We found Odyssey Tours via Trip Advisor and we reached out to them via email. Reinself Wei has been our advisor day one. The planning of our trip has been in the works for over 6 months and Mr Wei has been outstanding to work with. Knowing that this is our first trip to China, he made recommendations that would accommodate our interests. He was very helpful in guiding us about our own preparations, such as Visa requirements. And when asked about recommendations about trip insurance, he did not try to sell us insurance but made recommendations that made sense. They are also very flexible, meaning, we wanted to make a change to our itinerary so that we could go to Disneyland in Shanghai, and he quickly took care of that for us.

Our trip is a couple of months away, and we are very excited to meet Mr Wei and take the tour.

our odessey vacation in china was fabulous. tom zhou not only planned everything, including first class hotels, all transportation, and friendly and knowledgeable guides, but he followed our movements and so was able to catch us up on tours after our international flight was delayed. our guides, cici, erik, ellie and flora were great people to share our days with and give us a taste of the chinese culture. thank you so much tom!

Two Week Trip to China
We were fortunate to have a two week trip to China planned first by Maple of Odyssey tours and then implemented by Tom Zhou, both of whom did an exceptional job of communicating with us and making sure we understood all aspects of our trip. Our city guides Jim, Arthur, Lamu, and Catherine, went out of their ways to accommodate our requests and help us enjoy our experience. All aspects of the trip were carefully planned and accurately implemented. From the moment we walked out of the airport and saw the sign with our family name to saying good bye to the drivers and guides as we left each airport, we were cheerfully, kindly, and safely taken care of. I would not hesitate to travel again with Odyssey Tours.

Superb itinerary in China, arranged with Tom (extremely responsive and prepared to answer all our questions) and guided by Serena, Anne, Linda, Fiona, and Shirley all - of them extremely friendly, helpful and skilled. We'ver been catered for (and pampered, honestly) in the best possible way. We highly appreciated their flexibility in meeting our requests and their knowledge of the visited sites, instrumental in turning our trip in a 5 star dream. Thank you!!!

Highly recommended. Don't Visit China on your Own! Tom Zhou set up our tour and made sure everything went smoothly. The guides were all great, and we felt well taken care of.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Karen Yang of China Odyssey Tours to plan a trip to China this fall. She was extremely helpful in terms of planning the itinerary to my liking. Even though we are not going with China Odyssey Tours for this trip, I found Karen to be very professional. At no point in time was I pressured into joining her company. I would definitely consult with her for future trips to China.

My husband, daughter and I went on a fabulous trip to China and we owe this adventure to Andy Xie and China Odyssey Tours. We had never been to the Far East and we're not big travelers. I hadn't flown internationally in over 25 years. I had a month to plan a trip before my other daughter left China. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed, not knowing where to start. I thought I'd meet a travel agent and go from there but that all fall through. Then my husband said try this travel company he found online, China Odyssey Tours. I filled out the questionaire late one night and the next morning Andy became my travel consultant. He sent me a preliminary iteniary and from there we worked together to put this trip together. There was no pressure. He had great recommendations and honored our requests. Our departure date changed 3 times due to family scheduling. While I became frustrated, Andy was my calming infuence.

Beijing was our first stop of a 10 day tour. From there we went to Xian, Guilin and Shanghai. All our guides Henry (Beijing), James (Xian), Robin (Guilin) and Eileen (Shanghai) were friendly, knowledegable, attentive and flexible. Our hotels were beautiful. We saw all the highlights of each city and also had time to explore for ourselves. Everything ran so smoothly. We relaxed, enjoyed and learned. There was no stress. What more can you ask for in a vacation?

I have nothing to compare with, but I would definitely use China Odyssey Tours again and recommend them to anyone who plans a trip to Asia. I feel lucky to have found this company and even luckier to have had Andy as our travel consultant.

My son is studying in China this fall and we decided to travel in China prior to his studies. We booked this trip through China Odyssey Tours. I looked up many tours and was very pleased with the services Odyssey provided. Tom Zhou is our travel consultant and I have wonderful things to say about him. He is always very quick to answer my emails and any request I had, he made sure to help me with. He pays great attention to detail and we are looking very forward to this adventure.

