Chancellors are incessantly breaking data protection law in contacting me despite requests for them to stop, years after I first had contact with them on an unrelated matter

We appreciate the support we received in leasing our new property. Jude Boag-Matthews and Danielle Archer's initial support in enabling us to view a good range of properties and to finalise the lease on this one was excellent. Since we moved in, our agent, Franki Deacon, has also been highly responsive and friendly. Five stars all around. Thank you!

Everything! misadvertised/marketed my property, appears they breached Data Privacy regarding what my house had to offer to the public, which attracted the wrong tenant and wasted me 2 months of my time with rental loss and other costs and have the audacity to send me a letter before claim for a tenant find only and there was no tenant find! there misrepresentation of my property was their error. Also, the tenants were unsuitable as failed references, their guarantor could only cover 2/3rds of rent, they had more animals than Chancellors had said, they delayed and messed me around during referencing that I paid for and despite this was willing to give them a chance and then they bailed out just before signing the AST as they said they understood the garage was part of the rental property and it was not. I told Chancellors to take that out of their advert and they did not do so. Have they breached my privacy? we shall see, I believe they have. They decided to aim to pressure me to pay the tenant find only fee plus interest because I've not paid them. WHO DOES THAT? who would charge for their own incompetencies and failed tenant find? They did not supply me with what I was told I would get and I could not afford to waste more time and void money losses on any more risks with them. Also, they delayed coming back to me when I notified them of the tenant fail and having served my 8 week sole period with them had to find my own tenant. I did not know that the 12 week term meant I was locked in with them for 12 weeks plus their 4 week cancellation period. I will be updating on how this progresses. I now believe they may keep their best more financially able tenants for their fully managed service. READ and ask questions about the agreement before signing it, I believe it's misleading. In their emails says 8 week sole period then in the agreement you see a tiny little no. 12 week term plus 4 weeks notice of cancellation. Yes, they really expected me to go back and take further risks of further dud tenant finds. So a 3 month void then becomes a 4 or 5 or 6 month void? With allegedly suggesting to tenants they could possibly offer a bit less rent as well the poor landlord is making no profit after paying the mortgage. I've spent so much time arguing my point and they don't care. They don't tell you in person or in their emails (not from the ones I've seen) how this 12 week term actually works. You see for years they said 'If not happy with your tenant find there is no fee to pay' yet, even when their tenant find fails because they haven't found you a quality tenant (failed references, messed you around during referencing, delayed referencing) that you pay for and it was them that made a big error they think it's ok to legally pressure you to pay it. Had they have found me a quality nice tenant within a reasonable amount of time e.g. 6 weeks is more than fair amount of time especially when they lure you in with they have plenty of applicants waiting in the wings willing to pay a good rental price. Then of course once you join them the tenants start offering less rent. Strange that don't you think? I've been advised that they have breached my Data so I'm looking into this legally myself. I will let you all know how it goes in due course. I have some surprise news though. I'm changing my status and standing so their legal jurisdiction won't apply as the law I will operate under will be a higher law than they legalese law. They will have to respond to me in the form of an Affidavit once they receive the Notices and Estoppels which must have the truth in it and can they do that? if they do they will see their own errors if they don't it's as I understand it a serious crime to misrepresent the truth in an affidavit. I have a strong sense of what is right and wrong and on this occasion Chancellors are ethically wrong. Had they have sent me a quality tenant I would have paid them. I cannot pay them for what they did not deliver and furthermore if they do pursue this, they won't win and they will damage their reputation further as a very bad true account experience is news that spreads fast.
I interacted with freya and Charlie in Headington branch of Chancellors, and had a really pleasant experience. They are quite caring and efficient. They put a lot of effort to find the right match.

I’ve been looking for a flat for a while and finally had some luck with Chancellors. Their agent, Charlie Howlett was brilliant - I was able to book the viewing shortly after the ad went live, viewed the property, and I let him know I was super keen. Charlie got all of the documents out to me that very evening with a few notes on how to best position myself to be selected to rent the property. After following his instructions, I received a congratulatory call from Charlie less than 24 hours later to let me know the landlord had accepted my offer and gave me a move in date.
Delighted with the personable service I received from Charlie at Chancellors Headington and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new home. Thanks again!!
