The experience I’ve had with Botonics has been great! My very first experience with a private dermatologist, and I think I’ll be keeping it this way after the time I’ve had with them.
I was initially slightly sceptical since it seemed too good to be true. I only knew of private dermatologists that you had to be with in person, or of course, through the NHS. However, because you can do most of the process online, such as the consultation and the checkups, it was highly convenient for me and helped with my busy schedule.

For a few years, I suffered from bad acne, and through the NHS, after countless months of waiting, I was able to get prescribed Roaccutane. Unfortunately, after a few years, my acne returned and having experienced the terrible waiting time with the NHS I decided to seek other providers/remedies. Luckily, I stumbled upon Botonics!
My experience with Botonics has been excellent. After an initial consultation that was booked within a week, I received the prescription within the next 2 weeks. Going through Botonics allowed me to avoid the tedious process the NHS has in place.

Since I had previously completed a cycle of Roaccutane, I was very aware of the process and what to expect. Fortunately, this time was much smoother with fewer side effects, i.e. nose bleeds and painful joints. Dr Divya informs you of everything you need to know and what you can do to make the process easier.

Dr Divya helped me through this whole process and checked on me regularly to ensure everything was going as planned. So excellent guidance is provided throughout your medication. The entire team is brilliant and everyone I have interacted with has been incredibly welcoming and helpful.

I found Botonics online after struggling with acne for a few years. I had tried everything - duac, epiduo, tret, doxycycline, lymecyline etc. I just can’t believe the way that the last six months has gone, I look at old pictures in shock. I feel so confident in my skin now!

I had my consultation with Dr Divya in August, who was a great listener and very informative. I always thought that my acne was in that awkward limbo state where my skin definitely wasn’t clear, but perhaps not quite ‘bad’ enough for accutane. Dr Divya assured me that everyone’s experience with the drug is different. She was right! Apart from the dry lips (which you might need tonnes of Aquaphor for), I haven’t had any negative side effects. I just wish I had done my own research a bit sooner, maybe I would have found Botonics earlier than I did.

For me, the purge happened around the 5th or 6th week. It wasn’t anything crazy, but I guess when I was taking a drug everyday for the past month I started to think that maybe it wasn’t working. But I have never had a breakout clear up that quick. And while I had the occasional new spot here and there over the next few months, they were no where near what they were previously. And for the past 10 weeks since finishing my course, my skin has been completely clear. I could not be happier with the results.

The entire process from start to finish has been great. I have had monthly consultations with Dr Divya, regular blood and pregnancy tests, and home-delivered prescriptions. The customer service from Botonics has honestly made the experience a lot more enjoyable.

I first approached Botonics in July 2022 when I was really struggling with my acne and severely oily skin, my confidence was ruined and it was really effecting my mental health to the point where I never wanted to leave the house and when I did I was really self conscious. As a male in their late 20s I wasn’t surrounded by friends who struggled with their skin and this made the whole experience so much worse for me.

I approached botonics and got an appointment with Dr Divya the next day and had a lovely chat with her team on the back of the appointment too, the cost of the treatment was really fair and a no brainier for me when i was reviewing the reviews for them. I was on the medication after some blood tests that I was able to send back via post and quickly started the medication all within a week.
Dr Divya checked in on me every few weeks and helped me reach the correct dose needed to finish the treatment. It was totally worth it as it has cleared my acne completely, the support doesn’t end there either as the team have kindly prescribed me some products to keep my skin clear going forward and have made it clear that I can always email and contact them if I need any advice.

I am writing this review to share my experience with the isotretinoin treatment from Botonics and to express my gratitude for the wonderful service I received.

I have struggled with persistent acne for many years and have tried numerous products and treatments, but nothing seemed to work effectively. The one thing that made this whole process so much easier than going through my GP was that there was no 6 month waiting line for me to get on Isotretinoin.

Before I found Botonics, I’d had acne for 18 years on and off and had tried everything from different medications to prescription skincare - none of which had worked for me. I was on a waiting list for roaccutane for a long time with the NHS but there was a huge backlog from Covid-19 and no sign of being able to start treatment soon.

After contacting Botonics, I had a consultation within two days with a lovely, kind and understanding doctor, Dr Divya. I was able to start treatment soon after completing a home blood test kit which was really convenient. The team were so helpful in answering all my questions and explaining how the process worked. They were also extremely organised in arranging monthly checkups with the doctor - I never had to chase things up.

