I bought extended warranty for my…

I bought extended warranty for my fridge with courts. Fridge compressor broke down on Wednesday. After much persuasion service man finally came on Friday. (Courts SA Mentioned svc company will call in 2-3days) and then svc company whatsapp and said repairman can only come 2-3days?) All the food in freezer and fridge obviously turn bad and disposed! I have called and whatsapp several time to Courts and their repair agent Greenlife to enquire with regards to food spoilage claim under their term and condition part B(ii). As of now no one has return my call to update.

If I had not bought this extended warranty, an outside handyman will definitely come on the spot with the same price of the warranty charges. Not having to wait for repair to be done only on the 3rd day!

I have been purchasing furniture and electronic items with Courts for years. I was looking for a refrigerator this time. Mr Luigi (Courts Tampines Megastore) attended to me. He knows his products very well, very patient with me, I'm very impressed by his services. It was another good experience purchasing from Courts, as usual.

Good shopping experience at Tampines Mall Courts

I was looking for a desk fan at Courts (Tampines Mall). A staff member, Kee Teck Heng, assisted me with my enquiries and purchase. Kee Teck Heng was very helpful and friendly, and he deserves to be commended for his excellent service.

FlexiPlan Hotline

Call up the FlexiPlan hotline and I faced the worst customer service officer ever. Very reluctant, no greeting at all, waiting for me to say hello. Really no etiquette.

WORST EXPERIENCE FROM ONLINE ORDER!!!!

please for the sake of your time, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM COURTS WEBSITE. WORST EXPERIENCE. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPER TERRIBLE. I bought an apple tv and opt for flexi plan, instalment plan because want to pay monthly. i only received order acknowledgement, they did not send me any delivery confirmation after a week, emailed them, told me will get back to me soon but end up never. the order also did not appear in my account. i called cs after a week and told him what happened, he also cannot find my order??? , i told him i want to bring my apple tv overseas and he scolded me!!! he said i'm not suppose to bring the item oversease because it's instalment plan and said i will breach their contract or whatever crap!!! he still said the item isnt mine because i havent fully paid, then whats the point of me paying and getting the item???? it's the first time ive heard this kind of nonsense, sometimes customers dont know that they not suppose to bring their instalment item overseas, can talk nicely what!!! in the end i asked for a refund instead because whats the point purchasing and getting restricted from bringing overseas. surprisingly they are fast on getting back to me for the refund but not about my order. seriously courts, i dont ever want to order online or even go to courts. you guys are the worst. PLEASE DONT EVER BUY FROM THEIR WEBSITE.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service.
One said can swap with another item so we went all the way to the store, but the staff at the store said once open cannot exchange. Then asked to get a black and white say can exchange, called back customer service, said can exchange but have to charge 30%. Keep saying we should check the feature before purchase, but point is why are they saying different things to the customer?

Please think twice before purchasing Courts extended warranty

Please think twice before purchasing from Courts with their extended warranty. Below, I'm sharing my unpleasant experience with them.

On 25 Feb 2023, I purchased a recliner along with a 1-year warranty plus a 4-year extended warranty.

On 3 Mar 2023, the recliner was delivered.

On 21 Mar 2023, I reported that the recliner failed to fully resolve the issue with the leg raised function.

On 20 Dec 2023, I reported the same issue reoccurring.

On 30 Jan 2024, another repair was attempted, with the promise from their repair team that this would be the last repair and a replacement would be offered if the same issue recurred.

Within a matter of weeks, on 8 April 2024, I contacted Courts again and reported the same issue. They insisted on repairing the unit when the parts were available.

Despite the extended warranty, the recurring issues and refusal to replace the faulty recliner have been very disappointing. I have escalated this to mediation with CASE, and they are currently following up on the matter.

Please consider this experience when making your decision on purchasing from Courts.

Disappointing purchasing, product & delivery experience. Courts failed in all categories.

I had a negative experience with Courts Bukit Timah branch, particularly with the delivery & installation service of my new TV. Courts salesperson told me that installation of my new TV is included in the price but it wasn't so. The delivery guy was very unprofessional. He came alone with a huge 65" TV package & could not manage alone because he did not have enough hands to hold and install the TV. He asked me, the customer to help and was in a hurry to leave without demonstrating how to use the remote functions properly. When I could not activate the channels, he blamed my internet provider for the problem. He also charged me $50 to drill a hole and could not offer a receipt. He left in a hurry, very impatiently. Multiple attempts to reach Courts to offer my feedback were unsuccessful. Courts promised someone would call me back to address my concerns but no one did. In addition, the product quality was below par. There was no way to test the product at the store. The salesperson declined my request to bring out the remote control citing her manager said the remotes are locked up as they are prone to losses. This level of service is disappointing and unacceptable.

