Disappointed with aftersales service
Recently purchased a motorhome from Clearway. We're complete noobs when it comes to motorhomes but our experience with Clearway pre-sales was pleasant enough.
Agreed a purchase and picked up three/four weeks later.
Once we had the motorhome there were a few problems unfortunately. We had to do a good deep clean as this had not been undertaken - no problem. I noticed a coolant leak in the footwell which I identified as a heater matrix issue. A few emails back and forth and Clearway agreed to fix under warranty.
Not ideal but so far so good I guess.
Once we decided to actually use the motorhome we experienced more problems, we had a drainage leak. Clearway took the home (a pain as we had to travel quite a long way) and after a week decided they could not fix it - told me to go to somewhere local. I did and they fixed it. Contacted Clearway multiple times with the cost and no response.
Unfortunately based on this experience I lost all faith in the service, MOT, and habitation check that was alledgedly carried out. I've since had a full service - the air filter had not been changed, leak from the sump, tire pressures had not been checked and garage was too polite to comment on oil filter, etc.
Sockets and gas hob failure not picked up in habitation check as well as the afore mentioned leaking drainage.
I think that service and habitation is simply signed off on the hope that nothing will crop up.
I advise caution on dealing with this company, know what you're doing.

A delight to purchase from
My husband and i recently purchased our second Motor-home from here. We part exchanged our previous vehicle which was super easy and a pleasant experience. We were thrilled with our new purchase, moving onto a newer model and a fixed bed, it ticked all our boxes. Purchase and handover was thoroughly detailed so we were up to speed with the new vehicle. We did however encounter one small problem afterwards to which Clearway managed rectified and solved all with in less then one week and we now have her back ready to hit the road again. Thank you for our new Motor-home and we hope someone enjoys our previous one. Its worth visiting this company for your next purchase.

If you don't want to be taken advantage of, keep clear!
As beginners to motorhomes, we were definitely taken advantage of. We fell in love with the motorhome, and therefore didn't check the vehicle as well as we should have. The tyres were all too old and some had bulges as well as signs of perishing and when we had them changed they also turned out to be van tyres and not motorhome tyres.
There were some catches and hinges that we did spot and Haden promised that he would order replacements for when we collected the vehicle, which conveniently had not arrived when we did pick it up and he again promised to send them on. Five months later they still have not arrived and we have not had a reply to our email, we know the email works as we used it whilst paying for the vehicle.
We did expect wear and tear on a 15 year old vehicle but we also expected the habitation check to cover items like the windows, one handle was broken but only if you tried to open it. Also one of the roof skylights flyscreen/blind was broken.
When we collected the vehicle there were warning lights on the dash which Haden asked us to take it to a Mercedes garage and have a diagnostics done and depending on the results it should be covered by the warranty, however it turned out that the diagnostics tool wouldn't work on it and old fashioned man hours discovered that it was due to the fitting of the alarm after manufacture and there was a starting procedure which Haden had not known/past on, which as it is his trade, was very disappointing. The cleaning was only superficial, the roof wasn't touched and the shower door wasn't fastened back so after we collected the van there was an almighty crash inside and the bathroom mirror had fallen off, luckily it didn't break but finding replacement fittings was very difficult.
Consequently we will not ever use or recommend this company and are looking at going to trading standards.

Clearway Motorhomes is acting illegally …
Clearway Motorhomes is acting illegally and does not conform to the distance selling regulations. They will keep your deposit, within 24 hours, even if you have not seen the vehicle yourself. They will not tell you this when placing the deposit.
The van I was interested in had rusted through the cab door surround, had rust issues around the windscreen, and had scruffy black mastic surrounding the entire main window - a complete bodge job, none of which was disclosed in the description.
Haiden took my deposit over the phone and has kept £500 despite the law stating there is a 14 day cooling off period. I had cancelled within just 12 hours.
Untrustworthy - avoid.
I have now bought a Medallion with half the mileage and in far better condition from another dealer ... for less money!
