Rogue Trader

Absolutely shocking service from start to.....Can't really say when this "ordeal" will end if at all. As with everyone else i sent my non-scratched phone in perfect working order which i had owned for less than two months. According to royal mail it was delivered on the 20th of June but kept getting emails to say they hadn't received it yet. Once i replied saying it was sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery i get an email the same day saying they now had the phone but that they were reducing the price by 15% due to "signs of general wear and tear and/or minor technical issues". Absolute joke!

Anyway after numerous emails, facebook messages and phone calls i have had ZERO replies and not once did they answer the phone. It's now the 17th of July and still nothing. Robbed. So much for "We promise to pay within 48 hours".

Now i'm in the position where even if they do get in touch and i ask for the phone back to sell elsewhere the prices offered by other firms have now dropped in the 27 days since they took receipt of my mobile!

Trading Standards and BBC's Watchdog have been informed.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS FIRM.

Don't use this company, they are crooks.

I have proof that my phone was delivered on 17.06.13. I was promised payment on 24.06.13 at a reduced price of course, this seems to be a regular occurrence; I still have not received payment. All of my emails are ignored, their phones are never answered. I wish I had read reviews before sending my phone. I am now issuing a summons via the Small Claims Court fast. I have reported them to Trading Standards and Action Fraud (on line). Everyone should take similar action and shut these crooks down.

Slow and dishonest

I chose this company as they offered the best price (£165) for my HTC One X. This was a brand new free upgrade handset which had never been used which was sent straight to Cash My Fone.

It has taken four weeks for me to receive any cash and even then they only gave me £145, saying the phone was not in the condition described (It was actually brand new and still in the wrapping!) so I do feel a little cheated as I know the phone was in excellent condition.

Don't bother trying the Cash My Fone customer service number as they never answer - I got through by calling Momobile Worldwide on 0208-540-2268. The staff there were really helpful and a bit embarrassed saying they had a huge backlog of phones to check which was why it was taking time.

It's shame they clearly can't cope with the number of phones they are receiving by making dishonest offers to attract business.

Disappointed.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I sent my phone off on the 13/6/13 and royal mail clearly says it was signed for on the 17/6/13. I have sent emails and tried calling numerous of times which always goes to answer phone or has an engaged tone but still can not speak to someone! I have just sent an email saying if someone doesn't reply to me within 24 hrs then i will be taking the matter further! I don't care if someone's phone is worth £1.00 or £500 it's the principle that a company thinks it's ok to do this! They should be shut down! I just wish i looked at reviews before using this company, i certainly would not of thought twice about going somewhere else!

Just go somewhere else.

Avoid this company and use another one. Very poor communication, they didn't answer any of my emails, never picked up their phones. Dropped 25% (!) off my price despite only having some cosmetic wear and tear. The whole process from sending my phone off (June 3rd) and receiving confirmation that my phone had been processed (today, July 5th) took way too long and the lack of communication got me worried. In short, just go somewhere else. I've used companies like Fonebank and Envirofone where everything is sorted in a week. Avoid, for your own good.

Extremely Poor Customer Experience - Stay Away!!

I sent my 2 good as new iPhone 4's 16GB (both had screen protectors on front and back and had been kept in a case and used very lightly). I was quoted £209 for each phone on the website. Luckily due to the value I sent them RM Special Delivery so had tracking and proof of delivery.

I started to worry when I hadn't heard anything for 2 weeks, they are IMPOSSIBLE to contact, no one answers the phone or replies to emails. In frustration I spoke to Trading Standards to report them and left the company a voicemail to let the know this is what I had done.

Surprisingly I received an email from them 2 days later to say they had just received my phone, even though the tracking number said it had been signed for over 2 weeks ago.

I then immediately received an email to say that as per their terms and conditions due to excessive wear and tear they would have to deduct 10% from the original quoted sales price. This is a load of rubbish as the phones were pristine and their T&Cs say they will only deduct 10% for "Excessive" wear and tear.

Anyway I accepted their counter offer because I just wanted an end to dealing with them because the whole process has been a nightmare.

I did get the money in the end but will NEVER deal with this company again.

Be warned although their quote looks attractive compared to other companies you will never receive this price and I would strongly suggest that you check out their T&Cs and if you still want to risk it then send your phone using a tracked service otherwise the likelihood you will hear from them after you have sent your phone is slim.

Overall advice - avoid this company.

Very slow but got there in the end.

Sent my phone off on the 2nd June, and received confirmation of receipt on 7th June. They emailed me the say that, because of scratches and dents, they would taken 10% off the quoted price. This didn't bother me; it does say on their website they will reduce if it doesn't meet their standards, plus it was still more than any other recycling company were offering me (even though I now see they've increased their pay out price for my phone... typical.)

Didn't hear anything further after that, 2 weeks came and went. Tried calling their provided numbers but they never went through to a person - their mailbox was full or the line was engaged. I sent numerous emails just enquiring of what was happening. I didn't mind waiting, I just wanted to know if my money was coming.

After about 3 weeks I received another email to say my order was complete and 2 days later received my cheque for the amount quoted.

