Ordering was relatively easy and paper came within a few days of ordering. Unfortunately, whilst not Closs and Hamblin's fault the paper we purchased, (Villa Nova Arriccio paper), was not particularly good quality, despite it being marketed as such. Our decorator found it very difficult to work with, despite using the recommended adhesive and following the installation instructions
The customer service agent was really pleasant and helpful when I rang to enquire if my order had shipped as apparently there was a failed delivery attempt (there wasn't, they just didn't knock or ring!)
The courier is awful (Fed Ex) but the customer service at Closs and Hamblin was lovely - shout out to Malcolm for all of his help and his follow up email.
A bit of a curate's egg however after a long delay we received our curtains which are of excellent quality. There was a supplier problem so not really the fault of C and H.
On a previous occasion the service was exemplary so just one of those things.
If you want quality this is the place to go

Closs & Hamblin in Brighton are always great at making/installing blinds and curtains, and my recent experience was no exception. Although the job was complicated (heavy curtains on a crumbling wall in an old house!), the fitters, Anthony and Phil, found ingenious solutions to every problem and, with patience and incredible skill, created a perfect result. If only all tradespeople took the same pride in their work as these excellent guys!

Went to the Canterbury store today. Totally ignored by staff as to what we were there for. No interest in us. Very disappointing. We will go elsewhere for our upholstery needs.

I bought some Laura Ashley curtains online last week after telephoning with queries. The gentleman was very helpful as I was calling from Guernsey where we do not pay VAT. They arrived earlier than expected, well packaged and the VAT was refunded to my account a day before the curtains arrived! Would DEFINITELY use this company in the future.

Ordered 2 nets came after 3 weeks not 2.shabby service wrong address got 1 set not 2 .gentleman that served me was okay blonde lady when I said I wanted a refund who had nothing to do with my query was shaking her head. Rubbish service

A great experience with Closs & Hamblin. Sam is very lovely, friendly and wonderfully knowledgeable, with great advice about the right curtains for our space. We were trust with loads of samples to check out in our own time. The ordering was very easy. Chris, who fitted our pole perfectly, also very friendly. And the curtains are perfect, exactly what I imagined. Very happy and would highly recommend!

These guys have made curtains and blinds for us on a couple of occasions and we've been delighted. Great service. Efficient and punctual for both measuring and fitting. A good range of materials on offer. Decent enough prices. Recommended.

I ordered three 5 litre tins of Laura Ashley paint but on arrival one of them was open and had leaked. I contacted customer services to highlight the issue and they i.e. Jacquie very promptly replied to apologise for the problem. She gave me a choice regarding resolving the issue of either a replacement or refund of the faulty item with absolutely no quibbling. The customer service I have received from Closs & Hamblin was excellent and if I could have given 10 stars I would have. Would definitely recommend this company and will be using again for any more future decorating projects.

Appalling customer service.
Complete lack of attention to detail.
I paid over £2,000 for a set of curtains and as a result of the total mismanagement of C&H not measuring the length of the curtains and ordering a curtain pole that would not bear their weight my new curtains were hung on my old corroded curtain pole three days before Christmas.
The company took no responsibilty for their mismanagement and showed no empathy or sympathy for the anxiety of my husband (who is disabled and suffers from Lewy Body Dementia). Instead, the CEO stated that their company "was not responsible for ill health".
Under no circumstances would I recommend this company.
We haven't yet hung the curtains, but the ordering and delivery process were first class, especially as ordered in the build up to Christmas.
