Cloisters
Clositers gave me an amazing kitchen design and recommended a brilliant installer, They made choosing a kitchen an enjoyable process even though I had little ones in tow.
Great service (design & installation) - highly recommended
Mike was very approachable and guided us through numerous design options, challenging where appropriate; giving us the confidence that we were dealing with a local company who could work with us to design and build “our” kitchen. Mike recommended Dom (Kiwi Contractors) as the project manager / builder / kitchen installer who was fantastic too, very professional and friendly. Dom worked very closely with Mike to deliver a superb finished result. A post-installation problem was resolved without question by both Mike and Dom, the only issue in the twelve week project. Based on our experience, we have no hesitation in recommending Cloisters Design for a complete kitchen solution
Cloisters - For a Commercial Venture
Cloisters were exceptional. From initial consultation, through the entire design process and onto final specification, pricing and delivery, I could not fault them. Very personal and very professional. We will use them again on our next project.
Grindely Ltd.
Exception Service
Cloisters helped us deal with a really tricky kitchen space,. Coming up with a really innovative design,. It has been delivered immaculately and we are so happy with the results
Incredible Company!
We can't recommend Cloisters Design highly enough! From our initial chance meeting at a trade show to the conclusion of the installation, Mike and the team were absolutely superb. I am an architect, so already had a fair idea what we wanted to do when we first met - or so I thought - but we were still looking for a kitchen design company that could bring something fresh and inspiring to the table in design terms rather than simply regurgitating my own ideas, which had been the norm up until that point. And that's exactly what we got from Mike and the team at Cloisters. Their input in terms of design, materials and lighting was absolutely invaluable, and elevated our initial concept into something very special indeed. We were able to realise a fully bespoke kitchen, including a unique island design tailored exactly to our requirements, at a cost which proved to be little more than we had been quoted by the usual high street retailers for equivalent 'off-the-shelf' versions, and at a fraction of the cost being quoted by independent kitchen companies local to us. Visitors are literally blown away by our new kitchen, and it still makes us smile to ourselves every time we look at it. If you are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring and reliable kitchen design company that genuinely puts client satisfaction and the quality of their work at the forefront of their mission statement, then look no further. Being four hours away in Liverpool did not affect the quality of service we received in any way, and when we did experience some minor problems with the quality and finish of the original oak breakfast bar top supplied by a subcontractor - nothing directly to do with Cloisters themselves, I must add - the continuing level of customer service we received to resolve the problem was second to none. Only once we were happy, was Mike happy, and that says everything you need to know.
BEST SERVICE AND DESIGNER
My husband found Cloisters Design at a home building show. Mike looked after us from day 1. He is simply the only person that did not let us down in the whole house build. He is very knowledgeable and extremely patient with his customers. Since working with Mike, I have already recommended 2 of my friends to go with them, and they are extremely happy with their kitchens too. Thank you Cloisters and Mike for always going above and beyond of what’s expected of you.
Great service and support
I do not often write reviews but cloisters were so helpful during our decision making process. Yes, they were a little more expensive than some of the high street chains but it was worth every penny, particularly with the level of support and direction they gave us whilst we were planning our kitchen. Really could not be happier with the end result.
Stunning Kitchen
We have nearly finished having our house totally renovated (back to brick). We tried a few of the usual well-known hand built kitchen makers but I was not completely comfortable with the designers. My husband had met Colin Nunn more than 25 years ago when Colin worked for Mark Wilkinson and designed a hand built kitchen for a family cottage. I’ve always liked that kitchen’s efficient design and its stood the test of time very well. Thanks to the power of Google, we were able to track down Colin and find that he’s now CEO of the family firm, Cloisters. Cloisters designed and built our large in-frame shaker style kitchen and utility room for us. I’m so glad we found him! Colin is extremely approachable. He was very helpful in liaising with our builder and architect on a difficult, large project. At various times, he had to come on site at short notice to rectify problems caused by other trades (and we’re not local - more than 50 miles away). I always felt that Colin was on my side in the sense that he wanted me to get the best possible result rather than just persuade me down the easy path. In my experience he is very good at listening to what the client wants but if he thinks that something will not work, he offers alternatives, highlighting pros and cons. In the end though, he left the final decision to us, rather than imposing what he thinks will work. It is not a fast process but we’ve learnt that is true about renovation in general and Colin was good at keeping us informed on the timing. Once they’d finished the kitchen and utility room, they moved on to building bathroom furniture for our master bathroom and guest bathroom (very happy with that too) and we’re about to take delivery of our dressing room wardrobes. So yes, we recommend him/Cloisters
Kitchen rebuild Autumn 2016
Having impressed us with a superlative design Mike Bolton proceeded to support us with all aspects of the procurement, build and any questions we had throughout the project. We're thrilled with the end result.
