Very happy with bike and service

The staff at Buy A Bike (special thanks must go to Lewis) were incredibly friendly and took the time to understand what I needed instead of rushing me or pushing expensive options. I asked a lot of questions and they made sure I was comfortable with my choice.
When I came back for my free 6 week safety check, they clearly explained the work, finished on time and walked me through the adjustments before I left. It’s rare to feel this valued as a customer — highly recommend for anyone who appreciates excellent service!

I’ve been a customer of BuyaBike for many years and have previously purchased multiple bikes and accessories from them, so this review is disappointing to write.

I recently took my bike in to have a seized rear brake caliper replaced. When I dropped it off, I was told that £20 would be deducted from the final bill if I chose to go ahead with the repair. At no point was it explained that this £20 was a non-refundable inspection/quotation fee if I decided not to proceed.

I did not request a full diagnostic - I asked for a specific repair. The mechanic said he would provide a list of options, which sounded helpful, but it wasn’t made clear that this assessment would incur a charge regardless.

I was quoted £40 for labour to fix the brake, which I thought was excessive, so I decided to just repair it myself. When I queried the charge, I was told this was standard policy and that it is stated on their website. However, I relied on what I was told in person at drop-off. Clear and upfront explanation of charges at the point of agreement would have avoided this issue.

I completely understand that businesses need to charge for their time. My concern is simply that the fee was not made explicit before the work was undertaken. The response to my complaint felt defensive rather than constructive.

Unfortunately, this experience has changed my view of what was previously a trusted local shop.

After a total of 3 visits into the store, and a couple of phone calls - i finally took the plunge and bought a new full-suspension CUBE e-bike. Each time i visited, the staff were great. Very informative, relaxed, not pushy, full of advice about the bikes and biking in general. Even Ian the owner spared some time to talk us through the different models. In the end the price was the best i could find and the service far more thorough and friendly than anywhere else I'd looked. The free 6week check they offer as well (after 6wk ownership) seems like a nice touch. Bought with complete confidence, the people i dealt with made the difference. Thoroughly recommend! Final thanks to Lewis for the VERY detailed handover, again loads of advice offered with a bit of a laugh and joke too. Good old fashioned, traditional customer service. Also worth pointing out they had a huge range on show, and offered the facility to test-ride the bikes on site.

I would just like to say i ordered a
Cube Touring Hybrid One 625 Electric Bike, on the 29th January
and was delivered the next day. It taken me 20 minutes to assemble. I would definitely recommend this company, excellent service and rapid delivery, would shop again👍

Last Saturday I went to view one of their Cube EMTB’s, was left to take a look myself with no sales pressure and after 5-10 mins sales advisor Lewis came over and filled my brain with a mountain of his knowledge about the particular bike I was looking at. Again without pressure he suggested I could leave a small deposit to hold the bike, but I decided to confirm I wanted it there and then and today I picked it up.
So today I picked the bike up, was greeted by Lewis and instead of him just taking my money and sending me on my way, he spent half on hour with me explaining how the bike worked followed by setting up the ride height and suspension so that the bike is literally ready to use!
I couldn’t be happier with the whole buying experience, so anyone looking to buy a bike I would highly recommend these guys, Lewis was spot on, but I could also see and hear what was going on around me and the whole team were very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for any of them.
Absolute 10/10 for these guys.

When the time comes to buy again, buy a bike will be my first port of call!

This is the third bike I have bought over the last two years. I have been lucky and managed to get all three bikes in an epic deal. I hadn’t heard of them when I purchased my first bike from them but reviews seemed good and very glad I went with them. All bikes have been exceptionally well built. They have been sent by FedEx straight away from order but you could change days if needed. FedEx deliver next day. I look no further than purchasing from these guys. Many thanks to all the team 👍🏻😁

Great bike for a great price. Also called them to get a delivery estimate and was told the bike was being dispatched that day. Sure enough it was at my house less than 24 hours later. Spot on!
