This is just about the worst insurance…

This is just about the worst insurance company in the entire UK.I was insured with them for quite a few years, Car and House and contents insurance, Wow I didnt think they could get worse. But Oh yes they did. My Car insurance went up by an excessive amounted. Tried talking to them but it was a total waste of time. So I went elsewhere. Got a better quote and more into the bargain. House insurance???? Yes thats right, all question marks , `Cos they just dont know what they are doing. Had water ingress. causing damage. COOP sent out a surveyor??? Yes questionable I assure you. We told him where the water was getting in. But he new better. It was actually coming in from the roof!! But he diagnosed it as, Wait for it! RISING DAMP!! can you believe this measure of sheer incompetence?? Eventually I got a contractor in to do the job. And yes it was the roof. Completed and no more ingress of water. Success, But not for the coop. I had to fight them tooth and nail to get any pay-out whatsoever. Needless to say I shall be changing me House and contents to another company when it come up for renewal in June this year. Loyalty doesnt mean a thing to the COOP. Doesnt matter how long you have been with them, They still try and rip you off. I have been with them for a minimum of 25 years. and they treat you with contempt. My advice?? Shop around.! There is no such thing today as Loyalty. Just get the best deal that suits you for the money. It cant be any worse than the COOP. David Collins.

This insurance company are very…

This insurance company are very dishonest, they just go into your account and collect any amount of money they want without informing you. There's always a hidden payment and you only get to know about it once they've collected your money. I'm very disappointed and angry about the fact that they just want into my account and collect my money for no reason 😡😡😡

Co-op Insurance sellout

Just had letter from Co-op Insurance telling me about their exit from Co-op Group, renaming to Soteria Insurance Ltd and claims handling being outsourced to Markerstudy. Given the horrendous reviews of Markerstudy on Trustpilot (89% bad) I'll be moving household insurance elsewhere at renewal.

Very Poor Car Insurance Cover - No liability policy

Do not waste your money buying a car insurance policy with the co-op, it will probably be not worth the paper it is printed on. I had a incident where I hit an object on the motorway, which damaged my car and I lost oil.
My resulting claim, for relatively minimal repair costs, was a farce from the onset. The Co-op delays, mis-communication, passing onto independent assessors and refusal to see that the incident (as reported) was the cause was futile. Their inability think logically resulted in my claim being rejected after a great deal of unnessesary delays, incorrect statements in letters & phonecalls. Needless to say, I will never use this company again and urge other potential customers not to do so. If you want to pay for insurance that will cover you for an accident and not make you feel like a fraudster if you ever need to claim - use a better insurer with more sympathetic assessors. I've now got to go to the ombudsman - which will probably be another futile step.

Missed multiple appointments to fit a black

- tried to charge me for there own mistakes
- damaged my car fitting the black box
- so many hidden charges
- black box data completely off sync
- tried to charge £90 to remove the black box

And they still haven’t fixed my car after damaging it 10 months ago when they fitted the black box

Avoid at all cost, pay a little more and go somewhere else

AWFUL COMPANY!!

AWFUL COMPANY!!!
I regret not reading these reviews before I took out my policy. The policy started the lowest and for my first 2 90 day period the price came down which was nice. After having my last review they have increased the cost by £57 a month that is £228 before my policy ends. My overall score is 85 but according to the dashboard my cornering is at a score of 14!!! Everything else is 90 or above so this makes no sense. Also looking through the figures of different weeks and days I have been in the green pretty much all days that I have driven. My cornering score is that low because I haven’t been driving due to working from home during lockdown. They say this isn’t true but how can my policy suddenly be coming down when I’m barely driving and when I am my scores are pretty much all green. I can’t help but think this has happened now because my policy is ending in 3 months. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THERE IS AN AVERAGE SCORE OF 1.4 STARS FOR A REASON!!!!!

They aren't in a hurry to settle claims

I am currently trying to make a claim from this company after another car pulled out in front of me . Sadly the other party is insured with co operative insurance and after 2 weeks they still haven't sorted out what's happening with my car. The damage is over £9000 and although it's clear that the car will be a total loss they still haven't bothered to respond to my insurance company. Still no money to replace my car seats but thankfully my insurance has supplied us with a courtesy car to keep us on the road , which they will have to pay for not me. I would urge anyone not to use this company from a third parties perspective. They demonstrate of lack of urgency when it comes to settling claims, which isn't fair for anyone like myself who will probably have to sit and wait months to resolve a simple straightforward claim. Update, so far it's now 4 weeks after the accident and still not sorted. No money to purchase a new car and the loan car has been returned as they wouldn't pay for it after my car was confirmed a total loss.

