Cash My Fone is a mobile phone recycling company that’s a cut above the rest. We’ve 10 years industry experience, and as well as being professional, we’re friendly and personal. That’s important to us. As is the environment. We send the working phones we receive to countries in Africa, the Far East and eastern Europe, where they are reused. This helps the environment and gives people all over the world access to mobile phone technology. We take the useful parts of the mobile phones we receive that are no longer in working order and recycle these components. Above all, we care about our customers. That’s why we’ve made our mobile phone recycling process speedy and straightforward. We don’t leave you hanging around waiting for payment long after you’ve sent your handsets to us & we simply can’t be beaten on price. That’s our guarantee to you. If you find a better price somewhere else, we want to hear about it.

How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
Only took 71 e-mails, 30 texts. 22 FB messages, untold unanswered calls and 2 weeks to get paid!
I do not recommend using this company.
If you look at facebook you will find a true representation of their customers opinions, some of whom claim not to have been paid in over 6 months! It is claimed that this company pay for reviews, an action that makes their service look appealing on the surface.
DIG DEEPER BEFORE SENDING YOUR PHONE.
They do not do business from the address listed on their website and they will not answer any of the phone numbers listed.
RUBBISH SERVICE, NOT PAID UP, AVOID
I've been waiting 2 weeks for my money. No communication, don't answer the phone, don't answer email, basically don't pay up. I expect all the reviews on here that are positive are fake as the dates coincide with when Cash My Fone admitted on twitter that they were having BACs transfer issues.
Also watch my negative review get pushed down the list almost instantly by 3 or 4 super positive reviews in quick succession. How can someone get super great service just days after no one is returning my calls.
EDIT (01/11/13)

A quick update.....CashMyFone seem to have blocked me from posting on their facebook wall as i keep linking to this review.
EDIT (04/11/13)
I rang the mobile number (linked above) and someone answered after 2 rings. He passed his phone instantly to a colleague who said he would investigate. He promised a call back and sure enough he did call back within 10 mins to confirm ("promise") that my funds would be released today and could be with me by the end of the day or up to 48 hours.
I would not recommend this company to anybody.
I responded to their website about five weeks ago with the intention of disposing of my iPhone4. The phone was little used and in mint condition and I was given an estimated value by email. On the basis of that I mailed the phone to them and waited for the promised confirmation of payment to my nominated account within 48 hours. Instead of that I received an email claiming that my phone "showed signs of excessive wear and tear". I was also offered a lower price which I decided to accept, without admitting to the alleged state of my phone. Since then the weeks went by and I have had (after a further email from me) an email dated 14th October confirming that payment would be initiated within 48 hours. Since then no payment has been received and I have no response to repeated phone calls and emails.
DO NO T USE THIS COMPANY
Like all the other negative comments shown below (which I have only just seen) CashMyFone deducted 15% off my original offer for my Iphone 4s, then i never heard a thing again. I've tried ringing 100s of times, their mail box is full and they either don't answer or the call fails.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Do not use this company!!!
Cash my fone offered me £182.50 for my iPhone 4s which was a very good price when they received it they said they was going to deduct 15% because it had excessive wear and tear which wasn't true as it was in excellent condition this was where the nightmare began I went on a few review sites and was shocked at how many bad reviews were posted about the company ranging from lack of payment and the return of the phone, they wouldn't answer the phone or emails. So I decided to call them , I phoned them for 3 days solid but no one would answer -the mail box was full so I couldn't leave a message then on the 4th day the mailbox was empty so I left a message but nobody called back I eventually got through to someone who works for momobile their sister company and told her to return the phone. After a few emails where I threatened to come to their office to collect my phone I received an email saying my phone was being sent back which I have received-I was the lucky one.the good reviews are obviously written by themselves if you don't believe me try ringing them before you send your phone and I guarantee no one answers or returns your call. this company needs to be closed down the only thing they're good at is sending you the envelope...please save yourself a load of grief and don't use this company
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY READ ALL REVIEWS
YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY AS PROMISED . THEY DO NOT ANSWER PHONES OR RESPOND TO EMAILS. I AM STILL WAITING DESPITE INITIAL EMAIL STATING PAYMENT MADE WITHIN 48 HRS
Heed the warnings and do not use!