Lousy Customer Service & Bad attitude of Delivery guy

I bought a 9kg front-loader Sharp washing machine from Courts Megastore. It was delivered on Monday, May 24th, on time. However, the delivery personnel had an attitude problem. They dragged the unboxed new washer into the house, along with dirt and dry leaves. Typically, it should have been unboxed outside the house and carried in.
When they discovered an issue with the power plug, instead of trying to resolve it, they insisted on leaving the unboxed new washing machine inside the house and taking away my existing washing machine, even though the new one was having a problem. It felt like they saw the existing one as working and wanted to sell it.

When I called Court's customer service, the staff replied is like reading from some standard procedure manual without trying to understand my problem. Then, I requested that the manager contact me, but their response was to call them back to check the update. What is the point of having a customer service line that cannot help resolve the problem?

As for the logistics personnel, I have never met such bad-attitude staff. They try to defend themselves by telling lies. This was the first time I encountered such a practice of bringing the unboxed washing machine into the house rather than unboxing it outside!

Courts did not make promises to deliver on time

Next time if I want to buy from courts, i won't ever buy washing machine or heavy device from them especially delivering.

Arranged delivery date on 30/04/2024 7pm to 9pm did not arrive at all terrible experience.and the delivery promised me to be arrive by 10.30pm end up it did not arrive and it extended to 11.30pm. I feel annoying and disappointed in them. I won't purchase on courts anymore. Also the delivery personnel, very bad attitude towards me.

Lousy customer service

If I could give a minus, I will surely give. When there is an issue on the product you purchase, you really got to pray to God! Their customer service really sucks! And, buying insurance for the product is a waste of money.

I have just purchased a 11kg Top Load LG washing machine from Courts and also bought the extended warranty for another 3 years.

The washing machine was delivered on Saturday, 27th April 2024.

On 29th April, I have instructed my helper to do a tub clean to the machine. The machine became very hot! Out of fear, we have it power off immediately. When we open the lid to check, the water in the washing machine was boiling!

Called Courts customer service, the staff responded like a robot! No empathy! And told me to wait for 3 days for a reply!!

Reported to LG, and I got this reply :
So based on this did the machine got smoke up and cables burn because of the heat any plastic area melted and we have to submit to management since this is safety issue.

And, they have to gather feedback which I do not know what they are referring to. And, wanted to fix a date for their technician to assess the machine!! Another kind of customer service that you could not get much of the help!

It is obviously a manufacturing defect, they could simply arrange for a replacement immediately. But, they need to wait for "feedback".

Unacceptable Logistic arrangements

We bought 2 TV sets at your outlet at NEX mall on 6 February 2024 (Invoice no. 8751000021859). Delivery was scheduled to be on 19 April 2024 from 10am - 2pm. Handled by Mr. Ng Wooi Ken.
On 19 April, my husband and I took leave to wait at our newly purchased flat. After waited for 2½ hours till 12.33pm we texted Ken for the actual delivery time. No respond for almost 45 minutes, we then received a call back at 13.14pm and was told that items we ordered are out of stock. This came as such a big SHOCK to us and wonder why we were not being informed earlier (at least a day or two in advance) so that we can make other arrangements to have other installations on this very day. We pushed back many other works because this TVs delivery was on this day. We have also arranged for the installation of Broadband to coincide on the same day after the TVs are set up. This unexpected outcome has messed up our plans greatly. We are extremely disappointed with the services of COURTS / Sales personnel / Logistic department.
When Ken called after 45 minutes we texted him, he then offered to replace it with another models and a next day delivery. Such arrangements could have been made days before the scheduled delivery. Good communication is the key to maintaining good customer service and yet it was at the very last minute that we received the information about the issue of out of stock for the TVs we ordered.
As we are in a big rush to move into our new house and our schedules are very tight. Every day is packed with different work to be carried out before our move on 23 Apr. Thus, this UNCALLED FOR "episode" has caused us plenty of stress and inconvenience. We must push back some arrangements just to accommodate the rescheduled delivery and installation. Also, we made an additional trip to be at the NEX in rearranging the purchase and delivery documentation.
As a reputable company like Courts, I don't believe such a situation should happen. It will certainly cause a big dent to your good reputation.
We would like your good self to seriously investigate this matter and give us an explanation why this episode could happen.
Why were we not informed in advance? Why there wasn’t a call even on the very day of delivery? Why do we need to call Ken and he needs time to find out about our purchase? And it is not just one of the TVs we ordered is out of stock, it is both the TVs we ordered that are out of stock. How could a big company have this kind of logistic issue and did not bother to inform the customer in advance?
Is this the way Courts handle customer service?