AVOID AT ANY COST

Try to avoid this insurance company at any cost you might find cheap quote but remember there are many charges on blackbox. Terrible legal support team during claim.
Terrible insurance company. After purchasing the insurance they start charging you money. in my first review my blackbox score went from 82 to 81 and i had to pay £35 after 3 months of purchasing the insurance. So, even if you drive slow and within limit and you have to brake hard because someone else pulls up you will end up getting charged.
Once i was 2 min late because i coudn't find parking on my street and there is a curfew so you cant drive after 11pm. due to 2 min they took -10 from my score.
For my new job i have to travel through motorway. I have notice since i started driving more on motorway the blackbox scores are freeze instead of going up they go down. When you start building speed to join motorway the blackbox decreases your accelaration and braking scores if you build speed quickly.
I had insurace policy with them last year and there was an accident in which the third party pulled out from giveway without checking. I notified and told the company, after one month the case was passed to legal support because third party changed their statement and made medical claim after month. on the day of incident i told the insurance company there is camera on junction which would have recorded everything but they didn't do anything. Their legal support team didn't do anything as well. Instead of getting some proof they threated me, if i wish to continue with the claim than the third party will take legal action against me and i will have to go on court dates. I told them they are the one at the fault how can they take legal action against me when i didn't do anything wrong or broke any rules.
So, 10 months after the accident the claim is closed with 50/50 settlement. The incident happen on my last policy with coop in which i had 1 ncb. after the settlement i lost that ncb and i was charged £616 because i lost the ncb. later when called them i found that i will not get ncb for this policy as well. I asked told them the incident took place on previous policy the insurance company didn't settle claim within my previous policy and now in my second year with them they settle the claim so i lost the 1 ncb that i has last year which is reasonable but i will not get any ncb for this year even if there is no claim against me. so, i will loose my 2nd ncb as well which i was suppose to get in June 2021.

Loyal customers treated badly

Loyal customers treated badly, had 2 years no claims drove safely and my policy was increased by £200 from the previous year. Have changed my policy to admiral and have saved £500. Absolute joke, so much for being good car insurance for young drivers. outrageous

False promises

Claimed on home insurance for broken down oil boiler. Initially authorised by staff who arranged for company to prioritise call out. Company did phone only to say my policy would not cover oil fired boilers-told to recontact Co-op who after over an hour trying to get through to a department, failed to answer my call. Emergency cover included in the policy yet this made no difference. Had to arrange emergency call out to sort problem that should have been easily dealt with by the Co-op.
Will never use this shower for future insurance policies

Terrible company

Terrible company. Had a minor issue that we needed fixing (the washing machine leaked through the floor!) Seemed a simple fix, had proof of what happened, surveyor reports etc. and the company took forever, they have dozens of outsourced people you need to deal with and nothing moves forward. When they do offer something, it's just not enough (they wanted to leave black mould...? in a pandemic...) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Great Customer Service

Never had to make a claim (touch wood) as of yet, but Phoebe (Canadian Lady, I think that’s her name) was super super nice and helpful when helping me renew my year’s insurance. She was very polite, explained everything very clearly. She even enquired about a cheaper price with her manager but to no avail, even so, this is by far the cheapest insurance I could find personally. She walked me thru each step and confirmed everything back to me. I am a Quality Coach for a Customer Care team of a well known fashion retailer, and I wish she could come and do a masterclass on customer care with my advisors! Thank you Phoebie!

After nearly 5 months of lockdown my daughters premium is still high even though she has hardly driven. When we received her last review in queried this and was told that give it time and it should change. No, liars. The premium for her insurance is still sky high even though her black box recorded zero driving in the first few months of lockdown and very minimum driving as things eased. I reckon the uniform for Coop insurance must consist of a face mask and stripey jumpers because they are robbing bastarts!!

Never deal direct with them if you are the third party

My car was hit by a driver insured by them. It’s taken several months to get to the stage where I now have an appointment for the car to go for repair despite their insured accepting liability the same day as I contacted them, so it’s lucky the damage is quite light and the is car still drivable and safe to use. It apparently has to be taken 2 counties away to Swansea for a week during which time my large sized 5 door estate car will be substituted by a tiny 3 door hatchback no good for someone of my height who has a spinal issue. I don’t see why I should have to pay to upgrade a hire car that I need because of the carelessness of one of their insured.

NEVER try to simplify the claim by going direct to them. Claim through your own insurers especially if you have like for like curtesy car cover as I have. Seeing as they seem to cut corners wherever possible, I will be inspecting my car when it is eventually returned for the quality and extent of repair and checking the mileage very carefully.

*edit to add* My car is now back from their repairers, the bumper wasn’t changed and doesnt sit as flush with the wing as it should, the paint colour is noticeably different - just not enough grey - the paint is badly finished in the numberplate recess, they didn’t repair the 2 small scratch marks below the headlamp where the bumper obviously rode up the wing in the impact, they charged the insurers for a new front numberplate but refitted the existing cracked plate, oh and the slightly twisted bonnet with the small crease in it remains on the car. So in effect they had the car for seven days to paint and refit a bumper and change the chrome grille surround. I can’t tell you how unimpressed I am at having to fight them over the poor quality of work and the incomplete repair.

Update: I did finally manage to get the work done to my satisfaction. I had a visit from one of the managers from IRG (Co-Op insurance repair contractors) he inspected the car, agreed the repair wasn’t acceptable and arranged for the car to be taken to their Whitland branch, supplying me with a brand new Fiesta to use. My car was returned a few days later with all the issues resolved.

Hopeless

Hopeless. Avoid these people at all costs.
We raised a claim on our Gold policy for a curtailed trip due to COVID 19 lockdown.
They claim 30 days to review and settle claims. After we chased it on the last day, they asked for further information to support our claim saying we had not sent the required information.

We rang up and explained them to look in the spreadsheet we had originally sent which contained all the required information. They agreed they had just not bothered to look at it.
We then asked not to go to the bottom of the pile again but up until now 2.5 months later have received nothing about our claim.
We have raised a complaint but of course it is at least 8 weeks before we will get a reply.
We have rung up several times and are promised someone will ring us back but that has never happened.
Disgraceful.
