I purchased the aged RAF flying jacket, and I could not be more thrilled with it. It looks fantastic; it smells wonderful; it fits just right and is so soft and comfortable, and I can't believe how warm it is! The quality is top of the line, and the team is so friendly and helpful. Well worth the investment. It's so well made; I'll be wearing it for decades.

My 5 star rating is based upon the quality of the coat that I received – it is much better than the pictures. If you are hesitant to spend this amount of money for a coat, put your fears to bed. The amount of effort that Gary puts into his projects is nothing short of incredible. First off let’s be clear, the delivery time quoted on the website is way too optimistic. If you are in a hurry, go buy a cheap knockoff. Plan on waiting much longer and answering lots of questions from both Gary and Jo about this and that on your coat. Trust me though, it is all worth it. I have never dealt with a merchant who was so concerned about the little details and constantly reached out to confirm and ensure that the coat I wanted was the coat they delivered. I live in California, USA, so obviously I purchased this coat solely based on their website. The purchase and minor changes I wanted were handled in a professional manner and were completed better than expected. Yes, they are a small operation, but I believe this is a plus not a negative. The coat you ultimately receive is one of a kind, it is not mass produced, and reflects the quality from a bygone era. This is a coat that you will treasure for years to come. The only negative I have found is the constant stream of questions I have to answer when I wear it!

Wonderful coat - really well made - really warm and a great fit (once I'd ordered the correct size). The sizes are "generous", I would say. I initially ordered a size 12, which I had to return (this process is really easy thanks to the swift email responses) & the replacement size 10 is perfect, (even with a sweater on - although the coat is so warm I can't imagine I'll need one even in the coldest weather).
I must also thank Jo for delaying sending out the replacement coat as I was due to go on holiday, the new coat arrived the day after I returned home.
All in all, a really easy & pleasant experience throughout & I thoroughly recommend the company

Bitterly disappointed with the quality of this Flying jacket and, even more so, the dismissive response from the company. The website says the jacket is "100% British Sheepskin", it isn’t. It’s sheepskin & leather, the sheepskin is lovely but the leather looks & feels really rubbish - it was these leather sections that I was unhappy with. The company refused to help.

They are also in breach a number of UK legislations, namely:-
Trade Descriptions Act 1968-1972
Consumer Rights Act 2015
The Textile Products (Labelling and Fibre Composition) Regulations 2012

I bought from "The British Sheepskin Co.", so I thought, however the invoice shows "Polden Vale Sheepskin Co." and, to confuse things even further, the visa payment was made to ewenique Dot co Dot uk. (Sorry Trustpilot don't allow links.)
I tried to get my money back from my credit card company using section 75 under the Consumer Credit Act however Barcaycard wrote back to me and said:-
"Barclaycard are not able to establish a valid Debtor-Creditor-Supplier agreement".
Presumably because of this convoluted company setup. Seems like they're using some very suspect accounting practices to avoid something, including claims.

I've since bought another Flying Jacket, from a different company, far better quality all round.

I did check the reviews here before buying, which were predominately all positive, but my experience hasn't been great.

If you do have an issue, the company aren't helpful and you have no credit card protection either.

It looks like lots of people have had a positive experience with the company and their products, good for them. Why take the chance, it's a lot of money to lose.

Having read the one-star review by Mena, I find myself quite bemused. I received my Antique Leather RAF Flying Jacket and matching Helmet today (21/04/2023), and have to say I am bowled over by the quality of the workmanship and materials used. Gary and Jo could not have been more helpful if they tried. I had a worry, living 350 miles away from the company, that the sleeves of my jacket might prove a little too short. When paying nearly £800 for goods, one is naturally apprehensive as to the actual fit. One misses having a nearby changing room where you can try things on before purchase. Gary adjusted the sleeve measurement in accordance with my long arms measurement (I prayed I had it correct). I need not have worried. The jacket fits perfectly, and I am over the moon. It is so comfortable to wear, and it smells great too. I went to my local fish and chips restaurant for lunch and received admiring glances and a verbal compliment very first outing. The five-star reviews say everything about the products of the British Sheepskin Company. When I received my goods I emailed Gary and asked about future care of the leather. Jo responded very quickly in his stead with positive advice. Given my experience, I can only recommend this company and its products which, given that my jacket sports the Union Flag, makes me feel proud to be British.