Initially I was afraid that the side effects of the medication would be awful but I couldn’t have had a better experience on roaccutane. I would describe my side effects as mild and they included dry lips, dry eyes, some redness on my face, occasional muscle cramps and occasional fatigue. But this was nothing compared to what I was expecting. I used Eucerin Aquaphor for my dry lips and eye drops to help my eyes. The dosage was tailored to my weight throughout, which I think really helped reduce the side effects.

The medication has completely transformed my skin and given me a confidence that I’ve never had before. It started to work in three days for me and within two weeks, 80% of my spots had disappeared which was amazing! My skin didn’t feel dry, tight or uncomfortable throughout but I did find that makeup didn’t sit as well, as it showed up some dry patches. But, in all honesty, I didn’t need makeup for most of my treatment and still don’t wear it now, as my skin is so clear!

I found Botonics after a long struggle with acne and they have undoubtedly transformed my skin. I have beautiful clear skin now! The entire process of starting the medication was so fast and easy and I loved the regular consultations with the doctor which are a great way of checking in and voicing any concerns. My skin was really painful before, it was textured, painful pimples and I also had a picking problem which was only exacerbated by the fact that I had acne and it seemed never ending. I tried pretty much everything and the picking only scarred my skin further. As a final attempt, I found Botonics by searching for roaccutane online and got in contact immediately. Every month you have to send a pregnancy test and pics of your skin to track your progress and based on your progress the doctor changes your dose accordingly. Personally for me the side effects weren’t even that bad. My lips were obviously extremely dry but my face skin did not dry out at sll. My eyes were really dry too but I took eye drops for that which helped mitigate the issue.My nose bleeds stopped after the first few months and I was regularly changing dose based on my needs which was great.

My only regret is that I didn’t find Botonics before!! I recommend to anyone who was struggling for so long like I was. I had been struggling with acne since secondary school and although some antibiotics through the NHS helped, the majority of the treatments were disappointing and my acne eventually turned cystic. I found the lack of contact with a dermatologist (and the several years long waiting list to see one on the NHS!) all too much - so, I decided to google how I could get straight to a private dermatologist within the intention of going on Roaccutane. This led me to this exact trust pilot page where the clinic has raving genuine 5* reviews so I decided to take the plunge.

The initial consultation was free and Dr Divya was so kind, friendly and informative about the treatment that it really put me at ease knowing I was in good hands - I was especially nervous about the potential side effects I had read about online.

About a month in, I could already see a big difference in the texture of my skin as well as reduction in acne and although some I had some minor side effects (dry skin, muscle aches), Dr Divya was always quick to advise me on how best to manage them and I eventually got over all of them towards the end of my treatment. I found botonics after trying many kinds of acne products and skincare lines and over the counter products that really made no difference to my skin because I didn't believe it addressed the root cause which for me was absolutely an overproduction of sebum. I knew roccutane could address this issue and was happy to go down a private route especially with the current state of the NHS.

I contacted the group and heard back within the same day to arrange a free consultation with an experienced doctor who was available for me the whole way through the process. She made sure it was the right treatment for me and arranged medication doses and delivery after an initial blood taste to ensure it was safe for me to take. Very soon after this I was on the Roccutane journey!

The doctor will talk through side effects which are normal and what to expect, for me it was dealing with lots of dryness which is typical and can be managed through moisturising and eye drops. I could feel the medication working after a couple of weeks when my skin was significantly less oily, I personally didn't purge but I know this can vary and my skin started clearing up and looking really good after a couple of months. No other skin care products had made my skin look this good and I was really happy I went for it.

I feel great about my skin now having completed treatment, I was wary to do it because of the side effects but if nothing else is working for you I'd say go for it because the side effects can be managed and the dose discussed with the doctor so that the process is as comfortable as possible.

I used Botonics to treat my acne with Isotretinoin and my experience from start to finish was excellent. They are helpful, responsive and the treatment has genuinely changed my life. I had always suffered from occasional cystic spots on my chin but when I reached my early 30s it became far worse and I started getting multiple cysts at the same time, as well as painful spots all over my neck and back and shoulders. I had tried everything (antibiotics, topical treatments, herbal supplements, laser, etc) and nothing worked - my skin got so bad at one point that I didn't want to leave my flat.

