Two appointments booked- two…

Two appointments booked- two appointments cancelled, both an hour prior to my visit. Person who contacted me couldn’t have been less interested in my opinion The advert is correct! Should have gone to Specsavers!!

Walked out!

I had an appointment this morning at 10.15: the major roadworks all over the centre of Southport are causing traffic chaos and huge parking problems. Finding a space proved very difficult and unfortunately I had to park much further away than I anticipated which caused me to be late ( 25 minutes according to Debbie, which she was prepared to argue about) There was no greeting from Debbie when she held the door open so I said ‘Hello’ no reply! I asked where I should sit and then her first words to me were ‘you’re late’. At no point throughout did she address me by name! I explained about the parking problem and she said something to the effect that I should have done something faster and told me at least 3 times that my appointment was at 10.30 and I said I wasn’t going to argue about it: she said she wasn’t arguing. Now, I understand that being late causes a real problem but I found her officious and supercilious and, strangely, anything I said she contradicted…which is rather rude. She seemed to want to give me ‘what for’. After a few minutes I said ‘I’m off’ and left. Very disappointing but by that time I had decided I did not want to pursue the appointment with her. I shall never know how good an audiologist she is and Boots will not be benefitting from providing me with Aids costing £2k-£3k. Perhaps Debbie should be taught to have a softer approach which would have elicited profound apologies from me. Bye Bye Boots,

Caring, thorough and knowledgeable.

From the very beginning I felt welcome and cared for.
Debbie took the time to explain everything clearly and displayed a wealth of knowledge about the science of hearing. I was made to feel comfortable during the tests and she was willing to answer any questions put to her.

All staff I encountered on my visits…

All staff I encountered on my visits were most courteous and helpful.
The Audiologist , Debbie , is obviously an expert in her chosen specialism. all my questions were answered with clarity and in a way I could understand the medical and scientific aspects.
Her good humoured approach and patience were greatly appreciated.

Urgent repair needed

Urgent repair needed, travelling abroad for business. Called into store 9th December. Audiology “closed”at w’ends. Left my aid having been advised by another hearing company that the repair was simple and Southport Boots Audiologist should be able to repair it but not Boots!! They have sent my aid away so business trip this Sunday abandoned!!! Shame on you Boots. Next aid elsewhere in fact anywhere but Boots!!! Amazing how all of the reviews are referring to the “purchase” of aids. Not the appalling aftercare or repair if needed and of course no-one answers the phone or mans the reception desk. Wake up Boots, pop into any of the many h-aid dispenser companies near the Southport store to see how it’s done!! Heaven help those of us unfortunate enough to need service/repair over Christmas……..just look at the opening hours for Boots Hearing in Southport. AMAZING…….unbelievable!!
