Capitol One Quicksilver Rewards Mastercard. Clicked the See if I'm Pre-Approved tab. I was, so went right into the application tab and got the Quicksilver Rewards Card. Earn a $200 cash reward in the 1st 3 months if spend is $500. Spent nearly $700 in the 1st 2 months. Was denied the $200 because,
(This one-time bonus is available by clicking the "Apply Now" button on this page, and may not be available if you navigate away from or close this page.) I deviated to check if I was pre-approved, the tab just above the apply now tab, and went right to the application tab. Looks like a despicable and deceptive practice. Closed my account.

Impossible to do the smallest things in my account. Simply want to delete an old business email and it absolutely offers no possibility. eno - the useless assistant that is constantly in your face - can actually do nothing. only thing to do is call and wait on hold. really, really awful self service options. plenty of other complaints but I still use the card for the rewards benefit. only upside.

Bottom of the Barrel Banking

Capital One used to be my favorite banking institution. Lately everything about them has gone downhill. The savings rate is low as ever. Don’t choose it! I have been denied credit limit increases but they are quick to approve me for new cards. Just increase my limit already on ONE CARD! I’ll admit my credit is challenged, but if you’re going to give me the credit anyhow, then do it on a card I already have. Needless to say, I will be paying off a card and cutting up that one plus another one that they charge an annual fee & the credit limit is that set for a college student.

They don’t show any grace or concern for loyal customers. This institution used to be one that you can trust. They have now become so BIG that customer service is deplorable. APR is high and as someone else stated, they are becoming more predatory by the minute. Very upset and disappointed the way I have been treated. I hate that I signed my daughter up with them and considering not referring my husband. It’s time for a change.

I've had an account with Capital one…

I've had an account with Capital one for over 10 years, now I'm going to close this account, and I was suggest everyone else do the same because it's only getting worse. Ever since they changed to the Discover network my card is getting declined all the time. I was stuck on vacation at St. John, we paid for the hotel online, but when we get there they needed a card for incidentals, welp the Discover system was down, I was extremely embarrassed, wasted 4 hours stressing with my wife and kids then had to frantically search for a hotel that would accept Discover before we took the ferry back over to st. This ruined our whole day since we decided to stay an extra day. It was completely pointless after we ran into this issue.

They were not of much help and could take 10 business days, NOW, because they're having issues with the link/ confirmation process on THEIR end.
Others had told me horrible stories about Capital One, I still chose it. I'm learning my lesson. This is SMALL compared to the other stories I've read and seen. Be mindful of ALL REVIEWS!!

CapitalOne is the worst bank in the U.S. the least personal and the most money hungry. They just issued me a debit card (Discovery) that doesn’t work at other banks. I asked at the bank - the teller told me to change banks. If their own employees are giving this advice, then we should listen. After 20yrs, I’m changing my bank and major credit card.

Capital One Sparks Business Card - BEWARE.

I recently applied for the C1 Sparks Business card. Let me preface this by saying I have excellent credit, my business revenue is roughly $1mm and I have never been declined for credit. Ever.

The entire application process was a nightmare. The "Application Center" would not accept my info, even though it was basic stuff like my DOB and address. Had to engage with customer service THREE TIMES just to get this resolved (which, it never was). Ended up having to MAIL my application to them after customer service was ultimately zero help. The only reason I even applied was because they had been love bombing me with "Pre Approved, no credit ding" emails and mailings for weeks.

After endless frustration and ridiculousness, they declined my application. No reason given. I would not recommend them. Ever.

Poor service

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Capital One. I opened a checking account expecting basic functionality, but my Zelle transactions were flagged for no clear reason. When I tried to resolve it, I was given vague explanations about the memo I used—even though it simply reflected legitimate fees.

Instead of fixing the issue, they pushed me to open a business account, which felt unnecessary and inconvenient. Customer service didn’t provide clear guidance, and the restrictions on my account made it difficult to use my own money the way I need to. Overall, a disappointing experience. I expected much better from a major bank.

I had a simple dispute regarding a 30 day money back guarantee from an online merchant. I opened the dispute and documented my attempt to cancel the online VPN service that NordVPN would not agree to. The advertise and claim a 30 day money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied. The VPN totally disrupted my internet access so I had to remove it from my computer.
Capital one insists on accepting .jpg files for any info sent to them regarding the dispute. I didn't take pictures of my online chat so they wouldn't accept my claim, even though they had copies of the chat the Nord sent them. I have been a customer for 24 years but I won't be using there card any longer and they don't even care.

The worst

The car dealership went with them for my husband’s car loan. So far they have made me jump through four different hoops after purchasing and driving this car off the lot. Every week I receive a call to verify I placed the money down on his behalf, call this number switch the payment method for the down payment etc. They are the worst.

WRONGFUL REPO

Hi, my name is Abigail Quintero. On Dec.15, my car was wrongfully repossessed by your bank. Long story short; I called AT LEAST 4-5 times to get things straightened out, talking to different people and each time, sending copies of my PAID car, Dr license, registration (Michigan AND Texas, because the car was bought in Michigan) NOTHING WAS DONE. I started calling again and again talking to different people, sending more copies of ALL papers. Through all if this I started having anxiety attacks because I had NEVER gone through something like this before. NO ONE that I talked to was the least bit interested in helping me get car back. It was now getting closer to Christmas and they kept “passing” me over to someone else… fine and dandy for THEM; they could get in their car, go home and go Christmas shopping. I COULDN’T. On Dec 22, I talked to a Carlene( don’t know if I got the name right; she said that she was the president’s secretary. SHE also blew me off. I was close to having a nervous breakdown. Like I said, I had NEVER been accused of not paying for my car. On Jan 2, 2026, got a txt; it was the place that picked up my car… he said that he was on his way to return my car. Again I’ll say, ON JANUARY 2,2026. That means that I had to go through the holidays WITHOUT my car, stuck in my house; while YOUR STAFF went home, went shopping and went to visit their families. On Jan 2 or 3, I had a voicemail message saying that it was that Carlene (the president’s secretary). I don’t recall the msg saying to call her back; but, I DID call her back. She didn’t answer so, I left a msg. SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I’m guessing she must’ve told her boss that she called me(which she did) but, she didn’t talk to me. I was told by many people that I should take the bank to court for “Wrongful Repo”. I considered it, but at that point, I was glad to have my car back. What I DO want is for you to find who the people are that would not help me and find out WHY THEY WOULDN’T HELP ME GET MY CAR BACK. These people need to be reprimanded. I never had anxiety attacks before then, now I keep getting them. I took medication for the attacks because I had to. I am going through my papers again to see who the people that I talked to are and I will call, at some point to see if they still work there and if anything was ever said to them about this whole mess.
By the way… I DON’T EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT AT CAPITAL ONE; yet, look what happened. I’m almost glad I don’t.
Can you blame me???

No virtual card number available????

Looks like noone from the company reads those complaints. That company is a pure scammer. I applied for a business credit card that had a promotional bonus. I have 90 days to spend big amount of money in order to get this bonus. But I cannot get virtual credit card number and need to wait for 2 weeks for this card to be shipped. Which makes it harder to fulfil the requirements. Be aware!

Really want to like them

Really want to like them, but buying Discover has limited my places to pay (got stuck in a garage, couldn't pay to exit) and they block charges causing service disruptions. I've been placing ads with Google and Facebook - all of them blocked by Capital One, causing huge disruptions and duplicate charges.

Banks shouldn't decide who you can do business with.