For those looking for a truly well-made, quality garment, seek no further. Trust the five-star reviews. They are not wrong.

I recently ordered an RAF flying jacket from BSC and it is of outstanding quality. The jacket is masterfully crafted with all the attention to detail one would expect at this price point. You can just tell that the materials are of the highest quality. These jackets are built to last so long as you take reasonable care of it. Side note: They smell absolutely amazing.

Gary and Jo are very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft and will answer any questions you may have.

If you want a superb leather jacket, buy it from BSC. Not only will you be buying a jacket to last but you are also supporting a small British business.

My mum and I ordered a custom sheepskin jacket for my dad as birthday present. His birthday is in January, and we were rather last-minute so got in touch with the British Sheepskin Company in mid-December. Despite dealing with (no doubt) the Christmas rush, they were amazingly accommodating! They helped us to keep it a secret from my dad so it could be a surprise, took measurements that we sent via email, and produced an amazing final product in what seemed like no time at all.

The jacket looks and feels wonderful and the quality is second to none. It was absolutely worth the price!

Even better, my dad loves it. The jacket fits him perfectly and was made to the measurements we sent. It will be great for him to wear on his motorbike - he's looking forward to trying it out and wearing it when he does the North Coast 500! He says that the jacket will be ideal for this.

Before ordering, for a 44″ chest (XL), I spoke to Gary to check the back & sleeve length and confirm the sizes are perfect. The leather and fleece are both really soft giving a warm comfortable fit. The jacket is exceptionally well made from high quality materials and I would have no hesitation in recommending British Sheepskin.

My Cecile hat in slate colour has just come and I’m pleased as punch with it. So good to find a hat made sized to fit. It’s perfect!

OMG !!!!,, I am over the moon , my jacket arrived today.
The workmanship alone is on another level let alone the quality of the material.
I have searched high and low for a GOOD jacket but nothing compares to this.
Not as thick as I thought but you don’t need it, -10 without wind chill here and I had to remove my jumper so I didn’t get too warm.
If you’re umming and ahhing about getting one, don’t, buy it, you will never regret it.

Went to see Gary re buying a B3 that I wanted making a little off spec.
I wanted a shorter length, pockets lifting to where they usually sit on a parka and the heavyweight wool Asked for a quite fitted jacket also.
All I can say is that he absolutely nailed it, everything about it is 100% perfect.

Shipping to Guernsey, which can be a challenge, was no problem at all. Jacket arrived, and it blew me away. Superb look, it fitted perfectly, it was so very warm (on a cold day) and the materials used were clearly of the highest quality! Jo and Gary were great throughout the process. Delighted

Absolutely beautiful coat. I bought the Divine suede coat in Truffle and I’m so glad I did. The suede is so soft and the seam detail and detail on the end of the sleeves is fab. Might even go back to buy the shorter version in the Summer :)

What a great company to deal with, both Gary and Jo were expremely helpful, following a visit, Gary turned me a bespoke flying jacket round in a couple of weeks. I don't usually write reviews but the quality and simply how lovely the jacket is in the flesh really are remarkable. Not cheap but good stuff isn't. Smashing guys to do business with.

Wow! Gary and his team know exactly what they’re doing. I’ve been looking for a RAF type sheepskin for a couple of years and after plenty of research I decided to opt for these guys. Yea, sure, you pay a extra compared to some cheaper versions online but it’s worth every red cent. I ordered the new, not aged flying jacket. I emailed my height and chest size and got a perfect fitting jacket. Delivered by Fed ex which gives piece of mind. Now, warmth, I own some very warm jackets, a Canada Goose Heliartic (bought years before people even knew the company,) an industrial jacket for helicopter pilots in the polar regions and this matches it.

Made to measure bespoke sheepskin aviator flying jacket. An original WW11 cut and design. Excellent quality compared with others and twice the weight. Should last a lifetime!!

I bought the gunner flying jacket. Beautifully made and finished, and fits as I expected. The quality of the sheepskin is exceptional, the same goes for zips, straps etc. The service has been equally kind, helpful and reliable (thanks, Jo!). I would definitely recommend this company.

The workmanship of the B3 sheepskin jacket I ordered is outstanding. This is a beautiful piece, especially at this direct-to-customer price point. Customers should be wary of those complaining about shipping times. Items are made-to-order, so don't expect your beautiful jacket to ship next-day. Be patient, you'll be happy.
