I visited Kingston upon Thames Boots…

I visited Kingston upon Thames Boots hearing centre today with one hearing aid which wouldn’t charge and seemed dead. After ten minutes I was out of the store with the item repaired and fully working.
Sahra was kind, helpful, efficient, friendly and reassuringly capable. She gave me useful advice, too.
Altogether it was a calm and easy experience.

Cancelled Appointments

For the third successive time over several months my hearing review appointment has been cancelled by Boots. The first two were cancelled at barely thirty minutes notice. I suppose they're improving by giving me five days notice! On no occasion have they given me a reason for the cancellation.

The audiologist was kind and knowledgeable.

The audiologist was kind, gentle and efficient. I did end up choosing the most expensive hearing aids that Boots offer so I suppose she was also a great salesperson! I'm happy though, and look forward to the next appointment to collect the aids and learn how to use them.

I had a deeply frustrating experience…

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Kingston Boots pharmacy regarding a prescribed medication. After waiting for over a week, I was informed by a staff member that the delay was entirely due to my GP’s late approval. To convince me, they even showed me their system, which displayed an ambiguous date that they claimed was proof of the GP’s delay.

Feeling unsettled, I called my GP directly from the pharmacy and discovered that my prescription had actually been approved on the very same day I requested it. When I shared this with the Boots staff member, they failed to apologise for the false claim. Shockingly, instead of addressing their mistake, they tried to pressure me into signing for a prescription I had explicitly refused to collect. Imagine being asked to sign as if I had taken the medication when I had clearly not!

This experience was both alarming and disappointing, and it has seriously undermined my trust in Boots as a reliable pharmacy.

More good than bad

Pro: Young lady dealing with me was nice, calm and helpful. Prices seem reasonable.

Con: I went to quite an effort to attend the appointment, then it got rescheduled (pushed back by some 3 weeks)

Haven't got my hearing aid yet, so this review may change.

Good experience

I had an appointment yesterday with the audiologist. I expected to need hearing aids. The audiologist I saw was professional, patient, gave good explanations. I walked around for 20 minutes with hearing aids in. We then had a chat. We both agreed that I should wait a year and then be reassessed. There was no pressure. Very good experience.
