multiple times and getting an answer that they have not received it I contacted Book Depository customer service and the answer was:

" For non receipt of orders, you are required to contact us within 14 days after the last Estimated Delivery Date shown in your Order Status or within 14 days of the time frame provided on our "When will my order arrive?" help page. As it has been over 14 days of when we would expect your order to be delivered we are unable to take further action or provide a refund..."

So basically if they ship late, don't ship at all and you are not complaining at the right time that's it and you have lost your money...

This is horrible customer service! Submitting a complaint with the consumer protection bureau.

i ordered a book about 2 months ago and it never arrived i emailed them about this and they said quote on quote they forgot i ordered the book.

Only received half of my order. Suspecting something's amiss I contacted them after 3 weeks, not 2, and they are unable to take further action or provide a refund. Cool, I guess, I got 2 books out of 5. Thank god I won't be able to order from this site anymore cause it's getting shut down. Horrible first and last experience. I'm out.

I stumbled upon this book store and found exactly what I was looking for! The book had a nice packaging and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

When Book Depository announced they were closing down, I had to make a few final purchases. I ordered 8 books and they all arrived yesterday. I think it too less than a week for them all to arrive, all in beautiful condition and I am thrilled to bits. Thank you Book Depository.

I’ve ordered many books from Book Depository. I’ve only recently experienced poor deliveries. I’ve had several packages go missing (tracking never updates) and I just received an order today (4/20/23) that was horribly packed. One side of the box was opened! There was only a single piece of shipping tape that prevented the book from falling out of the box. The book appears to be in ok shape with a minor ding on the edge. I’m not surprised if this is how my other orders have gotten lost in the mail. I’m hoping the remaining of my orders are packed better!

I only gave it two stars since I have only recieved half of my order (I ordered the book for my students).
The first half of my order arrived fast and

I was always very satisfied with my orders and i ordered alot from BD, but with the last order i only got 1 book but orderd 2. I was paitently wanting for book 2 to be processed for 1 month. When i wrote an email asking about it they said they don't know when they will get it back in stock and since they are closing i asked for a refund. They said that the refund will be in my account in 1-3 days but i still haven't recieved it. I'm really dissapointed!

Extremely sad to see they're closing. I bought a book from them only once, back in 2020. But it was a fantastic experience. They were one of the true pioneers in "Worldwide Free Delivery". At the time, to my surprise, the book was priced even cheaper than Amazon India! And I got it delivered to India within 2 weeks! It didn't catch any customs duty. r/BookDepository has a pinned post with a list of Book Depository alternatives. None of them come close to BD. Thank you BD, you'll always be remembered by book lovers.

My books came in good condition and within the delivery time advised. I am so happy with my new stack and can’t wait to start reading!

Not good at all, my order was delayed for so long and i received only one of the books! Moving on, with my refund, wasnt even made!
Very unsatisfied, don´t waste your time!

Ordered a book via Amazon Marketplace but cancelled the following day. So far it has taken ten days of messages to The Book Depository and Amazon to get nowhere. Amazon says The Book Depository has to cancel the order and refund me. The Book Depository say they have (when they haven't) and Amazon is to blame. I am stuck in the middle with no book and no money.

This company sent amazing books with free delivery to Slovenia and everywhere else in the world.

The fact that its closing now is horrible!!

The books in the future will obviously be accessible just for the priviliged ones! This is slow beginnig of an end for human race.

Also, the new copy of Pan Books - Gone with the Wind, that I ordered, has totally unnecessary Publisher's Note and Introduction which I took as insulting and condencending to readers of Gone with the Wind! If the text had not been original, I would return it.

The World is spinning in weird directons and it makes me really sad.

I ordered the book Spiritual Astrology to be sent to me in Japan and it never arrived. It has been over two months since I ordered it.
