Absolutely unacceptable experience.

The night before our scheduled house move — after our booking had been confirmed well in advance — we were contacted and told the company no longer had a truck available for our booking. We were given two “options”: upgrade to a 10-tonne truck (which physically could not be parked on our residential street), or downgrade to a 4-tonne truck.

This left us with no real choice but to accept the smaller truck less than 24 hours before moving day — an incredibly stressful position to put a family in when everything is already organised around a confirmed booking.
Because the smaller truck could not fit our belongings in one load, we were forced to pay for two trips, significantly increasing the total cost of the move. In other words, we paid more money due to a problem entirely created by the company. The only concession offered for this disruption was a $10 per hour discount, which did little to offset the additional time and expense incurred.

It strongly appears that this business overbooks its trucks as part of its operating model, only to reshuffle customers into different vehicle sizes at the last minute — conveniently resulting in higher charges for the customer while leaving them with no time to find an alternative provider.

Reliability is the single most important quality in a removalist company, and this experience demonstrated none. A confirmed booking should mean exactly that — confirmed.

Movers were efficient, cheap and did not damage any items or the property. They were slightly unfriendly and a bit awkward to talk to but it didn’t impede much on the process.

The removalists were very helpfull. It was a very hot day but they still kept going no stop and the went above and beyond their duty. Very happy with the company.

Contractor turned up with the wrong size truck. They were only able to load 2/3 of our items. We were told if a bigger truck was needed it would be extra. They arrived at the new house and refused to unload unless we paid an extra $500. We refused. Police were called. They were informed to unload the furniture onto the ground and leave. If they left without unloading they were in possession of stolen goods. An agreed amount was reached and payment was only done once the last item came off. They are a bunch of scammers. Do not use them. If I could do a negative score I would. The guys were inexperienced. My back is buggered so I couldn't help. I did removals for 5 years so I know what to expect. I even had to show them how to move furniture properly

If customer service is so important to you and now you want to discuss satisfaction it's bullshit. You argued with me from 2.20pm to 4.20pm. During that time you treated me and my wife with utter lack of respect and discontent. You on the phone yelled at me, every time we spoke you mentioned the price was increasing minute by minute. I told you I wasn't paying the time the truck was sitting idle. You had 4 hours to come up with a solution to your mistake but nothing. And now you have a negative comment your all about looking good and making it sound like your sorry.

It wasn't until the police involvment you finally reached a reasonable amount we accepted even though a 1/3 of our goods were STILL at the old house. You say you are in your rights to hold the furniture, that is incorrect. The police told you that if the truck left the premises with our furniture, you were in possession of stolen goods.

People out there keep this in mind!!!

CBD Removalists arrived on time, were fast & efficient, and made the whole process seem effortless…..

The two gentlemen who came to move my furniture were very efficient, helpful, punctual and polite. I strongly recommend this company.

Absolutely the worst moving company I’ve ever dealt with. I booked CBD Movers for a job on 13 February, and the experience was a complete disaster. They showed up late, barely communicated, and then left without giving any explanation at all. No update, no apology, nothing. Just disappeared.

This level of unprofessionalism is unbelievable. I was left standing there with boxes and furniture ready to go, and they simply walked off. If this is how they treat paying customers, they have no business operating.

I will be reporting this to Fair Trading, because people deserve to know exactly what kind of service they’re walking into.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Very satisfied with the help, friendly, easy and timely booking, the guys who dis the job were friendly and professional and did a great job. Highly recommend CBD Movers and will be using them again.

Had a great experience. They moved my stuff safely and everything arrived in the condition it was.

The team was punctual, professional, and handled everything with care. Communication was clear from start to finish, and the whole process felt easy and well-organised. Overall, a very positive experience would happily recommend them to anyone moving in the city.

Good & reliable service

NEVER USE CBD MOVERS. You might be tempted to because you've looked at a few quotes and they're the cheapest. Please don't do it. They're only the cheapest because their business model is using random unexperienced subcontractors who will damage your furniture, then deny it. You'll then make a complaint, but CBD Movers won't put it right, they'll side with the random subcontractor and gaslight you by telling you that you scratched your own furniture or it was already like that. Their call centre is cheap overseas labour hire and the people who work there are trained to admit nothing and deny everything.

Don't take my word for it, google 'CBD Movers Public Warning - Consumer Affairs Victoria'. And please use literally any other removalist.

The Gentleman arrived at the time they confirmed with me and they were polite and it was a very smooth service thank you.

They did such an amazing job, the move was not easy and took almost 7hours (to no fault of theirs, they were very efficient, it would have taken me 3 days to move what day did in less than half a day!) with multiple trips up and down stairs and elevators, but they worked efficiently and got the job done. None of my items were damaged and they handled all of my fragile items with great care. Pricing was amazing for the job. Worth every penny.

Great. Communicated well, efficient on the day. Moved everything safely. Friendly staff.
