The chancellors letting team is very helpful. My case has been carried on very efficiently. It took less than a month to fix a buyer, and the team helped me for the home inspection, etc. During the whole process my property manager Hollie Callaghan helped me a lot. I would highlight my letting experience with Chancellors.

I had a consistently bad experience with these people as property managers. The communication was poor, the follow-up was poor and chasing them up for clear updates almost became like a part-time job for me. I raised my concerns a number of time with the Directors and still nothing was done to improve the service provided. Stay away if you are looking for a good letting agent.

Please do not use this company.
I rarely write reviews, but I feel strongly that I need to share my experience to protect other landlords from going through what has been the most stressful period of my life. We started with this company from July 2022.
I placed my property on the rental market with Chancellors. Initially, they were very charming and reassuring. However, when I raised concerns that the credit checks did not appear clear, I was assured there was nothing to worry about and that full due diligence had been completed. I was told the listed tenants could comfortably afford the rent.
After the first month, we received no payment. From then on, payments were irregular and unreliable.
No property inspections were carried out as expected. When I chased this, I was sent inspection reports for someone else’s property. Communication was extremely poor throughout. I was repeatedly misled and told things that later were retracted. I now avoid speaking on the phone because conversations were denied or contradicted afterwards.
Even a formal complaint took months to receive a response — and only after my husband called to escalate it.
We spent a year attempting to evict a tenant who was not paying rent. A court order was granted, but the tenant applied for a breathing space order, meaning they did not have to leave or pay rent. When the tenant eventually agreed to leave, Chancellors arranged an inspection while the tenant still had belongings in the property.
The property was left in a disgusting condition. We have had to refit the kitchen, replace flooring throughout, repaint entirely, and carry out significant garden work — all at substantial cost.
Chancellors said they would support us with the deposit replacement scheme but provided no meaningful help despite repeated follow-ups and evidence submitted. Eventually, a payment was made, but only after persistent chasing.
Despite the fact that we never received the unpaid rent, Chancellors are insisting on charging fees on rent that was never paid to us. I am not in a financial position to pursue the tenant through further court proceedings, as this situation has already left us in debt. Property Redress has acknowledged my concerns but stated they cannot rule that the fees do not apply.
In principle, it makes no sense to charge fees on money that was never received, especially when the service was not delivered properly. The only offer made was a 25% reduction in fees, which I do not believe is justified when the rent was never paid and the management service failed.
I was not even provided with the tenant’s address until six months into the tenancy.
To make matters worse, I continue to receive marketing calls from the company asking if I want to sell my property or use their services again. After the financial and emotional damage this has caused my family, this feels completely inappropriate.
This experience has left us in a worse financial position, in debt, and still paying the price. Instead of pursuing the tenant for unpaid rent, they are pursuing me for fees on money I never received.
If Chancellors wish to recover their fees, I suggest they pursue the tenant for the unpaid rent and deduct their fees from that.
I would strongly advise any landlord to think very carefully before using this company.

Grace Betts has been brilliant since she started managing my rental property. Although she hasn't been in this position for long, she knows about my property really well, takes good care of all maintainence/repair cases and keeps me posted all the time. She is so friendly and caring. She always goes above and beyond. I am so sorry to hear that she is moving to another area soon - She even gave me a notice on job change! I will miss her hard work massively and hope whoever is replacing her would be as good as she is!

I reported a failure in my heating and hot water on Sunday evening via email and was contacted Monday morning by Molly Adams and by 4pm Monday the issue was fixed.
Molly kept me updated on the repair and phoned me Tuesday morning to ensure all was ok.
Great service, quick resolution

It's rent review time. As a landlord, I try to be fair with my tenants about any increases. As intermediaries, it's down to staff to navigate these conversations, in this case, Jamie Woodman. I appreciate that many tenants are facing difficult financial times, and needed Jamie to talk to them, make an assessment of their situation, offer them a couple of options, and report back to me. Jamie showed maturity, professionalism and courtesy throughout, and was efficient in keeping me posted midway, and on conclusion. Thankyou, Jamie.

Have dealt with Chancellors as a Landlord for 20 years and have always had a great, professional service from them. Amy Jones in Renewals has always been friendly professional and efficient. She asked me to put in this review and I had no hesitation is doing so. Renewals can be awkward and fraught and she has made them simple with clear and prompt communication. Five stars because it has taken all the stress away from me.
