    5 Star Service

After visiting Camerabox's website, I rang them as I was a little undecided about the camera. I was given honest, unbiased advice and placed the order with them. I was giving a tracking number and the camera arrived bang on time. It is refreshing to deal with an online company that with great prices but one that also has a human side.. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all. Pleasant experience

    Never Again!

After deciding to upgrade my Digital SLR and include some accessories I chose to order a battery grip and extra battery from Camerabox. After over 7 days I still haven't received a thing. Phone calls are never answered and e-mails ignored. Whenever a call is answered the staff just come across as rude and posses no knowledge of the order. I would advise you to stay with more reliable suppliers.

The Worst E-tailer I Have Ever Come Across

This company are really terrible. First of all there was an error when I made the order online and I had no confirmation of the order sent to me. So I mailed their site and they told me that the transaction had failed. Two days later, £264.99 is taken from my credit card by Camerabox. So I phone them up and they say the camera will be delivered on Monday. Monday comes, no camera. I phone again and they say it will be Tuesday. Tuesday comes and no camera. I phone up again and am told it will be in a few days. I still have had no official emailed confirmation of the order or any real guarantees of delivery. I am also told customer services is only online to mail them to complain. My mail is neither acknowledged or replied to. So I call again and I'm told it will be Tuesday of the following week for delivery. I mail them again to try and get a response over the first email and still no reply or acknowledgement. So I call them up and ask to cancel. A salesman tells me he can't do it and I have to contact customer services. I explain that my previous correspondence to the customer services has been completely ignored. He promises that he will get an emailed confirmation of cancellation over to me the same day. I am still waiting. THIS PEOPLE ARE TOTAL RIP OFF MERCHANTS AND TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS REALLY BADLY. I DOUBT ANY SINGLE PERSON WORKING THEIR WOULD LIKE IT IF THEY'D SPENT £264.99 WITH AN ETAILER WHO HAD TAKEN THEIR MONEY, NOT EVEN MAILED CONFIRMATION OF ORDER AND CONSISTENTLY LIES TO THEM OVER DELIVERY. BY FAR THE WORST ONLINE RETAIL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. TRULY, TRULY, TRULY, TRULY AWFUL. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

    Good price, slow delivery

Placed my order with Camerabox on Monday 31st Jan 2010 at 14.32 for the Nikon D90. It arrived with me Tuesday 8th Feb 2010 09.55. I had opted for the 2-4 day delivery, it took 6 days. The price was the cheapest i could find by £67.98 at the time from a UK retailer. Overall happy with the service they had provided, just a shame about the delay in delivery.

    *****

Opted for the express delivery for £6.99, on the Fuji Finepix JZ300. I found it extremely easy to order on their site, and after placing the order i phone customer services to check on the order and spoke to a very helpful member of staff, who advised everything was ok on the order and would be shipping it out later that day. True to their word, i received my email confirming the camera had been shipped, then one from City-Link with my tracking number. I used their site all the way up to point of delivery the next morning. The camera had arrived as promised the next day. The price was definitely the cheapest i could find anywhere and their customer service was excellent. I would recommend Camerabox to anyone looking for a cheap camera on good delivery and great customer service.

Unbelievably poor customer service - sorry for the length!

Original order place on 27/11/10, opting for the ironically termed super saver delivery, where your package should arrive within 2-4 working days. The next day I received a call saying that a delivery slot had become free the next day if I wished to pay £6.99 for the delivery. I thought this curious; if I had wanted next day delivery at a cost I would have asked for it initially, although at least it indicated that the product was in stock and ready for despatch. With hindsight I have to wonder if there was an awareness of the problems with the courier company, and that camerabox were trying to persuade as many customers as possible to use the next day service.

On the 29/11/10 I emailed the sales address requesting a change in delivery address, but received no response. I phoned the following week enquiring as to where my delivery was, and was told it was ready to be sent out. At the same time I asked if I could change the delivery address, but was told it would be too late.

The next time I was required to phone up was on 13/12/10, as I still awaited my delivery. During this period there has been no communication from camerabox to explain or apologise for the absent delivery. If there are delays the least you can do is keep your customer informed, particularly if you have already advised that the order was to be despatched. This time the operator advised me that the item would be with me the next day, and there had been delays with the courier company picking it up.

On the 16/12/10 I phoned again; still no sign of my delivery. Again, I was told exactly the same thing. At this point I asked for the order to be cancelled as I had lost trust in the company.

Much to my exasperation, on the 17/12/10 I received an email saying the order had been sent out to me. I called back immediately and was advised that there was no record of me asking to cancel the order. I was advised to not sign for the order and ask for it to be returned, this I did so.

On the 29/12/10 I received an email confirming my order had been received back at camerabox, which I assumed was enough to trigger the refund of my money. Just in case, I replied to the email stating that I required the refund ASAP. I received an out of office message bounce back due to it being the Christmas period, but at least this indicated that my message had been received by someone.

I rang on the 6/1/10 to enquire as to when I would receive my refund, having a deep mistrust in the company at this point, I thought it best to make as much communication as possible. I was advised that I would receive the refund in 2-14 days from the receipt of the goods back at camerabox.

On the 18/1/10, knowing the words to Frank Sinatra's 'My Way' off by heart, and becoming more familiar than I ever wished with the 'please hold your call is important to us' recorded message, I finally got to speak to an operator. Unbelievely, I was advised that there was no record of me making contact with camerbox and advising them of the cancellation, so the item had been returned to the store. Does no one make any notes when a customer calls up? Perhaps this is why operators are able to tell you that your delivery will be made the next day, when clearly it won't be, because there is no accountability due to no updating of records. What kind of customer service is this? The operator told me I would receive the refund in ten working days.