I have to say, I was very much looking forward to writing this review after being asked "Don't forget to leave us a review about how you found our service" in one of their emails.
I was one of those people that saw a couple of negative reviews but proceeded to use the company anyway as they had the highest price for the phone I wanted to recycle.
I really, really wish I'd paid more attention. Since my case has finally been resolved I've now discovered that this company basically lists the highest prices for most handsets so you choose them, then claims there's something wrong with it and knocks off 10%. I've seen practically everyone on reviews and on their facebook page say this has happened to them, including myself. One facebook poster even sent in a practically new phone, still to be told there was something wrong with it.
Personally, I sent my phone in at the end of June and it's taken right up to a week ago (mid-September) to finally receive full payment. Previously I've used other companies who have been very prompt with payment or even acknowledging that they've received the device.
The customer service with these guys is shoddy to non-existent. They don't answer their phones, don't reply to emails and rarely respond to messages on facebook. In order to get my full payment I had to write a letter and post it via recorded delivery.
I'm awarding one star as I did eventually receive the originally quoted value for the device, albeit after some months.
My advice to you if you're considering this company: avoid at all costs. If you've come across the name because they were promising the highest price for the device you're looking to recycle, don't bother. Go for the 2nd highest and you'll save yourself a lot of hassle and likely receive payment in a far more timely fashion.
A dodgey rip off!
I wish I would of read these reviews on here before I sent my phones to them. I sent them in my own envelope as it stated to do in the FAQs on the website. I received an envelope from them 2 days after I sent my own and I called to see if this was a problem and was told no, it's fine. They 'never' received my phones and I never got any money. They said I needed to file a claim as I was the sender. However, Royal Mail states they have a contractual agreement to offer free post to their customers so they have actually paid for the post and are actually the senders and need to make the claim themselves. I called and spoke to a manager and he was firm with his opinion at first, when I relayed what I was told from Royal Mail he was quick to say he would call them and try to figure out what the situation is for filing a claim and would call me back.. I'm still waiting for this phone call. I have asked them to cancel my order as they now have all my details and bank account number and sort code. This is the second time I have been 'done over' on the internet. It's not a very nice feeling. So, if you are wondering whether to get a bit less £ from a local shop, or send it off to this dodgey website, GO TO THE SHOP! In future I will always read the reviews for things on google first before I use them.
Absolute rip off!
Sent them a brand new HTC Desire C which I classed as used as the seal was broken, it was removed from the box once to charge it (as per cashmyfone's t&c's). It was sent special delivery, in the original box, all accessories etc. got an email saying it didn't meet the t&c's, although it didn't state what was not right. Called 4 times on 4 days and haven't received a reply. Have sent an email today but not holding out much hope having read these reviews. Will report them to trading standards.
Awful experience, no payment and no phone!
I as everyone else have got the same story. Was given the best price, then deducted 15% due to T&C's, then accepted the reviewed price as was still best on market for my iPhone 4S 32GB, and 10 days on, still no payment, no response to emails or calls, and it is now out with the 5 working days they advised me of for payment. How do I go about getting something doen about this?? Can any one help? Can anyone advise me on how to black list my handset? Truly awful experience, and I am out of pocket by £180, and minus a phone!!
awful
sent my galaxy s3 phone to cash my fone are they were offering the best price £202.00 so i posted the phone by special delivery,i then had an email the next day, yes you guessed it ,not up to our t&cs and deducted 15%.i then excepted this offer ,and 1 week later still not received any cash despite an email claiming the money would be in my account within 48 hours.i have emailed several times, and tried to ring but phone calls and emails are never answered,i now have had this phone blocked/blacklisted contacted citizens advise, trading standards and watchdog.i am also going to the police as now they are handling stolen property. i advise everybody else to do the same. i just wish i read the reviews on trust pilot first and not the 4 stars google gave!