So, let me just start by saying that I have dealt with sever acne since i was 13 (now 20) and the NHS has never failed to make things worse with a number of failed treatments and extremely long wait times which has always made me feel hopeless and unfortunately my acne only ever got worse as i aged.

I have suffered with adult acne for close to a decade, and have tried the usual antibiotics and topicals to control it. The only treatment that was able to clear my skin was birth control, which was a temporary solution to a long term problem. After coming off birth control my skin was the worst it had ever been, and so I sought accutane treatment.

Having briefly been prescribed accutane via the NHS, I can say that the process of receiving treatment privately was much easier and quicker. From my inquiry I was offered a free virtual consultation within days, at a time that suited me. I was given a thorough outline of my treatment plan and there was no pressure to sign up for treatment. I had been dealing with acne for the past 3 years and I had exhausted all the usual oral and topical antibiotics that a GP can prescribe so I was referred to an NHS dermatologist who put me on roaccutane for 5 months but took me off too prematurely and my acne came back very quickly. I couldn't get another referral for months and I had my second year of uni coming up after summer and I was very self-conscious about my skin. I have tried all manner of acne / rosacea treatments over the years - with little sustained success. Accutane felt like my last real option. NHS lead times were at >12 months, and I wasn't confident I'd even get a prescription, so I decided to go private with botonics. The initial consultation was quick and reassuring. I am 26, and have suffered from acne since I was 13 - so literally half of my life. Throughout the process, there was the odd side effect that would appear, but they were all manageable and would subside in a day or two. The main one that persisted was dryness, but even then, it wasn't too intense when managed with the right products - all recommended to me so I didn't need to research myself. I have friends who have done isotretinoin before and they were surprised to see how manageable my experience was - I put this down to how spot on Botonics has been at analysing my body and considering my dosage.

Despite beginning during a very hot Summer in London, I didn't have any issues with sunburn or excessive dryness - instead I was able to enjoy the season and feel confident about myself in a way I haven't felt ever before. I would say that during the 6 month period, I experienced maybe 4/5 spots, and they all came and went much quicker than they would before starting treatment.

Of course I wish I had done this a lot sooner, and I put it down to all the negative information out there that put me off - it took me coming to my breaking point with my skin that I was finally willing to try it. My skin is so smooth, I have no scars or redness, no excessive oiliness. My face looks different, I feel like I look like how I am meant to look - I look back at the picture I took on day 1 and I don't recognise that person. This confidence boost has opened me up socially, and has allowed me to come out of my shell in ways I didn't expect.

I’ve suffered with acne for 10 years now, I have tried all cosmetic you can think of that’s on the market, I’ve had prescription creams as well as antibiotics and spent tons of many on facials that we’re supposed to be cure my acne after a few visits. After many fails and no change at all I’ve decided to go for Accutane. With Botonics I very much enjoyed that I didn’t have to attend any consultations in person which saves A LOT of time and I was able to start the treatment basically immediately. Their customer service team was available also during the weekends so the communication was very smooth. I was very lucky with no side effects apart from dryness, which is a very small price to pay for spotless skin. The purging stage lasted roughly 2 months but I wouldn’t say that my acne was worse during that time, it just kept “happening”, however, i knew that it is part of the journey and it will eventually stop. As it did. My nails were also much more delicate during my accutane journey and my skin was more prone to scratches. But that is, once again, part of the process. I think it was somewhere between the 3rd and 4th month when my skin got completely acne free to the point when I wouldn’t even get a hormonal breakout before my period (which would absolutely not be the case before). Now it’s been a month that I’ve been off the treatment and my skin is completely acne-free! I don’t get breakouts even when I’m on my period and honestly I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. And it goes without saying my mental health has improved so much as well since I feel much more confident now. It is a pricey treatment but it’s 100% worth it.

I was acne prone since my teenage but I managed it well with a diligent skincare routine. However, after the Covid Vaccine, I had an adverse reaction and an uncontrollable acne attack. I have suffered on and off with skin issues for a number of years, and tried a number of over the counter products with mixed but ultimately little success.

Via a google search I cam across Botanics and made an initial enquiry with regards to Roaccutane medication. The initial consultation was made very quickly following this and I had a call with a very knowledgeable and friendly doctor who talked me through all the information and steps required.
