Fantastic company and service. I had an insurance claim for a damaged screen and as my TV was 75” I had to get an Inspection arranged myself (with an Inspection Report provided for the insurers). I contacted Consumonics and they just brilliant. There were a few calls, I had various questions - always they were polite and really helpful. The guy whom came to see my TV (I forget his name, but he was from / born in Ecuador) - such a nice friendly guy, very helpful. Same as the person on the phone whom I spoke to a few times afterwards too, when I needed some advice. I was also seen within 3 days. Report provided within 48hrs. Brilliant.
Just a great service all round - 100% recommended !!
The team were quick to respond to our request to assess our TV. No hassles and good service. Recommended.
My 6-7 years old TV showed black screen so I contacted this company to get repairing service. It was my big mistake to chose this place. I was considering to buy a new TV as it's old but my husband wanted to check the price of repairing.
When we called them, they said it sounded like "backlight issue". If it's backlight, it's easy to fix. They also said they couldn't say the price before checking the TV. Because it can be another issue. But if it's backlight, it will be covered with initial price (£110) otherwise it can be charged more. I wanted to make sure about the price because new 55" LG TV is about £450. If it's more than £110, buying a new TV would be better option I thought. So we called them several times to see the price range with the backlight issue. When I researched it, I could see the same issue as mine.
In the end I did the process with them because I believed it will be backlight and will be covered with £110 as the guy advised me like that. However they said I have to pay £193 more. Total price is £303 for replacement backlight. Now they said this is not a simple thing. For the labor £115 and the parts £188.
And they claimed that the guy maybe just gave me an example. How could he gave me that example while he said backlight issue? So he guessed correct issue but didn't know if it's simple fix job or not? it's almost 3 times price then he guessed.
So I called some repair stores to check the price to replace it, and they said it depends on the model but MAXIMUM price will be £200 for 55" Samsung TV. Also inspection fee is only about £35. I had to check and compare this before doing this process with them. I shouldn't have believed their website and google reviews.
Now I'm thinking this is all my fault. I was so idiot because I didn't check and compare to others. But at least, I learnt something with £110. Hope others could keep their £110 or more. What's different as scammers they are? Thank you for your amazing service.
