This is such a great company with…
This is such a great company with friendly service and above all excellent quality of work and merchandise that surpassed my expectations. We have bought items and had some work done to improve items bought elsewhere and without exception the results were of the best quality.
This time I have decided I must take time to write and give this full star review as it is so well deserved! Thank you Gary!
Gary was really friendly and helpful
Gary was really friendly and helpful. He measured me up for the perfect bespoke Irvin Style flying jacket at his workshop. The jacket is excellent quality and really great value for such good quality.

The wait was worth the final product!
For as long as I can remember, I have coveted a proper RAF bomber jacket. My partner has been scouring the web for some time and found Gary and the British Sheepskin Company. What a find! We travelled in from South Central Wales to be measured up, and then back again 5 weeks later to collect. All I can say is WOW!! I finally have the coveted treasure! I didn't want to take it off! Superb crafstmanship, and feels like a 2nd skin! My partner landed up buying a Merino gilet for himself aswell. Both items worth every penny amd crafted by a master in his field! Thank you Gary & team!
Poor returns service
Poor returns service. They hide information and are sneaky with returns or customer enquires. They should disclose returns and other polices, when buying in store.
Both jackets are perfection
Both jackets are perfection. Gary was brilliant, kind and helpful and is a master at what he does. I could not be happier with my jackets they are glorious.
Fantastic Sheepskin Flying jacket
Gary made me an RAF Sheepskin flying jacket. I needed a bespoke size as I’m tall and skinny. The jacket is absolutely beautiful and it fits perfectly. It is very well put together with lots of excellent small details. These jackets are not cheap but are worth every penny, for the result is a hand made jacket that will last several lifetimes.
Sheepskin flying jacket
my order of the Aged brown sheepskin flying jacket, matching aviator hat and gloves arrived today all fit perfectly and are absolutely stunning and top quality that's me ready for the next Ice Age now well done to Gary and the team many thanks, Bill
2 of the best jackets money can buy.
I've had my both my jackets for a few weeks now and I absolutely love them. They are like wearable blankets. Gary is absolutely on point and I would recommend anyone looking for a sheepskin to give him a call. They aren't for everyone for whatever reason but if it's your thing Gary is the man to see. I should add I normally overheat in regular jackets but because these are natural I don't just maintain my normal body temperature so if you have that problem like me maybe you need a nice sheepskin or bomber jacket like me.
Everyone who's seen me in them loves them and when tried them on say they are so comfortable and cosy.