An excellent choice for Kitchens, helpful, flexible and most of all, friendly.
From the very beginning, Cloisters have been everything we could have wished for in a company from our initial visits, through the planning, and helping us get through and resolve problems (Not of their making, I hasten to add) in what for us has been a major makeover of a 4 bed semie into an open plan modern family oriented space downstairs. From the beginning, Mike, and the rest of the team, has been there to advise us on what would work, and suggest possible alternatives where we weren't sure or from experience he knew something wouldn't work. They have proved to be flexible and willing to help in any way they can and my wife and I would have no hesitation in using his company again or in recommending Cloisters Design to others. We have a kitchen now that is spacious, modern, and has become a focal point for the family exceeding all our hoped for expectations. Thank you.
Top Class Service
3 years ago, we did a massive refurb on our house this included a completely new enlarged kitchen too, I visited a few kitchen places some that had been recommended & some that had not, Cloisters was 1 that had not been recommended.
Straight away I was put at ease and listened to with my ideas etc, over the space of a few weeks, these were then put onto plans so I could see what my kitchen space might look like.
After several tweaks & deciding on colours, finish & worktops etc, I had to make a decision on 2 very similar priced kitchens from 2 companies, 1 recommended & the other not, the other kitchen was a German kitchen & lots of people said "you won't go wrong with a German kitchen!", but my heart and head were telling me to go British.
British it was, I decided to go with Cloisters and they did not disappoint or let me down at any time throughout the planning, installing or aftersales process. My original designer left half way through my project but there was a seamless take over by Mike and no problem was ever too big or too small. Infact there were issues with a few doors on instalation but I never knew about it until it was all sorted, the fitter took it all in hand & I never needed to get stressed, that was the benefit of a British kitchen, no need to wait 2 weeks for replacements to be shipped from abroad.
I went against everything that people tell you - always go on recommendations... but I put my trust in a company that had not been recommended, two & a half years later I still love my kitchen that Cloisters created for me & if I was in the market for another new high-end kitchen Cloisters would be my 1st & only port of call.
If you are looking at this review you are obviously considering a Cloisters kitchen - just do it... I did & I never regretted it for a single minute.
Still looking good
Five years later and our kitchen is still looking good! Really pleased with the design and workmanship and thankfully no issues to report! The best thing? The Inksinerator hot/cold water tap - couldn't live without it now!
Stunning kitchen! But worth investing in their Project Management
Mike designed us a beautiful kitchen. He listened patiently to how we would use the kitchen and what was missing from our current kitchen. He advised that I bring a short video of our current kitchen so he could get a feel of the space and layout. The design we agreed on is stunning! I love both the solid, quality feel of the cabinets and Mike suggested some great use of design features to create a truly stunning kitchen.
I had a very specific design in mind for the island and although Cloisters had not done it before, they spent the time to design and build a truly bespoke island which we love!
The only tiny negative point I would add is that it would be worth paying extra to get them to both fit and project manage the kitchen. We used a generic builder meaning I personally had to make several phone calls to Cloisters about missing items, or fitting queries. It would have been a far less stressful experience if we had paid them to manage it all.
Overall, we're really pleased with our kitchen and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.
Great design, product, price and customer service
We recently purchased our kitchen from Cloisters and found them from the very start of the design process through to the delivery of the units to be an excellent company to deal with.
New kitchen
Cloisters were fantastic. I was recommended by my sister who had also used them and was very pleased. We dealt with Mike who from the get go was energetic, enthusiastic and keen to know what ideas we had. He was then able to transform those ideas into an amazing kitchen that fits with our Scandi house within our budget.
What was particularly helpful was thinking about all the small details that make a kitchen that you wouldn't have considered yourself.
Highly recommend Cloisters.
So flexible - pick every element of your kitchen to get exactly what you're looking for.
I'm in the process of buying my second kitchen from Cloisters. The ability to pick and choose every element of a kitchen, together with the brilliant vision and design of the Cloisters team, at a variety of price points led me straight back to Cloisters when moving house and needing a new kitchen.
New Kitchen in St Albans!
My home had a recent extension & modernisation. Subsequently we built a large kitchen diner at the back of the property.
I chose Cloisters Desigb purely on the designer Mike Bolton who we thought was fantastic. He listened to our requests, planned our kitchen taking on board our views & installed it on the agreed date. It was then sanded down & hand painted and we love it,
We can highly recommend this company & in fact are thinking of buying some more units quite soon.
Excellent bespoke service from design to fitting
They worked with me to design and fit some bespoke furniture for my hall. I was a bit surprised by the high cost, but the fitted cupboards and shelves have completely fulfilled my expectations. So I expect you get what you pay for!
A superb friendly service
Cloisters were extremely helpful in helping us choose the design for our new kitchen. The quality products they supplied exceeded our expectations. A great service.
