It's not worth the customer service hell!
On past trips I have used Cheap Caribbean to book trips with great results...but all of that changed on my latest booking where I needed to contact customer service. To start this nightmare off, I accidentally booked our trip to be breakfast only instead of all-inclusive, when I heard the wait times for phone customer service, I immediately cancelled the trip online myself and rebooked as the all-inclusive, no problem right? Wrong. It's now been 30 days and I still haven't been refunded the original booking to my credit card ($2,500 accruing interest on my dime). Customer service has since told me via e-mail that it will be 30-60 days from the date of cancellation, I've never had such a long wait time to be refunded with any other company.
I could have gotten over that but I randomly received an email late last week titled "Important Schedule Change Information for CONFIRMATION NUMBER" from an address at applelg.net (which via Google search looks to be the parent company of Cheap Caribbean). To paraphrase this email said, "we received a change to your original flight schedule for your upcoming trip" and provided me an alternate flight plan on a different email with connections and wanted to charge me $185 more per person (the original flight was all non-stop). There was no real other information except to email them back to accept the different flight or to call the customer service number. Mind you I checked with Delta and the flight confirmation they sent me is still good so I'm not sure what this is all about.
Thus started the living hell that is the Cheap Caribbean customer service phone line. Traveller, God forbid you need to call customer service with an issue on your trip, because you will rack up thousands of dollars in international phone minutes. I have spoken with three customer service reps and waited on hold for over 6.5 hours and counting (I'm still on the phone and that prompted me to write this review). Here are the summaries of my attempts to contact them:
1) Waited 2 hours to talk to a rep, they told me I needed to be transferred to another department and after another hour on hold, I was disconnected
2) Waited 1.5 hours on hold to talk to a rep, I told him my issue and he was extremely rude and told me to quit talking and that it was his birthday, after a diatribe about his birthday I was told that it was a fake email and to call Delta
3) Waited over 2 hours to talk to a rep, she transferred me to another department where I have been on another hour of hold and counting
This service is terrible, I still have no clue what is going on with my flight and I have now wasted a lot of valuable time just trying to get an answer (in addition to the interest racking up on the refund that takes 30-60 days). At this point who knows if this second department will pick up or be able to solve the issue, will I be on hold until I die? It is quite possible.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. Booked a trip in 2020 that was supposed to leave right before shut down. Cheap Caribbean did give me a full credit for a future trip. Then in January 2021, about 2 months before our re-booked trip was to take place, they sent a note saying that the hotel we were to stay at was not available, but we could choose 2 other hotels. The 2 other hotels did not have anything we wanted and since it was not our fault that the hotel was not available, we tried to contact them. I have been on hold over 6 times, I have been cut off, or couldn't stay on hold over 3 hours because of work in order to speak to someone. The person who booked the trip said there is nothing they can do. I filed a claim with the better business bureau. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
I’ve already wrote one review and hers…
I’ve already wrote one review and hers my second. I had a follow up email about my complaints which was simply the same “fine print double talk” I’ve already been given. These are unprecedented times and travel is risky. All I want to do is use my travel credit towards a future cruise that cheap Caribbean sells. I’m not being unreasonable. None of the email’s response makes sense nor does it address any of the extremely rude customer service that I received. I will never use Cheap Caribbean again. This is no way to conduct business especially in these times, in the travel industry
"Travel credit" after cancellation is useless and fraudulent
I purchased a vacation in OCT2020. Due to my being a doctor and needing to cover extra call shifts due to the COVID pandemic, I had to cancel my trip. I called to see if they would consider refunding me for my extenuating circumstances, fully understanding that their policy was only to issue credit. They declined to refund me and gave me the credit, which I was fine with.
But, they explicitly told me I would need to contact the air carrier to use the portion of my purchase that went toward flight tickets, and that I would need to contact Cheap Caribbean themselves to use the credit from the portion of my purchase that went toward lodging.
A few months later I tried to contact the air carrier. They tell me they actually refunded Cheap Caribbean fully for the flight they booked for me, at the time I canceled my trip. So obviously they can't give me any credit.
So I tried to contact Cheap Caribbean to figure this out. I sent them messages using their website, as well as emails, which they do not respond to. I called them several times and am placed on hold for as long as 2-3 hours each time. They drop my call, or they tell me there is no supervisor around who can help me, or they promise me a call back the next day -- which they do not actually do.
It is impossible to get a hold of them to discuss this aberrancy in my travel credit. So it is useless and the cancellation policy is bogus.
