Joke of a company

I purchased from this company last year and was quite happy with a camera body I received. I recently purchased a Canon 100-400mm lens listed as in good condition, now you can expect marks and a bit of paint loss from being used, but there was hair and dust inside the lens and also the rail at the end of the lens where the hood screws into is so worn the hood doesn't stay on and rattles about. I would say this lens is well worn and is graded in the wrong category. I did get in contact with camera jungle the day I received it telling them all of this and also included a photo of the hair and dust. I told them how disappointed I am about it, it was not in good condition. They got back to me the next day with no apology or anything, just told me to send it back and they will look into it. But, looking at the reviews about people not getting their refund and me having to lose a days pay to wait at home for a courier, I decided that I will have to keep the lens unfortunately and I will have to try and get it serviced/fixed.
I will never buy from this bad dishonest company again and will warn others too. They say that used items are professionally cleaned and checked before being sent out (what a complete lie)
They even re-advertised my lens on their website today when they thought they were receiving it back then removed it again once I told them I'm keeping it.
I have recorded a unboxing video of this lens for my YouTube channel and will upload it soon so stay tuned!

Requested number of shutter actuations…

Requested number of shutter actuations got an answer very quickly. Bought the camera on Friday expecting delivery on Monday or Tuesday, it was delivered Saturday lunchtime WOW. The camera was in excellent order, not a blemish anywhere.
Delivery time was excellent considering items to Belfast are as a rule slower. Its a very positive recommendation.
Thank you from Frank on Belfast.

Why I would avoid Camera Jungle

Sent lens to Camera Jungle - eventually... Took three days of missed collections by their chosen carrier DHL.

Upon receipt they claim my lens was not in the condition stated, which I know is not the case.

When I asked them to quantify this, I received an email with nebulous statements about marks to paint (incidentally the lens is finished in anodised aluminium). So I have requested they return the lens.

It is puzzling that a photography business did not provide photographic evidence of their claim.

It would have been nice to discuss on the phone, however Camera Jungle has a phone line which I have never been successful in completing a call to - I have lost count how many times I have tried to call them.

I should have known better - as this is clearly a pseudo-business; equipment is shipped to a drop-shipping organisation called "Data Select." (Based in Slough - not in Marlow as the website claims is the location of Camera Jungle).

I have sold equipment through MPD in the past and have never had any of the rating of my equipment queried. I am dreading to see the state of my property when I receive it.

Never again - at least with Wex, MBP et al, you can visit a physical premises or get someone on the phone.

Disgusted with the whole experience to be honest.

I photographed the lens before sending it off. It has been returned today - without the Sigma paperwork that was sent with the lens and with a mark that was not there when the lens was sent.

Don't expect next day delivery, even though they state it on the site!

I ordered a lens on 30th Dec at 11.04am, meaning the lens should be delivered the following day. On 31st Dec I have a text from DHL who said the lens would be delivered on 2nd Jan. Thats 3 days later, fair enough I wouldn't expext anyone to work on New years day, but what about the 24 hour delivery that Camer jungle state on their site. So I emailed their Customer service team, who replied stating that they had been in touch with DHL, and no it would be delivered on Thursday! Not even an apology!
So I have a New years party to photograpgh, and thanks to Camera Jungle, no fast lens!
Do yourself a favour, stay away and use someone else instead. I should have stuck with MPB!

Camera arrived broken

Camera arrived broken, returned to camera jungle for repair. They had my camera for nearly 3 months, customer service has been atrocious - no real apology or updates. I am constantly chasing them. Not even an acknowledgement that 3 months is not an acceptable period of time.

Nightmare delivery system

Waiting on the nightmare delivery of my camera and lense. Camera jungle delivery that costs £4.99, you can't pick what time or the weekend for delivery. For someone that works every weekday early morning to late evening, it makes it impossible to be there for it.

There is no option to pick a neighbor to leave it with. No option to pick a time. Only other options I have through the delivery company, DHL, is to pick another delivery day(weekday only) or (through calling up DHL) have them leave it at the depot for collection. I don't drive. The depot is so far I would have to make a series of public transport changes to get there and back home.

I feel camera jungle have been really cheap on the delivery service. DHL do offer the option for parcels to drop off at service points that are within walking distance of me. BUT, Camera Jungle do not pay for that level of service.

For making such a large purchase of over £1000 you would think a flexible delivery company and options would be on offer.

Mint condition as described

The current promotional discount made a lens I wanted around the price I wanted to pay - so placed the order late in the evening, and was confirmed as dispatched the next day, and delivered the day following. The lens was just as described - although without box - the jessops/camera jungle packaging wasn't as good as I'd hoped - but overall a positive experience.

I am sorry but I cannot believe the…

I am sorry but I cannot believe the poor ratings for this company. most of my equipment has been bought from Jessops, and have been loyal to them since 2009. The service is second to none, they do not try to over sell and even questioned at times why I wish to change from current gear when I am getting what I want anyway. I have had more than fair trade in quotes to the point I could not get the same deal on a private sale. I have then also bought from camera jungle, and cannot believe the quality of service, ( last order was a day early) the items I have received have been in basically unused condition, the last order was a saving of £450 against new price, previous order was a saving of over £1000 for what looked like unused lenses. I cannot rate this company high enough if there was ten stars I would rate ten, if one hundred I would one hundred!
Keep it up camera jungle and Jessops, you get my business every time!!!