So although a slow and painful process with no communication, I have got my cheque and for a lot more than other recycling companies quoted, so I can't complain really. I've seen a lot of swearing and abuse across their twitter/facebook sites and can understand the frustration but I imagine this can't have helped their situations. However, would not recommend.

they have not paid me and have my phone!!!!!! can someone help???

Hi I sent a brand new Samsung galaxy s3 to them 2.weeks ago by special delivery. They offered me £205. They kept emailing me to say they had not received my email. I sent a reply advising I sent it special delivery. Suddenly they found my phone. Then another email comes saying there is technical issues and wear and tear on phone!!!!! It's brand new and never been turned on. I sent a snotty email back saying I reject the offer of a lesser amount and I want my phone back along with my postage reimbursed. I have had no reply, no money and no phone back. I have sent a further 5 emails one even threatening them with trading standards and the police. Again nothing. I have tried calling the office numbers on the website bit they just say inbox full no messages can be taken. Please can anyone help????? This is not fair, my phone has practically been stolen. I really need the money and can't afford to be out of pocket. Do you have any advice?? Thanks Gemma

First and only time I will ever use this company

Foolishly I used this company before reading their reviews. I received multiple emails from them saying they had not received my phone even though I had sent it to them on the day of placing the order. After a week of this I was sent an email stating the phone was damaged and my offer was reduced, I can expect this as there was some minor wear and tear. I was asked in the email to call them to confirm the offer and to authorise payment to me. I've tried calling both numbers provided but both are never answered. All I was greeted with was a poorly recorded answerphone. I left a voicemail message with my order/contact details but still haven't heard back from them. I feel I have been scammed. From now on I will take the lower offers from respected company's like [external reference] or [external reference].

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Absolutely awful

I sent my phone off a week and a half ago and have heard nothing since. Looks like they have done this to a lot of people - I have sent 20 emails to them with no reply and sat there all day yesterday with my phone to trying to get through on the phones however the phones lines are constantly busy. I am now beginning to worry. I think this company is shocking and on the website it says you 'can always speak to someone' - my arse can you. I would never reccommend this site to anyone and if anyone from cashmyfone is reading this - PLEASE CAN YOU CONTACT ME.

Sent my phone special delivery and didnt hear anything to say they received it. After constantly phoning up because there was no reply to emails. I had to tell the person on the phone to lower the music in the background because i couldnt hear them speak.. When i finally got an offer, i accepted immediatly but again heard nothing for a further week. Im still waiting for my money to be paid into my account

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I read a number of reviews before contacting Cashmyfone. I knew that they wouldn't actually offer me the first price once they'd received my phones. But it was the reasoning they gave that infuriated me.
I was offered £20 for each of my phones - I had 2. I sent them off and THEN received a pre paid envelope with instructions (thanks). A week later I'd heard nothing so I sent them a chaser e-mail. They responded the same day to say they'd received the phones. Then again to say that there was a problem and they had to drop the price to £17 each due to 'scratches and dents'.
There were NO scratches or dents on those phones. They were in perfect condition, all they actually needed was a clean.
I responded saying as much and heard nothing. I chased THREE times and still heard nothing. I gave in and asked for my cheque.
I then recieved an e-mail offering me more money - 6p more!! I found this incredibly insulting.
This company have no respect and should be avoided at all costs.

Tried to rip me off

Was offered 15% less than quoted price due to excessive wear and tear which was totally untrue. There wasn't a scratch on the item I sent. Accepted 5% less as it cost me £11 to send so would have lost even more money by sending it elsewhere. Will not use this company again

Only 2/3 of value given

I used this company as had better reviews than others, however they emailed to say the phone had a speaker fault and scratches. None of which were the case before it reached them. I wrapped it in bubble wrap so shouldn't have been caused in transit! They should just offer a lower price in the first place and pay it, rather than offering higher to get you interested then making things up!!

Rubbish. Price quoted for condition of my phone was not what I ended up with. Beware.

I had an iPhone 4S for 18 months. It was not damaged whatsoever and worked perfectly. The website price offered me was £221.50 slightly more than other reputable recycling companies I have used before without a problem. The price quoted was for a working handset with wear and tear. Now considering a phone is used every day and carried on your person or in a bag will end up with surface scratches over the period of ownership. This isn't except able to Cash my Phone. My phone sat in a protective case since I had it from new out of the box. I packaged it well in a bubble wrap packet and wrapped it tissue paper. When it arrived the other end it was miraculously excessively scratched on the rear and on the screen. Obviously this would mean a downgraded price of £190.00 andI only got that through complaining. They wanted to reduce the price by 15%. Obviously I had to except it as I didn't fancy them posting it back to me judging by the poor service already received. If cash my phone want as new condition they should advertise as such.

Unhappy as various issues throughout transaction

I sent my phone to the company for them to tell me they never received it a week later. I sent it via special delivery which is next day. Then once they found it they stated there were problems with it. They reduced the price and I wasn't happy with this but it would have been more hassle for them to return it. They stated 48 hours for payment to reach me and its been over a week and I still haven't had payment.
