Introduced via the estate agents I was buying from, and prices were more or less the same as another firm I priced. I was assigned Tom McLaren-Robert’s. Hands-down, one of the most supportive and professional people I’ve worked with on any of my previous two purchases. All sorts of issues on the purchase-chain, with dreadful estate agents providing misleading timelines and false information as to the delays in dates. Very transparent when asked, and always forthcoming and very sympathetic. Would request using his services specifically in the future. 10/10.

I used CDL to sell my property.
The solicitor that acted on my behalf was Dominique Farauanu.
Well what can I say !
Dominique was the ultimate professional, she was always responsive to emails and available for telephone calls. I found her to be very knowledgeable and she explained every process in detail. Dominique was great at getting things done and had an excellent attitude throughout a very long winded sales process. I cannot praise her enough, from her caring and understanding professionalism she was outstanding. If you are in need of a conveyancer then look no further.
Dominique is a credit to her profession and I would not hesitate in using her again. 5 stars from me !!

I was introduced to this firm via my estate agents and rushed into paying the upfront fee. After speaking to my partner, we decided to cancel the contract as we had a 14 Day cool down period and also searches had begun. I was entitled a refund in the money I had paid and was informed that I would receive this in 28 days. Unfortunately this was two months ago and I’m still out of pocket by £400.00. Disgusting service, misleading and dishonest. Don’t give up any money to these clowns.

Emma was very professional and helpful. No query was ever too much bother and towards the completion date when things got a bit frantic we felt that Emma was supportive and understanding.
We trusted Emma’s skills and knowledge and were reassured by her professionalism and integrity.
Thanks for everything Emma

Tom was very efficient. He was always quick with replies and kept us updated on each step of the process. We never had to chase him up to ask how things were going or check the work had been done. This kind of attention and efficiency feels rare these days, so we are very grateful and very happy to have worked with conveyancing direct.

This was my second time using CDL and I have to say Jess Day was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire process. She was always available to assist whenever we called and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Her efficiency and dedication were greatly appreciated, and I truly believe she is a real asset to Conveyancing Direct Limited.

Cerys Donaldson handled our remortgage and was very helpful and efficient both by email and on the phone. Proving our identity was a little frustrating - the Credas app. photo 'window' shows more than is actually captured so missed my signature! Nevertheless, completion met to our required timescales so we are happy clients and grateful to Cerys.

Jessica Haywood was very efficient and thorough. Would highly recommend.
Excellent smooth and efficient service from Maha Iqbal and Conveyancing Direct. Communication brilliant throughout the sale ans nothing too much trouble.
This is the best conveyancing firm I have come across in 40 years of buying & selling home, including B2L's.
The person we dealt with was Cerys Donaldson, who is:
- professional
- knowledgeable
- responsive
- helpful
Despite being involved in a chain and having to deal with other, inept conveyancing solicitors, Emily Briers has been fantastic throughout the process. she has chased and been super responsive, despite my nagging e-mails :) and helped us finally get our sale & purchase safely over the line.
Emily was super efficient & I would definitely recommend her and Conveyancing Direct to any prospective clients.
I cannot emphasise enough to anyone thinking of using Conveyancing Direct to think again. Absolutely dreadful service from start to finish. Unfortunately the people at the bottom of our chain chose to use this firm (as directed by Dixons estate agents). Zahra is apparently a trainee solicitor who did not seem to know what she was doing. We kept being given dates for completion but then told they weren’t ready and therefore it couldn’t be this date due to ‘finding more enquiries’. Even my estate agent was constantly chasing her for information and got the same incompetent answers. In summary, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT THE STRESS THEY HAVE CAUSED US.
Huge praise and appreciation to Dominique for her professionalism, determination and commitment to pursuing every obstacle she was faced with on our nightmare conveyancing journey. We began the process on 9th September 2025 and finally completed yesterday 12th January 2026 . The incompetence demonstrated by the both the buyer’s solicitors and Santander being the reason for the hugely stressful delay !. We are indebted to Dominique for her relentless patience and determination to chase and pursue any issues she was presented with … and there were many !!. If it hadn’t been for Dominique I believe we would still be waiting to complete this hugely frustrating process!!. Dominique should be recognised for going above and beyond.. showing such humility and genuine commitment to getting the job done … huge respect and thanks to a wonderful lady who I imagine will go far in her career 🙏💕
What started as a smooth journey suddenly became very bumpy due to incomptence and poor communication. There were 6 parties in our chain, the bottom of the chain were both using Conveyancing Direct as they were introduced to them by their estate agent (Dixons). There were 4 different proposed dates due to their suddenly being more enquiries raised at the bottom. These in turn took over a week to be dealt with. It turns out this company are NOT solicitors but a conveyancing company who are part of the Connells group. The ‘trainee’ solicitor Zahra would never respond to my solicitot and when she did it was a different story to what was given to everybody else. The stress this cause all of us in the chain is appalling and completely unnecessary. We were ready to move the middle of November but the process was dragged out due to incompetence until the last quarter of December. The most bewildering part of all of this is that the two people dealing with the case were sat next to each other in the office! Not sure how this isn’t a conflict of interest but surely this should have made the communication between the two alot more effective.
Unfortunately it appears their fees are significantly cheaper compared to others but personally, save yourself the stress and pay tha little bit more for a competent and coherent solicitor. This chain was at the brink of collapse due to the miscommunication and lack of professionalism. Luckily, at the last hurdle someone called Ellie took over the case due to Annual Leave. She got the ball rolling and a concrete date in place before the final deadline for Christmas.
All I can say is, watch Panorama if you want to put the pieces of the puzzle together
Dominique acted for us for our purchase of our new home. She was absolutely great throughout the whole process.
Always kept us up to date and ensured she was proactive in chasing things up. I only wish we would have used her for the sale of our property aswell! Thankyou so much Dominique x
I engage Gulcan Thomas, offie add St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, as my Solicitors. Being a buyer, buyer, I asked her too many questions and I raised many queries in the process. She responded very professionally and covered extra miles to honour my request to treat my file on priority due to my personal circumstances. To be honest, she concluded the entire process in just 5 weeks . The charges were affordable as compare to their competitors and the level of service and support I received was tremendous. Very well done Gulcan & Thank you very much.
Jess Day looked after me through a rather prolonged process and she was extremely efficient and very patient. I felt well cared for and was well informed at each stage of the process of selling my house. thank you Jess. I strongly recommend them.
Christian Peterson did an outstanding job on assisting us with buying our first property.
Couldn’t recommend him anymore.