Worst transaction ever.

I am sorry to say that this was the worst transaction ever.
First of all, I have tried to phone you on many occasions. When I say many, 33 was the last count and I got one response from Mrs Armana.
On the 30th October I ordered a Sigma 18- 250 lense with the next day delivery.
Well it was not the next day delivery.
First I received a text informing me that I will receive my purchase on Monday 4th Nov.
On the morning of the 1st November I receive a text informing me that I will receive my purchase between 13.29 and 14.29. Great, I am at work. I took time off work arriving at home at 13.05 to find my purchase already delivered, I was unable to sign for it and found it in the bin cupboard which is not a safe place.
It gets worse.
In the parcel there was a Canon 18-90 lense. Not what I ordered.
I rang your customer support number it seems forever. No reply!
I rang Jessops in Brighton. They apologised for this and made afew suggestions.
I went to Jessops in Brighton on Sunday 3rd November Ben served me. I gave him the Canon 18-90mm lense which he said he would send back to Camera Jungle. He gave me a receipt. I asked that the 18-250mm lense which I ordered be sent to their shop because DHL cannot be trusted!
All in all, Camera Jungle should get their act together . One answer the phone, reply to emails and send out the correct products.
I will be forwarding this to Jessops Head office.

I have sold my old Canon camera set…

I have recently sold my old Canon camera set without any problems whatsoever. Due relocating the premises (no address for delivery) Camera Jungle offered to organise the items collection free of charge from my address. After this they offered via email prompt updates about my package. The emails replies always fast and very professional.

Nothing to complain about!

Beware of condition ratings - Significantly over rated a used camera

After my recent “experience” with buying a used camera from Camera Jungle I thought I would share my experience as a warning to others out there that might be contemplating buying any used camera equipment from Camera Jungle. The bottom line “DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!” and here’s the reason why……..

I bought a used Sony RX1R camera which was rated as “excellent”, which in Camera Jungle’s own words is “show signs of little use”. Well…….. The camera I received showed signs of extensive use and the tell tales signs included:

• Significantly marked and chipped on/off button
• Significantly marked and chipped exposure compensation dial
• Significantly marked and chipped mode dial
• Visible scratch near the view finder
• Significantly marked and chipped at the bottom of screen
• Camera body discoloured and faded in places

At the best I would say the condition of the camera I purchased as “good”.

I should point out that I bought the RX1R on a “20% off weekend” so whilst I thought I was getting a great deal, I mean an “excellent” camera at a great price what I actually got was a good condition camera at the price it should have been in the first place. Hmmmmmm……………

I usually buy my used camera equipment from WEX however the deal from Camera Jungle jumped out at me – I had wanted an RX1R for ages. I did notice that WEX had a used RX1R at £400 or so more than what I paid, rated at a condition 9. In hindsight I wish I had stumped up the extra and purchased from WEX, as I know (from previous experiences, and lots of them) the condition would have been as stated.

This experience has taught me a valuable lesson and that is stick with what I know, i.e. WEX, and never buy from Camera Jungle again.

Complete shambles

Ordered a camera body online as price seemed competitive with 20% discount and twelve months interest free credit through VS Klarna bank. Completed loan paperwork online, received order confirmation from Camera Jungle, after that absolutely nothing. Camera Jungle say they haven't received confirmation of loan from VS Klarna, they can't trace my application even though they've taken the 10% deposit from my credit card. Camera Jungle suggest cancelling order and then reordering which means starting whole process again, I don't think so, have cancelled order which is a shame as it was a good price but there are plenty of deals around at the moment. Lets hope I get my credit card refund soon. Won't be using Camera Jungle again any time soon

Very poor experience and won't buy again.

Very poor experience and won't buy again from them.
Bought a Tamron lens from them which had a fault so eventually after a few days trying got through to customer services to arrange a return, lens was to be collected by DHL who of course didn't turn up on the day I was told, got a rearranged date for collection which did happen and lens was taken away.

Nothing from CJ for two weeks after that and when I eventually got an answer on the phone to find out where my lens was, they first said they'd never received it back and then when I provided tracking proof finally admitted they'd lost it. I gave them a few days to look for it and called several times again for an update - no answer. Emailed 'customer services' and 'Hello @ CJ' and got no reply. Called again and after several attempts got through.

Finally I was offered an alternative lens which we agreed on and guess what.....nothing arrived at my door, I called and chased and they'd lost that one too!!

Ended up getting a refund 2 1/2 months after original purchase and even then they queried the amount.

I'd recommend buying from elsewhere tbh which is a shame, especially after the recent Jessops news which CJ is part of.

A Phoenix company disappearing into the Ashes

T traded with them despite my misgivings. Now I find they are not answering emails, and hanging up on the phone..
I paid cash for an item. they sent me a tracking number that does not work. They say - I seem blocked since then - they are investigating. I feel like I have been mugged. Should I get the police involved?.

I hope they are not involved
with Jessops' bad news today?

Avoid at all costs shocking communication

Needed to purchase a body canon 7d called to ask for next day delivery.
Was informed if I purchased it call back with order number and they assured next day delivery followed instructions and proceeded with sale
Got an email saying i would receive it 3 days later
Called courier and camera jungle courier said they had it but instructed by seller to send standard delivery 3 days later travelled over 60 miles to collect
When I complained they blamed the courier
Which they had shown me the written instructions by camera jungle
At no time did they apologise or offer any form of compensation
