Absolutely Amazing
I can't recommend Cloisters enough... From the first phone call, to meeting Danielle and then having the kitchen and appliances delivered they have been nothing but professional. I had several meetings with Danielle where many layouts and styles were discussed and designed. I was given a sample of the valchromat door as it wasn't available to see in the showroom and was also sent home with samples of the carcass so I could be sure I was making the right decision. Danielle could see my vision (and my slight OCD of having things matching and symmetrical) and I am so happy with the finished kitchen. I have had so many positive comments and have a kitchen which is unique and fabulous quality and like no other kitchen I have ever seen. It's the perfect space to entertain... Just in time for a festive party, or 2!
I would not hesitate in recommending Danielle and Cloisters to anyone looking for a new kitchen, in fact I've already been busy recommending.

In 2007 we had an extension built which consisted of a kitchen/dinner and utility. We looked around for a kitchen company to help us with design and procurement of the required units and found Cloisters online.
We visited the showroom and from the first time we stepped in the showroom we immediately made to feel welcome. The team in the showroom spent time to look at the plan of the kitchen area and suggested the best solutions. There was no pressure and we were given time to consider the different choices. Once the decision was made the process from then to delivery was simple and straight forward thanks to the approachable staff. As with all construction projects, we had to delay the delivery and this again was agreed without any problems.
The kitchen is still as good today as when it was first built and installed. We had one problem a few weeks ago when a draw front broke and this was taken back by the workshop and repaired, again without any fuzz.
I would use Cloisters again and would recommend them.
Amazing Service!
Amazing Service!
From the initial meeting, right the way through to delivery of my kitchen, Cloisters were superb! At every stage, they were in touch, keeping me informed of how my luxurious, hand-made kitchen was getting on!
Would 100% Recommend!
I love my new kitchen
I love my new kitchen, It's exactly what we wanted. Modern and handleless and Colin and the team were amazing. After talking through the designs we decided to go with a kitchen island making use of the space we had. The family love it!! A perfect place to eat and congregate around.
13 MONTHS ON AND MY KITCHEN IS STILL…
1 month on from review and still no response from cloisters
13 MONTHS ON AND MY KITCHEN IS STILL NOT FINISHED!!
We first visited Cloisters in early 2018 and Colin Nunn was very helpful in designing our new kitchen. I had always wanted pull out larders but Colin talked us out of it as he said they weren’t very strong and that it would be better to have individual pullout drawers and to put 2 shelves at the top, so we went with his advice. We were told that all under worktop deep pan drawers would be made to varying depths so that we maximised all available space.
After an initial hold up with our funds we went ahead and ordered our new kitchen (mid June 2018), including fitting, we paid the 50% deposit and were given the impression that the remaining money would be paid on completion of fitting our kitchen. We verbally agreed that they would fit the kitchen during the 2 weeks we would be away at the end of August.
Before we went away I emailed Colin to check that the starting date was still ok and he replied “that they still had it as their target date”.
Whilst we were away Colin sent us an email with the “Confirmation of Order”, which didn’t even have the right name and address on, and then announced that the remaining money would have to be paid 2 days before they started fitting. Being abroad at that time made things slightly awkward but luckily we had a bank card that we were able to use, and had no other choice but pay the money upfront, which most reputable companies don’t ask you to do, there’s always a percentage that you pay on completion of a satisfactory job.
On returning from our holiday we were expecting a finished kitchen, apart from worktops and appliances which we had sourced from an alternative retailer. But it became apparent from our builders that they hadn’t started on the agreed date. The fitter then came back on odd days fitting a bit more of the kitchen each time. My pullout larders ended up being cupboards with only 2 drawers in and loads of shelves, extra depth pan drawers were all the same size and didn’t maximise all the space, doors were the wrong size so had to wait for them to be remade.
At the end of September Toby came out and made a remedial list and we had no choice but to pay another £383 for more pullout drawers for my larder cupboards.
Early 2019 new extra deep drawers fitted, although the strengthening rails weren’t fitted. Toby came out again Feb 2019 and we agreed on what still needed to be done, I emailed late March and suggested that during the Easter holidays would be a good time to return as I was off for 2 weeks, heard nothing. At the end of May i phoned them and spoke to Jacqueline Nunn who said she would speak to Toby. She emailed and said “Toby was aware of items needing attention and would be in touch when they had someone to pop in” I replied that if he was aware why was i still waiting. Surprise surprise didn’t hear anything from them, emailed one last time mid August and to date (end of Sept 2019) i have still not heard back from them and still have an unfinished kitchen which I paid them to fit.
