NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS!!!

Just realized I have been billed $29.95 for last nine months (08/2025-04/2026) for a monthly subscription I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR! They said they would credit last four month’s charges but billed me again, instead. I received a cancellation email but no email saying they would credit me. These charges are tied to my debit card. Apparently, bank can’t block a vendor who is billing a debit card because there is no routing number (or something?) but I was able to dispute the charge by calling the bank. Only option available online to dispute the charge is to get a new debit card. I don’t want a new card because I have other legitimate automatic monthly payments on the card. Would be a nightmare to get a new card but I will if it happens again next month.

I had no idea they were taking my money

I had no idea for the last eight months, they had me on a subscription I did not sign up for. I have been unknowingly giving them $40 a month. I have no idea how I never caught this! I am always checking my transactions! I just emailed them to confirm on their end that my subscription is now canceled and no money will be taken out moving forward. I am so shocked and confused. Also angry because I don’t have that money to begin with. Why is 40 whole dollars a month even necessary. I’m so upset.

Total Scam

Accessed this site by accident looking for quick 1 time free credit your entitled to each year by experian. Somehow got signed up for membership didnt realize till saw 39.90 charge to my bank account. The charge is outrageous and I was charged twice. Had to call several times to speak to someone not a AI machine. This company is a total scam. Only positive experience was talking to a live person Desiree to help rectify the situation and hopefully get a refund I am entitled too. Told takes 24 to 48 hrs for answer but that was 2 weeks ago.

Never even heard of this until my bank…

Never even heard of this until my bank called me saying they were trying to charge my card for a $1. The bank gave me the phone number to call and it says it can not identify the account you are calling about. And straight asks for your social. They are trying to get your identity. Scam dont fall for it.

Shame on me for not checking Trustpilot…

Shame on me for not checking Trustpilot FIRST! Yup, this overseas call center scam now has all of my mothers critical PII. The trial window ends today so I called to cancel and sure enough, from the beginning of the call I knew I was in trouble: automated agent that doesn't respond properly, live agent in a room with so much background noise of others on similar calls that I could barely hear her, when stating I want to cancel the account her response was "why do you want to do that?" and when I insisted on cancellation she read the scripted response to promise to try and help me and then faded out the call before disconnecting and immediately blocking my number. Now when I call back I am stuck in an interminable look with the automated agent and can no longer get a live agent. Now to fight with the credit card company...

They advertised credits scores. I got them. Fair enough. But the dishonest way they set you up for automatic membership is not acceptable. They got me for 2 months at 29.95 before I caught the charge. The membership cancelation is not easy to find on the website and requires calling. I called, bot answers during business hours. Why does a bot have to wait till 9 ??? During the call, asking to cancel, the bot offered I keep the memberhsip at a discount for 16 bucks.... then later in the call for 7 bucks. Bot assured me the account is canceled and won't be charged again. We shall see.

Do not use CheckFreeScore!

Do not use CheckFreeScore. In looking at other reviews, this is the way this company does business. They advertise to charge $1 and REFUND that Dollar. There is no Trial mentioned!!! Others have testified to this also!!! Then the person gets a charge on their card for $39!!!! Which is for Credit Monitoring. I didn't see anywhere about the Credit Monitoring Service. All I was interested in was the Free Credit Score!!!! I wasn't looking for anything else. I called up immediately when I seen the charge, actually my cards alert for unauthorized charges alerted me to this charge and I was ouraged.
When I called, it wasn't a LIVE Customer Rep, it is a Robot so you can't explain your situation. It told it I wanted to cancel, and after probing the questions of why I wanted to cancel, it finally canceled for me. Then I said I wanted a refund, then It said that it couldn't because I had AGREED to the Credit Monitoring because I didn't cancel in a week. I DID NOT Agree. I didn't approve anything other than the FREE CREDIT SCORE!

As I said, others have had the same experience.

SCAM

SCAM. They have been charging my bank 39.90/mo for over a year before I questioned what this charge was for. My husband and I are over 70. No debt. Everything we own is paid for and we don’t need any credit, much less a credit check. Neither of us have ever been on the site and have tried repeatedly to contact clickfree to no avail. We have contacted our bank, but they are still trying to debit our account.

Fraudulent

Signed up to check my credit score 1 time for $1 about a week ago. Said it was like refundable or some word they had me under the impression they give u back the dollar afterward. Yet it never happened. Should have known something was wrong right there cuz of its free, why are they asking for a dollar they claim they're giving back..
Next red flag, my credit score was 75points higher then in reality. Woke up today with a fraud notification from my bank, at 250am they tried to charge my account for $39.90!!! Nowhere at all did it say it was a "free" week for a refundable buck and then they'd charge u for anything. Stay away from this company.

This company is a scam. I never signed up for this. They sneak in those stupid boxes when you make a purchase online. Then all of a sudden you have $40 coming out of your account. I have been on hold an hour now. I called the second they opened. This is ridiculous. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!

They fraudulently charged me a recurring monthly fee for their premium service after I cancelled the service and received a cancellation email from them. I cancelled through my account page on the website. Today, when I logged back into the website, my account showed the premium service without an option to cancel. I have submitted a report to the Better Business Bureau.

This is not a trustworthy site at all.

This is not a trustworthy site at all.
We checked my husband's credit score because he wanted to apply for a bank loan. checkfreescore.com provided a score that was 30+ points higher than his real score! He was denied because, when the bank checked, his score was much lower than the score that this site provided. They lie to consumers. Do not trust this site. I would give zero stars if it were possible.