Cheapskates
In January 2020 we booked a trip for June 2020 and purchased the additional trip insurance. Due to covid-19 CheapCaribbean ended up having to cancel the flights. Since the destination is an island that's the only way we could get there. We spend hours upon hours contacting CheapCaribbean. They finally did a partial refund but told us we would have to contact TripMate for the insurance portion. After months of each company pointing us back to the other we were finally told to dispute with the credit card company. I'm sure they are aware credit credit companies will not do anything that long after the purchase. We are out close to $400 and will never do business with CheapCaribbean ever again.
If I could give this company negative…
If I could give this company negative stars I would. Do not use this company!! I made a reservation to go to Mexico and the agent messed up my return date. I called back to fix this and after 2 hours and 17minutes on hold I was passed to a supervisor Sophia Leiva who was completely unable to fix any of the errors on the part of the agent and I was told it would take 24 hours for them to listen to the recorded call and would call me immediately back. Now, a week later and no return call(of course) I am told it now takes 10 business days to have them listen to the recorded call so they will not have enough time prior to my departure. This company is completely incompetent and would never recommend them no matter what the price is. I learned the hard way!
Update:
An angel named Beth called me and fixed my reservation and could not have been nicer. I am so thankful!!! Cheap Caribbean came through for me!
What happened to this company?
What happened to this company? I used them before and all was fine, not this time.
They upsold me on my airfare saying it included 1 checked bag each. They lied! The call was recorded.
They sold me luxury transportation to and from the airport to the resort. It was a cramped little van. They lied. The call was recorded.
Then they denied both. Then they would not answer calls. Hold times are an hour or more but at the end of that time you are still on hold. The international toll free number is not toll free.
You email and they send a reply that ignores what you say.
I started trying to get this fixed at the airport waiting for my plane out after paying again for luggage and kept trying all week of my vacation. The day before I am to leave they email me saying they are referring me to "post travel" customer service. Hey there, I'm still in Mexico for another day and a half! Fix it before I leave please?
Nope. They say it will be 15 to 30 days!
Crooks.
They don't answer calls. Don't serve. Don't help. Don't fulfill their word.

Had a trip booked for 3/14/20 to Punta Cana through Cheap Caribbean. We have used CC many times in the past. Repeat customers we were. We had to cancel for Covid and Cheap Caribbean did their best to not answer their phones and not call back. The worst customer service ever, but, not only that, in the end they stole $1300.00 from me. I had the premium insurance as well. Get this, the couple we were going with ended up getting all their money back for the trip excluding a full credit for their airfare. They did not have the insurance, but one of them worked for a law firm. Don't ever use Cheap Caribbean, they are thieves. They are owned by Apple Leisure Group and include several brands including Apple Vacations and Funjet to name a few. A few more to stay away from

Booked a trip to Cancun a couple of weeks ago and noticed my name on my itinerary was misspelled. We have spent hours on the phone trying to get a hold of someone to help us and haven’t been able to reach a live human! We even wanted to add friends to our trip and upgrade and can’t! Our flight carrier and times have been changed without our knowing with layovers as well! Terrible customer service! I am so disappointed as I was really hoping for better! I’m not even confident that this is a legitimate booking!

I have been waiting for a refund for 4 months and no one is able to help me. I have sent several emails and called several times and no answer. Their costumbre service is terrible! Do not book with them.
Good Customer Service
I spoke with Paola who was very kind and helpful. she solved my issues right away and I am very pleased with her help. Thankyou Paola
Worst company ever
Worst company ever! They are dishonest they will not give you a refund ever. They canceled my trip and won’t rebook it. I spent 5 hours on hold mostly to get it resolved they just hang up after putting you on hold. Please don’t waste your time or money on this site.
I don’t understand all of the bad reviews...
I don’t understand all of the bad reviews here....tens of thousands of people have had to reschedule their trip because of the government caused Covid 19 pandemic! Did you really expect no hold time? They give the option to leave your number if you can’t wait on hold and they actually RETURN the call! If you read things before you sign them there should be zero misunderstanding. We have booked at least 10 trips through them. I’m currently on my trip to St. Thomas which I had to change the destination because of the new order about not being able to re enter the US without a negative Covid test....I’m sorry but I’m just not willing to risk that! I left my number in the CC que and they called me back and we re booked the trip at no extra fees. It was quite simple and they were very helpful. Don’t give a company a bad rep just because you didn’t read the fine print nor comprehend it. They’ve helped many of my travel dreams come true and for that I’m very loyal to them. Thanks CC for being a great travel partner! I’m currently listening to the waves lap against the beach in my ocean front, all inclusive room and am living my best life!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ZERO STARS
There was not an option for ZERO stars but that is what i give their company ZERO, horrible customer service i have been on the phone for 7 1/2 hours to cancel a trip i purchased travel insurance to receive my money back in the original form of payment, they are refusing to give it back and want to issue me travel credit i dont want travel credit as i will never use this company for anything ever again. All they keep telling me is that is not the type of insurance i purchased even after i have sent them the copy of the policy 2 times now while i wait on hild.