Bad Quality and Almost Useless Protection Plan

Bad quality: Had purchased system 2 Daikin aircon end 2022, once installed i already experienced noisy and not very cold air from the machines. However it is just lesser cool than other aircon i had experienced, hence i just leave it. However after 1 year the aircon is getting warmer, hence i called the Courts to request someone to come down to take a look. The guy checked and just mentioned there might be gas leak but cannot found the root cause. He just topped up the gas and left and asked me to call Courts if this happens again. I seriously doubt the quality of the machine / installation that Courts had provided, this is Daikin and yet within 1 year, it starts to breakdown.

The horrible part is that 3 mths after the service, 28 Mar 2024, the aircon broke down with an error code U0 (gas depleted/overheating). i had purchased Courts protection plan which is not cheap and yet when i tried to call them to arrange a service date, they told me it is public holiday and only next Tue has slots, so i waited. Sat they called me again saying Tue has slots but nothing been confirmed again. I called on Monday 1 Apr again, the department said Tue is all taken and may need to push to Wednesday or Thursday... seriously? What is the point of purchasing protection plan if i cannot get anyone when i most needed them? It is like 36-37 degree everyday now..

I would seriously wrote reviews everywhere to warn anyone i know or don't know against buying any important home appliance from Courts and also the protection plan.

ZERO STAR - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES AND WORST WARRANTY EVER

ZERO STAR

Refund my S$270 that I paid to get only BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES and COURTS USELESS extended WARRANTY that covers NOTHING.

21 Oct 2022

Bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max 128 GB from Courts S$1799 and paid S$270 for their 1+2 years in house extended warranty which Courts' sales staff claimed was "as good as OR even better" than Apple Care as they will pickup the phone for checking - simply by calling their hotline.

1 year later:-

8 - 12 Dec 2023

Faults appeared (@ Hokkaido Japan) during holiday trip

1. Intermittent shutdowns
2. Battery does not last long
3. Charging port loose

30 Jan 2024

I decided to have the phone checked. Received an email from Jonathan and submitted my INFO of the sales order/faults.

1 Feb 2024

No reply. Emailed them and Muhammad asked for my INFO again. Both of them disappeared.

5 Feb 2024

Jatzen asked for INFO again and he disappeared.

13 Feb 2024

Called hotline and Ms Noraini asked for INFO again.

But she was kind and helped a lot by referring my queries to her colleague Mr Sani Bin Baharudin.

15 Feb 2024

Courts Mr Sani Bin Baharudin replied:-

"Charging port loose is an exclusion of the warranty. Also the warranty covers events happening only in Singapore. Refer to the attachments sent by the relevant department. Please monitor the other issues and if the issue persist, please let us know. We will keep the case open till end of the week."

21 Feb 2024

Mr Sani replied my queries:-

"Battery is not covered by the warranty. As per your 1st email, my colleagues here all had the same experience while they were in Japan. This is due to the cold temperatures there, Once they are back, their phone did not give them any issues. However, as per previously mentioned in the 1st email i've sent, the warranty is only applicable in Singapore but i have informed you to observe the phone, if after bringing it back it has issues, to contact us.

You have however informed that it is the battery issue. If you see the T&C of the warranty, battery is not covered by the warranty. Warranty only covers Electrical and Mechanical only.

We can engage our repairer to assess the issue with the phone but we need to inform you that if the issues are exclusion of the warranty, it will come with cost. Hope this explains our stance on the matter. Thank you."

28 Feb 2024

"As per your request to list down the warranty coverage, you may refer to our Terms and Conditions. The Terms and conditions are also at the back of your invoice on the purchase. We apologies we are unable to assist you further than this. Thank you."

5 Mar 2024

"Charging port loose has already been informed to you that is an exclusion of the warranty on February 15 via email. Just to recap, You reported that the phone intermittent shutdown on Japan trip. Battery does not last long and Charging port loose. This is to inform you that all those issues does not cover under the warranty. We have deemed this case as closed and will be sending you an official letter stating this."

24 Mar 2024

FYI Courts warranty is so GENERIC it is for air cleaners. bread toasters vacuum cleaners - and iPhones too!

Do you know Courts extended warranty does not cover electrical and mechanical faults - as confirmed by Mr Sani.

How about electronics faults?

Mr Sani refused to answer...

COZ IT IS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THEIR WARRANTY!

Does it mean COURTS warranty only covers:

"EMPTY RETAIL BOXES AND CARTONS" of their products - which is not electrical, mechanical nor electronics. AND do ensure the retail boxes and cartons are still in Singapore - else no support.

Is it true?

Disclaimer:
*** This assumption was derived from Mr Sani's email reply as above. Please clarify if it is not true by using your own judgements.

Till now - No email reply, no more customer supports, no official letter. Refusal to provide a list of iPhone parts/faults covered for my clearer understanding.

Now Courts REFUSED and CLOSED my case.

Thus my complaint being lodged here right now for public information.