I ordered a scarf 2 weeks ago. I have emailed twice to ask for an expected delivery date and had no reply. Really not good customer service at all.
Bespoke face mask
For an upcoming Arctic Ultra, I was looking for a natural face mask to offer extra protection from the biting wild and cold. Based on a very loose idea, Gary was able to fabricate a perfect, bespoke solution - far better than I imagined. Like Gary said “you don’t see sheep shiver”!
Sheepskin coat alteration
We travelled 173 miles to take a sheepskin coat to be altered by Gary, we wasn’t disappointed,Gary pulled all the stops out to get it altered in time for us travelling back the next day, highly recommend, top bloke
A beautiful black sheepskin jacket.
Having tried for many years to buy a Sheepskin jacket we visited Gary's workshop in Jan 2024. After 9mths of market research we visited again and ordered a jacket to my requirements. It is black and longer than the standard and has a few little non standard details. As promised the jacket arrived after 4wks.
It is beautiful, just beautiful! My wife, who is a seamstress, is amazed by the quality of the work.
It wasn't cheap but I've got the best of British workmanship! Just perfection.
B3 Sheepskin Waistcoat
Whenever possible, I prefer to support British businesses that make products in the United Kingdom, and in particular, small British family businesses.
It was by chance that I happened on the British Sheepskin Co website, and I am so glad that I did.
I ordered a size large (42” chest) B3 Sheepskin Waistcoat. I am a measured chest size 41” over a winter weight pullover and I chose correctly as the waistcoat is exactly as I expected: a perfect fit for me.
A gilet/waistcoat/vest, call it what you will, is a very useful and highly versatile garment. I have goose down filled waistcoats, synthetic filled waistcoats and pile waistcoats, all made in the UK. A waistcoat is for me, more useful than a jacket (although I have down, synthetic and pile jackets) as it can be layered even more incrementally than a jacket.
I was searching for a sheepskin waistcoat with a high collar and a good depth of shearling pile, around 18-22 mm. That sort of specification, would I estimated, give me both the warmth I desired in both the core area as well as the all important (for me) neck .
As I spend most of my time, year round, outdoors in Northern Scotland where we still have (for the UK) very cold winters with temperatures often at -10 C and below, the specification that I desired was, I deemed, essential.
As I expected, the B3 Sheepskin Waistcoat I bought from British Sheepskin Co, was outstanding, both in design as well as advertised, very supple indeed with deep honey coloured shearling.
The waistcoat has two vertical panels front and back (the front panels can be seen in the photo on the website) and the depth of the shearling appears to be around 20mm or so and is very soft. The bottom horizontal panel has leather side adjusters with brass buckle and eyelets.
The neck collar is deep and luxuriant shearling and can be held vertically by a leather adjuster and buckle. A leather “keeper” loop has been thoughtfully added to keep the adjuster out of the way when not in use.
There is a substantial storm flap of approximately 85mm wide under the heavy duty, brass YKK zipper to prevent wind and rain ingress. This zipper can’t be seen clearly on the photo on the website – it can be seen on both the RAF Original Flying Jacket and Gunner jacket.
All stitching is of an exemplary standard in keeping with the garment as a whole.
The side pockets are superb with a depth of shearling similar to the main body panels. When the gilet is zippered the pockets neatly cover my kidneys giving a shearling depth of approximately 40mm.
This British Sheepskin Co, B3 Sheepskin Waistcoat illustrates the finest standard of craftmanship seldom seen in a world of increasing mediocracy.
Based on the purchase of my B3 Sheepskin Waistcoat, I can highly recommend British Sheepskin Co.
Best coat i've ever bought
After doing some research into buying an authentic sheepskin flying jacket I found the British sheepskin co. I have seen so leaser copies and wanted something more bespoke as I am 6'6" tall with long arms. After calling Gary he invited me down to his workshop so I could get measured for one. after a quick cup of coffee he gave me a tour of the workshop and measured me up. My coat has just arrived and I'm over the moon fit's like a glove and the quality is exquisite. There are cheaper ones available but I don't think you'll find better. Great service , Great Jacket .many thanks Gary
Flying Jacket used on motorbike, Perfect.
My husband wanted a traditional sheepskin flying jacket to wear over a ghost-armoured shirt on his bike. I was really nervous about spending so much money on line. I chatted to Gary on the phone, we discussed the intended use, and as a fellow bike enthusiast Gary perfectly understood. He warned me about lead time (2-3 weeks). He also explained that they can replace individual panels on their clothing (eg damaged from falling off) which was hugely reassuring.
The jacket arrived. Oh the luxurious feel! Quality is amazing, both the skin and the workmanship. Lovely soft leather and thick soft wool. Husband has never been so warm on a bike, used it in the recent frosty weather. He loves it.
I'm going to save up and get a Toscana gilet.
I don't think the quality could be improved.
Look no further for your RAF flying jacket...
If you are looking to purchase a replica 1940's RAF flying jacket - look no further. You have found the right company! My wife and I travelled from the West Midlands to Somerset to visit the British Sheepskin team. That visit, in itself, was worth the trip. Gary was incredibly welcoming and spent a significant amount of time with us discussing various options. What a nice guy and so extraordinarily professional.
Having ordered the jacket I wanted it arrived exactly on time, as promised. And, oh my word. As I opened the box the jacket was folded beautifully inside a cellophane bag. It looked so good I could hardly bring myself to open it! This is already easily my prize possession. Gary and his family team have done an astonishing job. It is perfection and I am beyond delighted.
So, if you are in the market for a similar jacket please take my advice. Don't waste your time considering other options. Just go to the British Sheepskin company. You will not be disappointed.
Massive thanks to all involved. It is really wonderful to actually have something produced in this country and with such precision and skill. Gary should be extremely proud of himself. What a superb product!

I had been looking for a Sheepskin Flying Jacket for quite some time, when I came across the British Sheepskin Company. One of their jackets was called “Gunnar” and its style and look was what I had been looking for. It arrived and it looked superb, fitted like a glove and was of a very high quality. I contacted the company to track the delivery and was contacted out of hours with a date. A great company to deal with.
