Information provided by various external sources

Hello and thank you for stopping by our site. We are a nationwide company with centers throughout the US and Canada. We service, repair and rebuild all types of transmissions for both individuals and fleets companies. Typically, we work with clients who have transmission problems and are frustrated with the process of getting their car repaired. Our clients have told us before we started working with them they were concern with being overcharged for work performed. They were afraid of being lied too and would be charged for work that they did not need. Now, you probably don’t have these concerns, if you do, then you should call and find out if you qualify for a free complete transmission checkup. This includes a road test and external examination of your transmission, where we will evaluate the performance and condition of your vehicle's transmission, and determine what services, if any, are required.

DON’T GIVE COTTSMAN A TRY

DON’T GIVE COTTSMAN A TRY
I brought my 2006 Odyssey to Cottsman after reading the reviews. Rob at the Greensboro location seemed pleasant enough. The van’s transmission overheated one time so I wanted to have it looked at. Rob drove it several times and could not in his words “recreate” the problem. {He said ALL the gears are still there and working properly.} He recommended dropping the transmission and opening it up to look at it. He said to do this alone would cost $489.00, to which I agreed. He also said after taking it apart he would make a recommendation and that if we chose to he could put it back together and we could move on. After taking it apart he recommended a rebuild @ a cost of $2500, which is about right if you want to go that route. I simply ask him to put it back together and let me have it back. He called and left me a message that it was ready to pick up so I sent my wife to get her van, he didn’t say anything about there being any problems with the car. She went there paid the agreed amount and left on a Friday. When I got in the van on Saturday and tried to back out of my driveway to go car shopping it will not go into reverse. Reverse is like neutral. My wife said the man who checked her out said that reverse was slipping. Well if you call NO reverse slipping then I guess that’s true. Obviously, it was not put back together correctly. I really feel like I paid Cottsman Transmission $500 for Rob to take reverse out of my van and now trading it in will be an issue. Rob, in the future I would recommend not taking something apart if you don’t know how to put it back together correctly. I recommend looking elsewhere for car service in Greensboro.