New units in our kitchen from Cloisters
We have had changes to our kitchen on two separate occasions with Cloisters and have been really pleased both times. Several years ago we had new cupboard doors to update our kitchen and had a few good match to the rest of the kitchen units. The this year we decided to add more kitchen units to the further end of our kitchen.
Joe led us through this process with expertise, and flair designing a fabulous central table ( like a breakfast bar but lower) which we are thrilled with. The fitting all went well, we had a little wait but due to personal reasons with the fitter, but Joe kept in contact with us through it all. We are very happy with our kitchen and would recommend Cloisters to all.
Sleek Modern Kitchen
Colin, Joe and all the team have been very helpful. Firstly in the design stage with some excellent ideas which we adopted.
The quality of the bespoke cupboards are first class, we are really pleased with the total sleek look of our new kitchen. It looks very expensive, but the price quoted was very competitive.
There are still some small outstanding snags to be sorted which are being addressed.
Overall, totally happy with our new kitchen, it has definitely added value to our home.
The worst of the worst
An updated review as clositers have tried to have my original review removed. Which if you notice is a common theme across review sites regarding them as they have no recent positive reviews. Just to state before they reply with their version. I never called them 4-5 times per day and I felt genuinely exasperated by them. We saved hard for our kitchen and the experience was absolutely horrendous and left me in tears on numerous occasions.
Genuinely the most horrific and painful experience of dealing with a company that I’ve ever had to to endure. Cupboards made wrong, doors made incorrectly 3 times, 3 months for new doors to be made, wrong hinges, refusing to measure to fix mistakes, doors hung the wrong way round, demanding I personally deliver faulty doors back to them and the list goes on and on ..... Absolutely horrendous and rude customer service from the delightful co owner Jacqui who I quote ‘knows nothing about kitchens’ and her equally as ill mannered husband Colin who I also quote was ‘sick of hearing about your kitchen’ and constantly referred to me as 'love' despite repeatedly asking him to use my name. If you opt to use cloisters I wish you good luck! You’ll need an infinite amount of patience, time, resilience and the ability to remain calm when being spoken to like dirt by them. And possibly budget left over for PTSD counselling if you ever manage to get the kitchen finished
An update to my review made in February…
An update to my review made in February 2018 (which I also left on Cloisters website but they chose never to actually post it!).
Cloisters try to sell you their AEG products and they give you a 5 year guarantee. We bought all the appliances from them and now regret that decision. Avoid these appliances!! In the last 18 months the dishwasher has broken down twice, the induction hob has had to be replaced (this took 8 weeks) and tomorrow I have an engineer coming again as the washing machine has now broken down. This is in addition to the two faulty ovens that were delivered when the kitchen was fitted (we ended up buying our own Smeg one-no problems with it so far). All of the appliances are only 18 months old. You are definitely going to need the 5 year guarantee (even the AEG kettle that I bought myself stopped working after 20 months). The service I received from Cloisters was mixed re:the breakdowns. They were completely uninterested and unhelpful when the ovens were faulty but Toby from Cloisters was more when the hob broke down in January 2019. I know that Cloisters are not responsible for the quality of the appliances but they are choosing to sell them when the quality isn't great.
I advised my daughter not to use Cloisters when she was getting her kitchen fitted but as she was using her own fitter and not buying AEG appliances she decided to use them. She too had an awful experience. By their own admission Cloisters have been taken to court by customers which speaks volumes. If any potential customer would like to discuss our experience then please ask them for my contact details. They consider that posting one review on this site, one on Trusted Traders and one on their own Facebook page 'a continual on-line vendetta' - surely this is the purpose of these sites (especially when they didn't publish the review I left on their own company site). Please avoid using them-it's not worth the stress.
Exceptional! More than a 'kitchen' company!
I went to Cloisters because they didn’t seem like your typical kitchen showroom and I was right! Their knowledge goes far beyond just kitchens, they were able to help me with all aspects of my build and guide me through the stressful process of renovating my home.
When it came to the final product they didn’t disappoint, the overall quality was outstanding. We did unfortunately have to wait an extra week than they originally planned for the fitting to be completed but it was worth the wait.
Would highly recommend!
Fantastic service. Great kitchen.
