Great Service

Excellent service from Peter at the Kilwinning branch. Received a personalised video of the car within a couple of hours of reserving it online and a telephone call with Peter also. Test drove it and purchased on the same day. Peter was very helpful and answered and questions I had and arranged collection within 5 days.
Very smooth process and hassle free. Will definitely be in touch when it’s time for another change.

Good service again at Bridgend Kilwinning

Peter made our car buying experience so easy and quick. He took my wife out for a test drive and explained everything about the car to her. My wife was very pleased with the car. We have had 3 or 4 cars from Bridgend over the years and always deal with Peter. On the day of pick up for the car the car was ready and again Peter spent time with my wife explaining the things she had on her list that she wanted to know.

We also have our cars serviced at Bridgend and we are always well served.

Thanks to Peter and the team

Gaslit from sales team numerous times

Gaslit from sales team numerous times, sold a car that shouldn't have passed an MOT then wasted my own time having to take it back when I'm fact if done right, the issue wouldn't have occurred. Only interested in a sale, once they have your money then customer service goes straight out the window (sales team only, Nan and Kevin were the saving grace at the repairs department)

Worst Decision Ever Made

I purchased a vehicle from Bridgend Motorgroup Ayrshire towards the end of March 2025. Since purchase, the car has returned to the garage seven times.

Early on, the vehicle was released with damaged suspension. Although this was repaired, I was later advised that a gator joint had been damaged during the work, causing an oil leak, and the drive shaft in the same area also required repair. A third-party garage later suggested the drive shaft issue may have been linked to this leak.

Just over six months after purchase, shortly after the warranty ended, the vehicle required a new timing chain. While the engine was stripped, I agreed to replace the clutch kit as advised. After returning for a recommended 500-mile courtesy check, a coolant warning light appeared the following day.

An independent garage then identified visible leakage underneath the vehicle and advised that the car appeared to have left Bridgend Motorgroup with a detached coolant pipe, a significant oil leak, and a faulty engine mount. The car was towed back.

Within a week, the engine management light returned. I was then advised there was a DPF issue, which was sent away for specialist cleaning. After collection, I noticed an abnormal grinding-type noise. I was later advised the DPF repair had not resolved the issue and that further diagnostics and software updates were required.

As a result of these ongoing issues, I have suffered significant financial loss, including being unable to work my second job, with lost earnings in the thousands.

I requested the vehicle be taken back under the Consumer Rights Act within six months on more than one occasion; these requests were declined. I was initially advised a refund might be possible, but this was later retracted. I was then advised my car could be traded in, but only at its current value, around £7,000 less than what I paid six months earlier.

I also raised concerns about being allowed to leave the garage with a vehicle I did not believe was safe to drive and was advised that this was my responsibility.

Communication was poor throughout. I struggled to contact my sales agent, paid £600 for brake pads and discs after being told they were not covered by warranty (later discovering they were), and did not receive a refund. I also received a police speeding notice relating to a vehicle I had already traded in, which had since been sold on.

For transparency, video footage relating to the timing chain and clutch kit replacement can be provided for context to the standard of repair as I observed it.

Due to the seriousness and frequency of these issues, I will be submitting a formal complaint to Trading Standards for independent review.

This review reflects my personal experience and opinion. Others may have different experiences, but I believe it is important to share mine so others can make an informed decision.

Service Failures.

Sales person was excellent. Craig was very helpful and gave excellent support through the process.
However, the service team had not put enough fuel in the car resulting in the car breaking down before I got the car to a garage. (1 mile away from the depot) this was a disappointing element to the sale. Craig came to the rescue with fuel to allow me to take the car to the service area. There the service team were less than hospitable making no attempt to keep me informed of the situation regarding timescale and after 30 minutes I decided to call my husband to come and collect me.

Volvo XC40 warranty repair excellent service

We bought a Volvo XC 40 from the garage and had noticed that the automatic boot Struts were creaking so we arranged for them to be replaced on the warranty. As i was travelling down the night before the car lost all power and was showing an engine management light. When I dropped the car off I explained the new issue and the service team took the time to diagnose and repair this as well as the boot strut repair that was being carried out. After that they were nice enough to wash and hoover and clean the car prior to returning it so i could travel home all this was done under the warranty.
Thanks for some great service I could not fault your service team for they way they handled the extra issue.

Regards
Allan Taylor

Bad experience

Drove the car out the showroom, drove 20 miles home and there was an engine management light on and a major oil leak. I agreed for them to investigate the problems when I was told the extent I wanted my money and the car I traded in and was told no
