Disgusted at their sharp practices - I would advise against!!
Was sent a request letter from these to get a quotation for a touring caravan Insurance Policy - if they can't beat my renewal, for a like-for-like Policy, they will give me a voucher for 2 nights caravanning at a CCC Site.
I've had quotations from Club Care before and they have always been way too expensive for a poorer Policy, but, I thought, give it a go .... 2 nights camping on offer if they fail again.
First quotation was online, and, as expected, they were silly expensive for a poorer policy - so I contacted them and asked for my 2 free nights camping voucher - as promised.
We need to go through it manually on the phone again (obviously to do some underwriting tricks) - OK I said, and went through it all again .... matching as far as I could my renewal policy quotation, they asked how much my renewal was - I said that I will tell you when you come back with your best price ..... off they went, came back with £220.
As I thought I said, my renewal is £146 with my current Insurer - for a superior Policy, with additional benefits. So I will take the 2 free night voucher you promised me. I'll send in my renewal so that you can confirm my claim.
Hold on they said and went away, came back, we can make it £139 now!!! What??? £220 to £139 in 3 minutes?? Some underwriting playing has taken place - and my renewal Policy is superior anyway - so, I have complied by my end of the offer you made, I am due the 2 free night voucher.
No, they said, we have beaten you renewal by £7 so you don't get the voucher - WHAT? But my Policy is superior - they are not comparable - that doesn't matter they said ............... but it does your way if my Policy wasn't as good????
That's rather unethical and a terrible way to treat people don't you think??
I am shocked and disappointed that the CCC whom I have been a member for over 30 years have anything to do with these shady practices.
Be aware, if they treat you like this when they want your business how will they treat you when/if you need to make a claim.
Disgraceful way to treat people!!! AVOID!!!!!
Waste of a phone call
They are a sister company with shield insurance rang to see if I can get a cheaper quote as last year I paid around £250 and this year it doubled, I’ve had no claims and only use a few times a year so will also be giving them a bad review anyway they dropped it about £100 , after removing basically all other costs they always seem to be down for maintenance and took 5 calls to even get a quote I’m very disappointed and will now be selling my tentbox as it’s put it out of my price range it’s actually more expensive then my car to insure
Club Care House Insurance- Don’t bother
Tried to get a quote for house insurance with 90 days unoccupied included ( Club Care advertise 180 days) . Called, waited and transferred several times. Answered by a lady in a Bristol office of Howdens(?). No knowledge of CCC or Club Care. Tried again and ended up in another office of Howdens answered by a gentleman who looked up Club Care on Google and transferred me to the number on the screen!! Been there! Tried a third time and a lovely lady who assured me that she worked for club care. Checked before transferring me to ….Howdens, who apparently have taken over club care. Details for quote taken and responded later in the day to say they were struggling to get a decent quote in the range needed. Apparently 90 days is the issue!!! Would call back with quotes. A week ago and nothing heard! What is happening? Should be called Club Care Less. Glad they are not managing the bookings for a great club.
Club care that dont care
Whyvdoes the caravan and campimg club emdorse this useless company
Im suprised they have any customers as they dont answer the phone or return calls
Avoid! Horrendous experience following no fault claim
Avoid avoid avoid. I am having the absolute worst experience in dealing with this company and their underwriters and loss adjusters.(You have to deal with 3 companies, good luck!) Every step of the process has been difficult and unreasonable. They wrote my caravan off over a month ago, claim not settled and they are being awkward about insuring a new caravan as I still have a claim. Never ever have I ever had an experience like this. I would not reinsure with them had my year not started on 9 July so I'm stuck.
Good for a year then 100percent raise…
Good for a year then 100percent raise with no claim, no explanation why. Offered discount if I put campervan in specialised storage and don't use it. What a load of nonsense
CHECK YOUR WINDSCREEN COVER
With an apparent endorsement from the Camping and Caravanning Club by way of joint logos on their letterheads; I believed on their association as being reliable for members.....not so.
Club Care Insurance are 'non advisory only' meaning that they quote the cheapest not the one with the best cover.
Result.....Windscreen Limit £600 , actual cost £2500.00.
Neither of these Organisations accept any responsbility and I feel
1. Misrepresentation as reliable partnership
2. Knowingly undersold cover to ensure purchase.
Insured with them for over 20 years
Insured with them for over 20 years. Lost our caravan due to a flood at our home. Found out they do not and never have covered for flood. Also prices very expensive. Got another caravan now through insurance on our home. Gone to Ripe insurance who do cover for flood and less than half the price of club care.
Astronomical renewal price!
