I recently placed an order for a sheepskin coat from British Sheepskin Co. I took delivery of my new bespoke coat, yesterday. The coat is superbly crafted by a true artisan. The coat is impeccably constructed. Gary’s fastidious attention to detail is evinced from the leather chosen to the high level of finishing. Unbeknownst to me, my other sheepskin coat I bought 12 years ago through a third party was also made by Gary Marshman. That revelation only became known to me when mentioning the style of the coat upon my request to have the sleeve length shortened. As it turned out he was familiar with coat style and had still retained the original drawings. This is a testament to the durability and quality of Gary’s craftsmanship.
Buying a quality sheepskin coat is an investment for the future as many decades of experience goes into each handmade coat sold by British Sheepskin Co.,

I am paraplegic and therefore wheelchair-bound. 60 years ago I bought a flying jacket from the 'Army, Navy and Airforce store' but it was stolen years later. Now I'm in a wheelchair I thought it was time to get another. Best decision I have made this year! Fortunately, I live only an hour away from the manufacturer. I rang the British Sheepskin Co. and spoke with Gary, the proprietor and he invited me over the next day. I could not have been made more welcome. After some discussion about the problems of being in a wheelchair, Gary advised me on the best sheep hide and weight. He said to allow 2-3 weeks for the finished jacket. Exactly 5 working days later, I got a phone call from Gary to say it was finished! I was amazed and drove straight over.
The flying jacket is beautiful and so warm! The craftmanship and finish are superb! The attention to detail is sublime!
Someone stopped me in the street and asked where I got it! I told them!

While visiting London, I purchased the Sheepskin Flying Gunner Jacket. Jo was able to have Gary craft and have the jacket delivered to my hotel before I returned home. The quality and craftsmanship of the jacket is outstanding with an exceptional attention to detail. I will definitely be making more purchases in the future.

It’s always a leap of faith buying a big ticket item online. I put my trust in British Sheepskin and they exceeded my expectations. First was the level of customer service, phoning me to discuss my order, recommending a size etc. Then the fast turn around. Gary explained that he would receive the sheepskin and make my jacket within a fortnight. He actually managed it in ten days. Finally the craftsmanship and attention to detail which is outstanding. The moment I put on my RAF aged flying jacket I could feel the quality was second to none. Now Im waiting for a cold day as it feels incredibly warm! Thank you to Gary and team!

It was a pleasure to take a trip to see Gary and the workshop. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the products made are matched only by the superb quality of the materials and workmanship.
I bought a RAF flying jacket which was hand-made for me. It is a thing of beauty! The leather is substantial, but so soft and each component has been carefully and skillfully crafted and assembled. It looks fabulous and is so warm and comfortable to wear. I am delighted to own such a special item.

A really beautiflly crafted and solidly stitched flying jacket. It will keep me warm for many winters to come and possibly someone in the next generation as well! As others have also written the, leather is soft and supple and much lighter than I'd expected. I'd chosen the 'aged' look for the leather which may appear less distressed than in the online photos but takes the sheen off the leather. Gary explained this after I'd received the jacket and included a zipped inside pocket as an bonus extra.
Gary and Jo both made contact with me about delivery and I received the jacket easily with FedEx next day service. Thank you.

By far the best Bomber Jacket I have ever purchased. The Quality, Design and overall attention to detail is unbelievable ! Having been subjected to recent -35 weather it makes going outside something to look forward to. Usually have at least 2-3 compliments a day from people I don't know!

I have been wanting a sheepskin jacket for years. I took a long time deciding what I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the experience I had with British Sheepskins. I am so pleased with my jacket. It fits perfectly (phone discussion with Gary) and it is so warm and comfortable. It looks fabulous and feels even better.

I was very happy to receive my coat today. After opening my package, I found that the leather was far more supple and appealing than I had expected.
I also noted a much greater attention to detail than many of the other shearling coats that I had looked into; the leather tie holding the pockets down the soft and far more supple inner pocket leather, the hardware on the buckles and everything in general had exceeded my expectations. I’m also happy to say that the fit was perfect.

I went for a long walk today by the ocean and enjoyed the sights without feeling the ocean breezes chill. (This is December at the time of purchase.)

