Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 86 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many people found the staff polite, understanding, and helpful, often making customers feel at ease and guiding them professionally through their situations. Setting up payment arrangements was frequently described as an easy and straightforward process. However, some people experienced difficulties contacting the company, reporting no replies to letters or emails. A notable number of reviewers were dissatisfied with being pursued for alleged debts they did not recognize, believed to be statute-barred, or already settled. Specific concerns included rude agent interactions, a lack of discretion regarding debt collection, and issues with debt reporting.

scam

sent a letter to my mum last week stating that she owed £100 in debt, she recieved another letter today stating that this had now gone up to £1167, and she’s owed it since 2003🤣 she called and asked for statements, and after doing that they said ‘our mistake’ and closed off the payment

Take authority

They try to pin a debit on me I did not take out from ((25 years ago)) when I was a student. At the time I could not have gotten credit cards or loans because I didn't have any money and I was just a student with no income. All I had was a cashpoint card I remember it well.

This is a SCAM organisation. DO NOT PAY

What they do is they buy super old debts or something crazy like that and try and scare you into paying. You have no requirement to pay for anything, in fact it's just one big scam. DO NOT PAY.

Called to say I owe a debt, they owe me now

Be wary, probably a scam. Not in my proper name and never had dealings with a company they are claiming to be. I tried to contact them not because I was worried about owing money but concerned someone may have got credit in my name.

Called the number on the reverse of letter held out for 25 minutes before it was picked up.

Regardless, the letter is plain wrong and not sure if the company is regulated. If it is regulated then I will approach the ombudsman to forward a report. I can see it as being damaging towards vulnerable people.

If it transpires it has been done under regulation them will take action to seek compensation for malpractice. Judging by recent reviews and quick Google searches, a rocky road ahead for this company. Stepped on the wrong toes this time.

After getting through claimed it was a balance that was from 21 years ago owing to Littlewoods. It had been passed to numerous agencies and bought by a company arrow global. Arrow global have appointed capquest for collection who work in conjunction with another company called Opos.

Seriously don't know who is responsible for what but this is purely companies speculatively working together to write down non existing or possibly fraudulent debt in the hope that vulnerable people would rather pay a bit to wipe off problems further down the line.

Put into a context my alleged debt from 2004 was a little over £180. They at first offered to write it down to just over £45 if i agreed to pay it. After threatening the ombudsman they offered to remove it altogether.

I decided to decline the offer of writing it down and requested they pay me just over £180 by means of compensation or will raise a formal enquiry with the financial regulators or ombudsman. Naturally I am willing to write this down to just over £40 if they are willing to come to a settlement in the next 14 days. Will see how this goes. Good luck capquest and your partners whoever they are.

WARNING!! FAKE BUSINESS, SCAMMERS, FRAUDSTERS

Absolute bunch of low life scammers. They chose to set up a business where they somehow find your private contact details and continue to harass you for money by accusing you of having an outstanding debt. Be very careful, these cowboys are very good at deceiving you with professional headed letters demanding money. DO NOT fall for it. You can clearly see the positive ratings on here are fake.
DO NOT give them money and DO NOT give them your private information. Report them and ignore.

Scam. I received a letter stating that debt had been bought? Shop direct? No idea who they are. But reading a couple of reviews a penny dropped there is also another statement on this site matching word for word my letter with same amount😳. Scammer Thieves

Scammer Thieves.
I received a letter from Crapquest saying Capital One had passed a debt of mine, I Don't have any debts to anyone, and that I was to make all Capital one payments to crapqoest Opos not Capital one. To the sum of £1100. So, straight on the phone to the credit card company. They said I have no debts with them, never had and they want to increase my credit limit as I've got perfect payment history. The fraud department took all details from the letter said it isn't their reference number for any account and they will be contacting the credit/finance ombudsman and governing body to report fraudulent activities.
Citizens advice are also doing the same on my behalf.
They are con artists and if they contact me again I will charge them an admin fee and sue them for harrasing behaviour.
Losers scum and Thieves.

This company is clearly a bunch of scammers

We have lived at our address for 21 years

Received a letter for the previous owner who died in 1999 which is why we bought their house

By law any debt over 6 years old can’t be chased anyway

If you receive a letter from this company just bin it as you won’t owe the money