IF I COULD DO NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!
IF I COULD DO NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! Do not book through this company
I booked a vacation for next month on Monday at 10pm! ( time of purchase) which was after hours so they told me time of purchase was 4am Jan 12. I sent a request at 9PM JANUARY 12 to request a cancellation WELL WITHIN 24 hours per their policy for full refund! The office was closed so I again reached out at 8AM January 13 and spoke with yartarth via their chat help online ( because no one answers the phone after hours of waiting) he promised me 4 DIFFERENT TIMES and I have screenshots of the convo of him stating I am getting a full refund because I requested within 24 hours and I asked again and again and he kept assisting yes I will get it within 30 days since I am within 24 hours of cancellation. Well to my surprise I received an email from RAVI SINGH saying I’m not eligible for a refund TWO DAYS LATER AFTER I WAS TOLD 4 TIMES YES YES YES. So I went back to the chat and spoke with akash who was “looking into it and trying his best” and then ended the chat on me, then contacted again and spoke with nitish and apparently not in the 24 hour window because it was “purchased” at 4am Jan 12 and “cancelled Jan 13 at 2:55pm which I reached out for the request at 9pm Jan 12 online ( I have a screenshot) and didn’t get to speak to someone till 8am ( 4 hours passed THEIR 24 hour mark which is their hours of operation) and also have an email of my cancellation at 8:30am because I finally got to speak to an actual human and not an email on Jan 13 while speaking with yartarth on the chat ( I also have a screenshot). Now All the sudden I don’t get a refund because they finally processed it late and completely disregarded my request which their policy is WITHIN 24 hours OF REQUEST OF CANCELLATION not when they proceed things! Regardless of time I have screenshots of IN WRITING promises to my FULL REFUND. So cheap Carribean I want my refund as said in writing and I will not let this go until I get what was promised and will continue to dispute the charge and write bad reviews so now one EVER falls into this nonsense ! I wish I could list those screenshots here for the world to see !!!
I booked a vacation with my cousin and…
I booked a vacation with my cousin and our two children for March 2020. Due to the pandemic we had to postpone. We contacted Cheap Caribbean to rebook was made aware that our trip would be less than the amount we originally paid. But we would have to take a loss on this difference. Cheap Caribbean blamed this loss on the airline. The airline explained that Cheap Carribean has full control of our flight credit and is choosing not to give us the balance of our booking. After being on hold for over 4 hours I spoke with a very rude supervisor who eventually hung up on me and offered no resolution. She in no way tried to help the situation. Nor did she want to direct me to someone that could actually help. She also refused to give me the name of her supervisor. I was not looking for a refund but it is not okay to have to take a loss due to circumstances outside of my control. I was more than willing to a credit for a flight towards a future booking but I am not being offered that option.
DO NOT BOOK with cheap Caribbean.
No refunds - unreal - UPDATED!!
Cheap Caribbean reached out through this site and asked for more information. About a week later I received a call from them telling me a fill refund is on its way. Thank you! We'll be back.
Was so excited for a vacation in April 2020 but Covid. I get that they couldn't give out refunds right away, instead extending a future credit until January. CDC still says not to go to the Caribbean, and I'm stuck with a credit that I can't possible use. Sat on hold today waiting 3 hours and 40 minutes and finally got through to Luis. He said my credit was extended until December 2021. Gee thanks...Like things are going to be any better by then. More likely, CheapCaribbean will go under and I'll lose it all.
Best case, things open up a little...then I get to wait on a call for four more hours to book. Insanity.
Do us all a favot CheapCaribbean -add Florida to your destinations so I can at least recoup some of my loss.
Will NEVER use again!
I have been a Cheap Caribbean customer for several years and have always had great experiences when booking my travel accommodations using their services until recently. I booked a trip in December 2019 for August 2020 for a wedding in the Dominican Republic. Of course this was before the pandemic broke out. I called and called and would be on the phone for up to FOUR HOURS only for the call to drop.
On June 3rd I finally got through and cancelled my trip. By the time I called to cancel my trip I had lost two family members due to Covid and have since lost two more (one as recently as two weeks ago!) I myself suffered from the virus and know how serious getting sick and spreading it is. There was no way I could, in good conscience, keep my trip and possibly spread this disease.