We have been with Club Care insurance for four years with no claims. I had not intended to change insurance companies but the renewal cost this year with Club-Care was astronomical with no reason for it. Not only that, I saw they had added on, incorrectly, that I had taken an advanced manoeuvrability course. This was definitely not on my policy last year and if I hadn’t have noticed would have caused a huge problem if I had made a claim. The person on the phone apologised for the error and said it was a human inputting accident on their part. Although it added more insult as it put the renewal insurance quote up by a further £100! Now, after lots of caravan insurance quote searching I have moved to Saga insurance (I’m just over 50years!). I really hope the experience will be better!
Club need to ditch it's insurance…
Club need to ditch it's insurance company fast as reputation of club is at risk.
The current insurance company is not fit for purpose.
Avoid insuring your caravan at all costs via club care until a reliable insurance service is provided.
After 30 years of parking my caravans on my driveway with no probles i recently had a forced entry to my caravan and had items of upholstery stolen
I have never made any insurance claim before.
My security consistss of a locking post concreated into the ground attaching my caravan hitch lock, a Alko Chassis wheel clamp, a drive way post, Security Cameras.
Informed by insurance company through club care no longer willing to insure my caravan whilst parked upon drive way of my property due to claim.!!! Club members who use club care insurance and park their caravans upon the home property beware you will be unable to re insure your caravan after a claim upon your driveway upon renewal.
Also be aware that upon seeking an insurance policy from an alternative company you will have been refused insurance and will have to declare the refusal. If you can find any company willing to take the risk of insuring you as a client; I would estimate that a high number of club members park their caravans upon their driveway and after making a claim there is a a reasonable likelihood that you will not be able to renew your policy with club care.
I will be seeking legal advice on this matter soon.
Do not insure your caravan with Club Care because you will not be covered
We were sold an insurance policy by this company and then when we needed to make a claim as our caravan was stolen were told sorry we aren't paying you out because we should never have insured you in the first place they were happy to take the premium from us!
They stated that we had incorrect wheel and hitch lock fitted and not from their approved list (which doesn’t exist) Just an excuse to get out of paying when you haven’t paid them much money! We had only paid 1 years premium
They are recommended by the Camping and caravan club so you would expect better service but please do not use them as you will think you are covered when actually you are not and they can get away with it!
They are as bad as the thieves that stole our caravan
Massive Unjustified Premium Rise.
After 13 years being with Camping Club insurance with no claims, also a Camping Club member for 16 years, this year premium for my campervan has gone up from £235 to £685.
No logical justification for such a massive rise. When asked why the rise I felt I was being fobbed off with "it's because of your age and not a new policy".
Reading reviews I can see I am not the only one to experience this premium rise.
Are the Camping and Caravanning Club intentionally try trying to get rid of campervan insurance? They have definitely lost my insurance.
As a club member thought I would give…
As a club member thought I would give them a try for my Motorhome insurance….what a shock over £1000
That’s double what my existing insurer were asking for.
Utter rip off that’s left me very disappointed indeed.
Twice Bitten......
At last year's renewal, after agreeing a figure, Club Care took an extra amount which, luckily, I spotted and was eventually able to get refunded. This year when I called to renew I was told the 'system' had made a massive mistake and the renewal would cost me £250 + more than they had asked for in the renewal document. I decided not to make what I considered to be a massive mistake of my own and went to another company not administered by Kingfisher. Reading other reviews I'm surprised the Camping and Caravan Club want to be associated with this company let alone promote them!
Only positive in the whole experience was that "Raiesa" who I spoke to regarding the renewal kept her promise to ring me back, so well done to her for that.
Great - until HUGE rise this year
Used them for a few years, had a break-in 2 years ago and they sorted it out - although their idea of 'wear and tear' certainly reduces your payout!
This year, WOW, huge increase. Went with Happy Place, lots more cover, new for old rather than market value (minus whetever Clubcare think they can take off), everything we wanted and still way cheaper than Clubcare. Have seen Clubcare reviews plummet.
AVOID AVOID
Have been with this shower for several years and never made a claim. This year my renewal was 40 percent dearer making them more expensive than companies like Safeguard.
Rip off after a claim.
Had a quote to renew my caravan insurance. When checking the paperwork it did not mention a claim we had some months earlier although they had been notified, for just over £1000. Once it was added the quote went up by £257. Don’t buy insurance through Clubcare or it could cost you a fortune if you ever have to make a claim.
AVOID THIS COMPANY
SCAMMERS - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - I PURCHASED A POLICY AND SOLD THE MOTORHOME AFTER 6 WEEKS AND THESE SCAMMERS CHARGED £141 TO CANCEL AND THEN DAMAGED MY CREDIT FILE ** AVOID AVOID AVOID **
Use a different provider
Took out an insurance policy and was not provided with all the documentation. When I questioned Kingfisher insurance they were very unhelpful. I was very disappointed with the service I have received.
Paid for the policy
Paid for the policy, twice asked for the written documents....still no joy 8 months on. If they cant be trusted for this simple task...glad Iam not making a claim.