Strange behaviour
I wish I'd read these reviews before I dealt with this company.
Same story as most of the others here I'm afraid - after paying nearly £7 postage I got an email stating it didn't meet their T&Cs and offering me 25% less than the worth (£157 down to £118 - a massive £40 less than their website offer). I said no and asked for the phone back.
They phoned me the next day and said they'd reviewed the offer up to £130. They still wouldn't explain what the problem was and eventually muttered something about scratches. The phone has always been used in a protective case and I know it was immaculate when I sent it, and packaged well.
I asked for it back so that I can send it to a more reputable company.
They are totally playing on the fact that most people will accept the reduced offer having already gone to the trouble and cost of sending it off.
Each time I have spoken to their representative they have changed their story (I was told in a further phone call that the volume button didn't work).
This seems very unprofessional to me and I will advise others to avoid this company.
Appalling - still not money and less than original offer.
They received my mobiles on 19th August, reduced the price by 10%, I emailed to accept the price. I rang on Friday 23rd and was told they would pay that day, it is now 29th and still no money received so have contacted them again.
Go elsewhere
Wish I'd read the reviews before I picked this company but was fooled by the four stars under their link on Google. I now know that if you're selling a broken phone you'll be offered the same price as all the other companies. However, if your phone is working you'll be offered a fair bit more than the others so obviously people will choose them. But once they have your phone they will tell you it has a problem (and this includes scratches) and they'll offer you a lot less. At this point ask to have the phone returned. Don't even waste your time trying to argue with them. They are amazingly fast in responding to your order, sending out the envelope etc. but once they have your phone it all goes quiet and you have to chase them. Will NEVER use this company again.
Do not use this service
Sent two phones in excellent condition and full working order. Price quoted was accepted. I had to contact them 4 times by email and I also had to phone. After 3 full weeks I received a cheque at less than 50% of the price agreed. I have requested return of both phones ( a nokia C3-01 and a samsung galaxy Y ). I would rather hand them into the local charity shop than have this company keep them. I wish I had read your reviews before dealing with this company
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
After sending my phone off and it being recieved, the company offered me 25% less than what was originally agreed. There was no relevant explanation that referred to my specific phone - instead just a copy and paste from the t&c's.
I have requested that my phone be returned, but so far have not had a reply.
worst company EVER !!!
ok we went to them as they gave the highest price, sent our phone took ages to get a reply as to if they had received it. when they finally told us they had after threats of trading standards they gave us a reduced price we agreed to it and then waited and waited phone calls emails and more phone calls i had had enough reported them to trading standards, but then just when i was going to write them a letter found something VERY interesting, they have a sister company, i googled them and found a phone number and called it and low and behold it was ANSWERED, and within two hours i got my husband his money !!!!!! this is the number 0208 540 2268
Terrible
Same experience as all the other reviewers. Claimed not to have received phone even though had royal mail signature - threatened them with action. All of a sudden found phone - and offered knocked down price... said ok I'll take that. Didn't get cheque for weeks. Sent email again to say I hadn't received cheque and will be contacting consumer affairs. Get a call to say we hadn't accepted the offer. Bloody awful but obviously a ploy by the phone company so you either forget or don't bother. Just awful. I think the positive reviews on the other sites are left by staff.
Very bad – unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct and poor customer service.......
these people mostly do not answer the calls. even though they answered , they will never listen to you. these people are most annoying.
i sent my phones in special delivery and i tried to contact them after 3 days as i have not got any acknowledgement, they have not answered until 7 days have been passed. eventually after calling 100 times they answered then they gave me the reduced prices for my handsets then i requested my phones to be returned, then they said ok to return my handsets. 2 days later i did called them again as i have not received my handsets, this time they said the payment has been sent through as i accepted the prices and they can not return the handsets. whenever i questioned about my return request they put my call through some one else again and again. this is the way they operate. i wish i would not have sent my phones to this kind of below par rated company. i will never recommend this company to anyone.
crap
been waiting on payment and although it says paid into my account and been sent emails saying part of the payment has been sent i haven't received