When I cancelled my trip I was told that I had until December 15th, 2021 to use ALL of my $1,825.44 credit. There was no distinction made between the flight portion and the hotel portion of this credit. I also NEVER received an email detailing any of this! All I received was an email stating that my trip had been cancelled.
Last week I called customer support to inquire about booking a trip for April (I'm still not comfortable with traveling however I am pregnant and I will not be able to travel after April since my husband does not have flexibility. I definitely will not be able to travel before December 2021 since I will be giving birth in July!
The customer service rep had informed me that it would probably be best that I wait until about a month before I wanted to travel and I agreed. When I asked her to confirm when my credit would expire she confirmed YET AGAIN that I had until December 15th, 2021 to use ALL of my $1,825.44 credit.
During this phone call I was informed that the credit is actually split into two, until this point I thought I just had almost $2000 worth in generic Cheap Caribbean credit. It wasn't until I inquired about possibly transferring my flight credit back to a JetBlue travel bank to be used for other flights including domestic that she told me that my flights had actually just expired! If this was not obvious without some digging on their customer service reps end how could this at all be obvious to me?
I informed her that there was absolutely no way that my "flight credits" could have expired when I was told I had until December 2021 and I didn't even know that my credit was split into two ($1,117.50 in JetBlue credit and $707.94 in Cheap Caribbean credit). She also informed me that the notes also explicitly state that I had until December 2021 and that there was no distinction made between the flight and hotel credits.
What's more, they expected me to travel during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. My husband works in a jail where the virus is running rampant. How could they expect us to use $1100 in flights before the end of 2020?
I have also spoken with JetBlue and was told that my credit is still held by Cheap Carribean and is in "OK Status" meaning that the ticket is still valued at the price I paid for it ($558.75 pp). JetBlue said that Cheap Caribbean can and should be able to credit me back for my flights. Cheap Caribbean says theres nothing they can do. JetBlue says that this is a lie and they just do not want to credit me back my flights.
I have spent the last several weeks dealing with this and was told that nothing could be done about my problem. I believe that this response is unfair because as I stated above I was given incorrect/ false information by one of their customer service reps.
Not only am I disappointed in a company that I have used for years I am embarrassed because I convinced many other family members to book their trips with Cheap Carribean and they have lost money in one way or another!
Cheap Caribbean, you can fix this! I've always loved booking quick getaways using your company, but expecting my husband and I to use our flights within 6 months (June - December) during a global pandemic is HIGHLY irresponsible and morally reprehensible!

Fraudulent Activity with MY airline tickets
I booked a trip back on September 26, 2019 for a trip for April 12th - April 17th. Due to an illness and Covid I had to cancel my trip which I did with Cheap Carribean in March 2020. I was told I would receive a credit to use until the end of December 2020. I called Jet Blue to use my credit on December 4 (to see family) and was told that Cheap Carribean tranferred my tickets to another family. It was done without my knowledge and my tickets were still vaild (not expired like they claimed) First they told me they expired July 26th (which was not even a full year from when I purchased my tickets) then they took that back and said they expired in September. When I called Jet Blue the rep told me they issue a credit a YEAR from the date the tickets were canceled which was March 2020 so they would have been valid and mine to use until March 2021.
Cheap Caribbean refuse to take any responsibility for this illegal transfer of my tickets and for ruining a family vacation with a credit I could not use in December b/c they purged my tickets. I do not trust this company and I want a REFUND b/c they cannot guarantee me this will not happen again in the future with a "credit" (they do not honor it b/c they take it upon themselves to resell purchased tickets)
If it was possible to leave negative…
If it was possible to leave negative stars I would. My trip was cancelled in early September 2020 including my American Airlines flight. I have been waiting for refund since this time. Cheap Carribbean has terrible customer service and absolutely no follow through. I have called and waited on hold 4 hours, 3 hours, and the minimum wait time 1.5 hours. Each time I’ve called I have been told my refund is coming. Different timeframes each time. In the past 30-45 days I’ve been told my account has been escalated three times. Each time a different window. 6-10 weeks, then 7-10 days, then 48-60 hours, then 12-14 days. Always a different story and different timeframe. If you email, you receive a generic response not answering any questions and are directed to call customer service. If you chat, you’re told it’s escalated and it’s handled through internal email requests. Cheap Carribbean cannot hold money for 4 months on a fully refundable cancellation!!! You can never talk to anyone in escalation department. Also they refuse to provide any information on how to file a formal complaint. #bookelsewhere #cheapcarribbeanisterrible #negativestarreview
