Spam Mail company from UK ignoring Data Privacy - shocking

This company present themselves as a serious publishing company in the UK. They make money by sending spam mails. Just like many others. Just that this one is criminal, totally ignores Data Privacy and makes it impossible to unsubscribe from their daily spam mail called National Health Executive (NationalHealthExecutive at cognitivepublishing.co.uk):

1. I clicked the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails 8 times. Every time I was told it was successful. But I still keep getting their spam.

2. I responded to their emails asking to be unsubscribed 5 times. This has been ignored.

3. I called up the company 5 times asking to be called back by the Data Privacy Officer Roy Rowlands (junior - his father is the CEO). He never returned my call. When calling the 6th time I was finally was put through to him. I wish I hadn't been. Roy Rowlands junior did not want to listen, did not apologise, kept on speaking over me and interrupting me and was simply rude and unprofessional. He justified the spam email with the legal concept of 'legitimate interest'. I asked for a written statement where he sees any legitimate interest
as well as where they got my data from. He promised the above but never delivered (over 4 weeks have passed).

4. I received an email from one of their staff members confirming that my data had been deleted and that I wont receive any more emails.

5. I wrote a long email to the CEO Roy Rowlands senior (maybe daddy can sort his son out). No success. Just a long email from junior even though I explicitly asked not to be contacted again by this rude person.

6. Even after all of this I am still receiving regular spam emails from this company. Indeed hard to believe but true.

If you have experienced the same thing then you can make a complaint to the UK regulator ICO on their website:
ico.org.uk /make-a-complaint/data-protection-complaints/personal-information-complaint/

They will punish them especially if there are more and more complaints. Of course you can also take personal legal action.