Later that day I emailed all three camerabox email addresses: sales@camerabox.co.uk; orders@camerabox.co.uk; returns@camerabox.co.uk confirming the call I had just made, attaching previous email correspondence I had sent. I received a response the next day advising that my refund would be issued within 14 days...and eventually it was.

Will never use this company again.

Great service for a cheap retailer!

I think what others dont realise is that for the price they are absolutely brillant! I have been using these guys for years, admittedly on occasion there has been delays with deliverys, but good things come to those who wait. For example I placed an order on the 31st of Jan, just came through this morning. But I am more than happy considering the price. I would've paid over £200 more for this lens, if I'd bought it from a well known high street photographic retailer. Perhaps if you're in a rush, look to buy "over the counter" but for me that is rarely the case. Keep up the good work Cameraboxx

    Fair price for fair service

Okay.. i had already bought my camera from camerabox before i'd read the reviews..after i was a bit apprehensive wating for it to arrive..but after 10 days it did..it came with an American plug fitting but they had put in an adaptor so no problem..i saved £30 on the deal. Assuming i don't have to use the warranty i think it was a relatively painless experience. I understand peoples grievances when things haven't gone to plan but for me they were fine..use a credit card and at least you're covered.

Should not be allowed to trade!

I ordered a camera so I could film and take stills of my Dads 70th Birthday. They took the money straight away, and promised delivery next day, the camera didn't show. So I chased them up and was told it would a few more days, when I told them this wasn't sufficient, I cancelled my order and was told my refund could take up to 30 days, this was on the 02/11/2010. I chased camerabox for weeks, eventually I contacted Oxfordshire Trading Standards to see if they could help, they contacted camerabox a couple of times to see where my refund was. Eventually, I received my refund on 17/01/2011, a lot longer than 30 days. Something should be done about them. I have kept all email correspondance with them as proof.

Make it as hard as possible to give money back when they can't supply good that have been paid for.

Camer Box or Digital Cameras, they are the same organization. After a week I chased up my order. They failed to return my calls or reply to my emnails so I spent ages on hold until a real human being ansered the phone. In essence they said they had no stock and wern't going to get any. They saw no obligation to either return my money or tell me of this. If I had not called to chase they would just have held on to my money saying that orders have to be cancelled in writing. They saw no obligation to conatct me about their inability to deliver. Now going though PayPal to get my money back.

More or less as on the tin

I ordered a pro lens just before Xmas 2010 and, although the delivery was delayed because (I suspect) of the seasonal and weather chaos, the lens arrived safely and is 100% as I expected it to be.
    Score 1 to Camerabox.

    VERY POOR SRVICE

I am sad that the service i have received from this company is rubbish. I did get my camera but it didn't come next day as i paid for ( still waiting for that to be refunded after three telephone calls and two e mails) the charger was for the wrong battery ( now have to pay the postage to send it back myself, apparently that will be refnded ( dont beileve a word of it) and still no reply to the email i was told to send) and it didnt come with an instruction manual. I now have to put it all in writing and send to off to them. This should all be able to be done over the phone it is very very dull and as i was told on the phone....madame if we didnt return items to you we would go out of business very soon....... perhaps you should then and save us all the trouble

    Let down by others

After being let down by other companies on delivery of my camera, i eventually tried camerabox. I decided to phone them first after seeing a few bad reviews, but they filled me with confidence on the phone. I placed my order that morning with them, for their free delivery service, only for my camera to be delivered the next day! was very happy with the service and will be ordering again when the time comes

Not worth the stress of dealing with them

I ordered my camera on the 30th of December. It was listed as in stock and available for a 4-5 working day delivery. Its the 24th of January and I have still to receive it. I must have telephoned customer services about 8 times chasing the whereabouts of my camera. After being fobbed off with "the warehouse has a backlog" and "its being despatched tomorrow you'll be sent an e mail" etc ect it finally transpires that its been sent to a completely incorrect address and signed for by some unknown person. Instead of an immediate apology and the despatch of a new item these guys were rude and dismissive. Their standards of communication and customer service stink. the 30 quid youll save by going through them will pale into insignificance alongside the raised blood pressure, loss of time and opportunity that you will suffer. My next port of call appears to be trading standards and the small claims court

    Got my order... eventually

My camera took 15 working days to be delivered, even though the website listed it as 'in stock' when I placed the order. What's worse, they took my money as soon as they received my order, rather than waiting until they had dispatched it.

On the plus side, I could always get through to customer services (after 5-10 minutes wait on the phone), although they all they ever said was "It will be sent to you soon". When my order did arrive, it was exactly as ordered.

    Sorry to hear this.
Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances we can work at a slight delay, usually due to a back log of orders. However we always endeavor to ship out an item as quickly as possible. The funds are automatically sent across when you confirm to the terms and conditions when placing the order, this is set out in the T&C's on the site.
We are happy the item is as expected, and if you have and questions or queries regarding any further matters, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    poor customer service

I could tell my tale at length but it is the same as all on here - camera ordered, money debitted from my account instantly, 3 weeks wait, cancel order only for them to despatch regardless, refuse delivery, wait another 3 weeks for refund.

I did get responses to emails and spoke to people unlike some on here but I was never given accurate information and yes on most occasions lied to.

It never occurred to me to google them as their website is very enticing and professional looking.

They had £500 of my money for 2 months.