If I had to summarise, I would say that this was a coat made with superior craftsmanship and made of quality material.

This company are very prompt to reply to any ongoing questions I had.
I would highly recommend them, as the quality of service and the beautiful sheepskin products are absolutely gorgeous.

Having wanted a quality sheepskin flying jacket for several years, I thoroughly researched several manufacturers. I am so glad to have chosen The British Sheepskin Company.
Email and telephone conversations with Jo and Gary were attended to in a quick, friendly and professional manner. I sent my measurements and engaged in communication regarding my special requests - longer version, standard length sleeves plus the addition of internal pockets. I also ordered a Flying helmet made from the same `aged` sheepskin.
A little over three weeks from placing my order my custom jacket was delivered here in Germany. Just in time for a week of sub-zero temperatures. I can confirm that the coat is the “warmest coat you can wear” as it says on their website. The hat keeps head and ears toasty.
The coat I received is of the highest quality, both in terms of materials and attention to detail. The craftsmanship and dedication that is put into the end product is excellent.
The internal zippered pockets I requested are aesthetically crafted with the same amount of care and attention as the jacket itself.

Even accounting for the VAT and import duties into Germany, I still feel these products offer excellent value for money.
It is obvious to me that this is a company that takes tremendous pride in their product. It may not have a `designer` label, but an item bearing the British Sheepskin label inside surely indicates a buyer that knows a good thing when he sees it!

They are beautifully made and wonderfully warm!

I drive an open top sports car and wanted to be more comfortable in cool/cold weather. I decided that a flying jacket and helmet/hat would be the answer. I contacted and visited the workshop. I saw and was impressed by the quality of the products and materials, and obvious skill and knowledge of the team.
I was measured, I am not a standard size at all with large chest and very long back. All matters were agreed and recorded. The completion was offered to be in about two weeks and it was. The flying jacket fits as does the hat and they easily meet my expectations. A great product. I am very pleased I chose these guys.

The communication with British Sheepskin was faultless. I gave some measurements and they computed the size jacket I needed. I opened the box tried it in and the fit was perfect.

It is so warm I am waiting for a drop in temperature so I can wear it!!!!

Feels like made to measure, expensive but not compared to some and you get what you pay for. If you want a jacket that will last for years go for it. If you want something for one year it is expensive

I must admit I was a bit nervous about ordering a product of high value from the internet, but that is the nature of the beast now. I had looked at Irvin flying jackets and the cheaper Amazon ones and decided on something in the middle from The British Sheepskin Company. I had one in my younger days and wore it to death, so this was a bit of retro buying for me. The blow was also softened by buying my Mum a new sheepskin rug in ivory. I would say 7 to 10 days for a hand made jacket is perhaps a bit optimistic, but a phone call and email resolved my worries and it was in the post the next day. The quality and attention to detail of the jacket is excellent and well worth the wait and money. The sheepskin rug is lovely, so soft and fluffy and again worth the money. Bring on the winter!

Always wanted a flying jacket and decided to do it properly and have it made to my spec, amazing experience and very accommodating! Even made me up a dog bed, jacket is amazing quality and is the absolute real deal. Nothing else comes close, cheers Gary🥳

Amazing experience with British Sheepskin Company & Gary today. My fiancee & me were over the UK for a couple days & wanted to size up RAF flying jacket but forgot to check if they open on Sunday. They were amazing & Jo replied out of hours to say they would be there & we gave them time.
Gary greeted us at the workshop & talked through the process of making the jackets, the history & the materials. You could tell his passion about his craft. Tried on jackets to get the right size, ordered with some tailored details to ensure best fit. Got fiancee beautiful hat while we were there.
Afterwards crossed paths at the local pub & got talking some more. Can't recommend the company more, the quality of the product, the service are second to none. Can't wait to get the jacket once it's finished.

If you think this Waistcoat looks good on the website, it looks stunning in reality. Having tried on both this and the Irvin equivalent, the quality and craftmanship are equally superb, but the extra length of this waistcoat, great design, excellent value for money and last but not least Gary and the team who are so helpfull, made my decision easy.