Couldn't be happier with our kitchen and the service we received from Cloisters. We renovated our house mid to late 2017 and the delivery was on time with all units and appliances arriving bar one item which we were warned about and was quickly resolved soon after. The overall quality is great but more importantly due to limited space we demanded a very bespoke kitchen design which the in-house design team were able to deliver, this for us added value for money. We would highly recommend Cloisters to anyone looking for a custom kitchen.
Colin and team have been brilliant
Colin and team have been brilliant. Colin has a real flare for design, he understood the look I was going for and came up with something practical and beautiful. They've been friendly and accessible from design to finish, always happy to think through queries with me. No pressure to buy appliances etc through them but they also had some good options at good prices which I went for. They've also been patient when I had delays my end. I highly recommend, I love my kitchen. It was apparent throughout that Colin took as much pride in it as I now do. 👍
Very bad customer service, unclear pricing
I was planning a kitchen with Cloisters based on a design I provided. The original designer I was in contact with left the company and a new designer took on the order. This member of staff was initially helpful but gave me what I found to be an unprofessional level of detail about why the previous designer had left the company. The price the new designer calculated was 25% higher than I was previously quoted for the same kitchen design and he refused to give any explanation of the change other than to say the MD had agreed it, the previous designer was not there to explain himself and, "the price is the price". I didn’t think it was unreasonable to question the price change, especially given that the price was also much higher than the company’s advertising materials and I had been told the first designer had left due to financial irregularities. I would have paid the additional amount if I had been given a sound explanation. The new designer said he would requote me if I confirmed the rest of my order. I provided the information requested but never received a revised quote despite me sending a follow-up e-mail. Overall Cloisters wasted a lot of my time and I would not recommend them.
The company has said in response that they would have negotiated a discount after I had paid a deposit, which is different to what they advised in their final e-mail. I don’t think it is reasonable practice to negotiate prices after a deposit has been paid, especially given the standards the company sign up to as a Which Trusted Trader. Cloisters have also said that I received an extensive amount of free design time. Much of this was a duplicate visit to go over the order due to the change in staff. I also spent an excessive amount of time outside of the design appointment clarifying previous correspondence to save the new designer time.
Fabulous experience
Fabulous experience from a company who can fulfil your kitchen needs. Was so delighted to have found someone who provides everything; high quality units, worktops and appliances. Mike and his helpful team were superb in making our kitchen dream come true. Highly recommend!
I would not hesitate to recommend …
I would not hesitate to recommend Cloisters. Colin took so much time and trouble to ensure that we ended up with a kitchen that we love. He is clearly hugely experienced in the art of kitchen design and as a result he had no problem gauging exactly what we were looking for in our new kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble and he gave excellent advice on every aspect of the kitchen from the layout to the appliances and there is nothing that I would change about the finished product - we love it!
Highly recommend
When we first went to Cloisters Mike was so helpful and friendly, he helped design us a new kitchen (changed the layout etc) and gave us really good recommendations for appliances. We didn't feel rushed at all and there was no pressure to commit straight away. There was so much choice but we settled on pale grey units which are beautiful. Mike was really good at responding quickly to any questions I had or minor alterations we wanted to make and we are really pleased with our kitchen. We would definitely recommend Cloisters to friends and family.
Cloisters Helped us with our Amazing Kitchen
Cloisters (Mike) gave us a kitchen design we are extremely happy with. He provided us with great insights into all of the problems and products required to complete our amazing kitchen.
Any issues we had during our build were quickly addressed and we couldn't fault the support.
We are delighted with our new kitchen
We are delighted with our kitchen from Cloisters Design!
Ours was a challenging space in which to design in all the features and uses we wanted, but all our aspirations have been achieved thanks to the skill of the design they came up with.
We find the quality of all the units and appliances excellent. The NEFF appliances recommended and supplied and fitted by Cloisters are extremely energy efficient and easy to use, making cooking a pleasure instead of a chore. We also love the fittings in the drawers and the corner units which had previously been inaccessible.
The clever design has made all the space useable and readily accessible. Thank you Cloisters for delivering and installing everything efficiently and on time.
We do recommend Cloisters Design Limited to our friends who admire our kitchen.
We were very pleased with the design …
We were very pleased with the design and installation of our kitchen and study. We found Cloisters very easy to deal with and very responsive.
Excellent company
We have now had our kitchen nearly five years but would definitely recommend Cloisters in particular Mike who is a talented designer. We felt we were in safe hands and appreciated the personal, friendly service we received. Still happy with the units, layout and extras in particular the boiler tap!