We recently returned from three weeks in China with a highlight the Odyssey 'Best of China' tour. Tom Zhou organised this to fit around our other commitments and we greatly appreciated the flexibility to depart from 'the script'. Accommodation was excellent and travel arrangements worked perfectly. Our guides were top class and particularly Moko in Beijing, Cathy in Xi'an and James in Shanghai were outstanding. Thanks to all for a great trip; we will be back!

After living 6 years in China, my husband and I decided to make one last big trip to Yunnan Province, before we will start a new adventure in Europa. This time we decided to go for a tailor-made tour organized by China Odyssey Tours. My Shanghai friend suggested the tour company because she already made a few well-organized trips with Odyssey in China and Indochina and told me that she was very satisfied with Andy Xie's work.
Our tour was a tailor-made 14-day-tour from Kunming, Dali, Lijiang to Shangri-la, put together by us with the help of Andy Xie. Hotel reservations, plane tickets, tour guides, etc. were all organized by Andy Xie.
On our second day of our Yunnan tour at the "Yunnan Ethnic Minority Village" in Kunming at the exit gate my cellphone was stolen. It was still very quiet at that time of the day in the park. The security cameras had followed me very well throughout the park but their last camera, at exit gate, gave a blurry view so they could see clearly where/how my cellphone was stollen.This was a very sad start of our Yunnan trip but we decided not to influence our tour.
We had 4 wonderful tour guides,3 ladies and one man, all were well prepared and could to tell/show us all lot about the places we have visited.
In my rating I didn't give a 5 starts because we were not very happy with the drivers. De first driver drove very slowly, probably to save gas, and also he needed to use his navigation system all the time. The tour guide had to tell the driver where to go, where to stop. When the first driver drop us off at the airport, he had to come back because there was still some of our stuff in his car. He drove away so fast that we didn't have time to check the car.
Our second driver was not very kind and flexible, if we ask him to stop somewhere to make a picture of something else, he always said that he was not allowed to do by the police and that it will cost him a lot of money if the police catches him.
When we arrived in Dali the tour guide told us that we couldn't cycle around Erhai Lake because the Chinese government had closed the road around the Lake, already last year, for maintenance work. Probably,the local tour company didn't inform Odyssey about this.
Looking back to our Yunnan tour, watching our pictures and videos we can say we had a wonderful trip to Yunnan which was well organized by Andy Xie.
We will for user recommend China Odyssey Tours to our friends, who are looking for a reliable and well organized tour company for China and Indochina.

Tom has provided great and timely service. His suggestions for our first trip to China were great and there as no issues with incorporating some of our suggestions to make the trip truly exciting.

We are keenly anticipating a second trip to China in September, again with China Odyssey who we thoroughly recommend. Our first trip, also organized by Andy Xie, was a fantastic introduction to the wonders of China and Andy's helpfulness and flexibility enabled us to enjoy a holiday highly personalized to our wishes. We felt safe, comfortable, entertained, surprised and excited throughout our trip and have the utmost confidence in China Odyssey and Andy Xie for our more adventurous journey to Sichuan Province and the Tibetan Plateau this time.

14 Day Tour
We have been working with Tom Zhou to build a 14 day itinerary for 4 people. We have found him most efficient and helpful in creating a personalised tour. He was always quick to respond to our queries and requests and he has a good knowledge base for putting together such a tour. We are looking forward to our trip in October.

Andy's attention to detail and customer focused service to us has so far exceeded all our expectations - he has been patient, receptive and most of all very quick to trouble shoot and respond to most of our varied and difficult requests. We just returned from an excellent tour with Odyssey in China. We went with another couple. The tour was 10 days traveling from Beijing to Shanghai with several stops on the way. Our guides were excellent as was the entire organization of the tour. Karen Yang from Odyssey was the mastermind behind this from day one and she did a great job. We along with Karen custom-designed the tour and she was very responsive and came up with a great itinerary. She dealt with all of our concerns before we started the tour. Every step of the way Karen arranged for a guide and driver to meet us at each location, she booked good hotels for us and suggested excellent sights to see. Odyssey took really good care of us. This tour exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend Odyssey and Karen Yang.

We haven't travelled as yet, however Tom Zhou has done an excellent job putting together our itinerary for China and Hong Kong next year. Would definitely recommend him. Fantastic job and great service.
