Amazing Customer Service by Faridah and Jason

My wife and I recently bought a home and were window-shopping looking for furniture after dinner at Courts Megastore located in Tampines.
We were so pleased with the customer service provided by retail associate Ms Faridah Ahmad and Mr Jason Tan that we decided to purchase several items the very next day as it was close to closing time.
Despite the late hour, Ms Faridah and Mr Jason Tan were passionate in their job and took the time to go through the different mattress types and storage beds and headboards available. We also spotted a 3 + 2 leather sofa set that we really liked and they did their best to give the best possible price for the combined purchase.

Ms Faridah is like your favourite makcik who is always kind and doting on you. She will always do her best for you. It's because of this we finalized the purchase the very next day!

As a young family, and new home-owners, we will always remember the kindness from Ms Faridah.
She stayed past her working hours to speak to her branch manager on our behalf to see how the current ongoing promotions, rebates and offers could help my wife and I.
Thank you also to the branch manager of Courts Megastore in Tampines!

Last but definitely not least, if you're looking for bedding, mattresses, storage beds and everything else related to beds - look no further than Mr Jason Tan from Courts Megastore. He makes you feel at home and is knowledgeable about everything to do with bedding and can recommend the best mattresses with even the headboards from bed frames to suit your everyday needs.

Finding furniture for your new home can be made easier by looking for Ms Faridah Ahmad and Mr Jason Tan for all your new home furniture needs!

Purchase at your own risk

Even though delivery period was set to be 11 am to 3 pm, they gave a call at 11.58 am which I missed due to work and they proceeded to send the message that the delivery is on the way. By the time I had time to check on it 15 min later, they claimed they're outside my door and nobody's home. It was clearly agreed and stated on the invoice that the call was to be made 1h prior to delivery. I did not know everything could happen within a span of 15 min from the phone call to the dispatched msg of "on the way within 30 min" to being outside my door.

All this put me through so much distress and your company claimed that I needed to pay 30 dollars for a rescheduled visit.

Most screwed up delivery services & company ever. Pls wake up your idea. Never gonna be buying from Courts ever again.

BEWARE of their made to order furniture

Went to Courts at lot 1 on 29 June and placed order for this sofa, lead time was 8-9weeks. We selected the color “stone”. On 15 August, someone called and told me need to add $190 for our chosen color (this was not communicated before) and told to accept the color, the same color as display set at courts lot 1. We accepted as we did not want to delay the delivery further. Sofa was delivered on 25 August. Sofa came with different shades of color. The left seat also has a sink-in feeling compared to the other 2 seats. We vividly remembered that we encountered the same thing when testing out the sofa and was assured that new one will not have this issue as the display set was already more than 1 year old. We contacted courts for refund. They then sent their qc guy to come and brush off everything and said the sofa is normal and close the case. On 15 sep, i visited courts lot 1 again. The display set was gone. Overall purchase we felt cheated as the quality was not up to standard. So others beware of their tactics and think carefully when buying furniture from them.

Refusing to refund for defective item delivered (this is not an isolated occurence, there is an exactly similar review I've seen below posted just one month ago Aug 2023)

I saw a review with the EXACT same experience as mine below!!!! About the Toshiba washing machine..

Courts is running an absolutely dodgy business, intentionally hard-selling poor quality brands to unsuspecting customers, and then refusing to take any responsibility, and then asking customers to absorb a penalty fee for their own DEFECTIVE items.

I was looking for a new washing machine and the promoter strongly recommended a Toshiba one. I thought this was strange as out of all the usual popular brands like Samsung, LG (even Panasonic perhaps), Toshiba doesn't seem to stand out. But since the promoter was extremely enthusiastic and in the end I chose to trust the recommendation. Alas, BIG MISTAKE.

The brand new washing machine delivered was DEFECTIVE ON ARRIVAL. As I called the Toshiba service centre but got nowhere, I therefore went back to the store.

The same salesperson was there, and I was met with disbelieve and a disgustingly arrogant attitude that "this simply cannot happen, I have never heard of it", and a blatant lie that he "already asked [me] to buy the larger capacity 11kg that day" (-- which is HUGE!!!! and not usually recommended for an average family. what a strange sales tactic), plus finally ANOTHER BLATANT LIE that the service center had directly communicated with him that they had contacted me to resolve the issue (putting aside fraudulent operations, that is a shocking and frightening breach of privacy! I had not even gone back to the store at the time, why would a third party salesperson already get involved? There is no logical explanation other than to suspect he is commissioned under Toshiba to receive this insider private information in realtime).

Finally after wasting my time further, I was given the following unacceptably bad "solution":
WAIT for the service centre to call me back (it had already been 4 hours lapsed without them calling back at that point, how long is reasonable), WAIT for them to give me and appointment to come down to inspect the machine, WAIT to see if it can be fixed. And finally WAIT for the store to communicate with this incompetent service team and the WAIT SOME MORE for someone to assess if I could at that point return the defective item.

So basically, shop at your own risk. For the majority, if your item is working as it should be, then that's all well and good. In the case that you have unfortunately received an defective item upon arrival that never even worked in the first place. Well, then that's when Courts gears up to offer you an impossibly and ridiculously longwinded "solution" to scare you off, and then they happily take more of your money.

Unfortunately, I have a real job that does not involve using unscrupulous means to cheat unsuspecting clients off their money, and therefore waiting endlessly for things to happen does not work.
In the end, in order to get myself out of their ridiculously inefficient fake solution to the problem, I had to top up for a new machine and also PAY A 30% PENALTY FOR A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT DELIVERED.
Additionally I was even told "what can we do if you don't accept our offer". What a disgusting attitude and false pretense of "customer service".

Well done Courts, us customers will never be able to fight your corporate ways but I can afford to pay for this lesson to know that a clear conscience and honest ways of running a business are lost to you.

Once a big Fan and Supporter of COURTS Singapore, NEVER AGAIN!!!

I have been a big fan and supporter of COURTS Singapore since 2017. 85% of my household products, including Beds, furniture, and electrical appliances, are all from COURTS.

But after today's encounter, COURTS will NEVER be the first in mind anymore.

Because of ONE SIMPLE INQUIRY (How long is the cable for Wall Fan), I wrote to Courts live chat on 2 August 2023 at 11.16 am, and I was notified it would take a couple of minutes for the supporter to be in contact. I waited till 11.45 am, no response. I wrote 3 messages at 1.05 pm, but no response.

I went down to COURTS at Woodlands CauseWay Point with my elderly Mother (wheelchair bound), and asked for a specific fan model, although the staff is not too friendly, he managed to answer my questions. However, the fan model I want is out of stock. He didn't bother to check for me if this fan is available at other nearby stores, and simply told me to leave my name and contact, when stock arrived, they would contact me. I went over to another section and asked where can I get the earpiece, the staff with an impatient look, without opening his golden mouth, just pointed in one direction. WOW!! What "good" services have I received from such a gigantic store with so many staffs?

I came home disappointed, wanted to purchase online (too much hassle for me to run to and forth), and saw the live chat reply at 5.52 pm!! WHAT?!

I proceeded to purchase online, but their website was super unfriendly, called the hotline 1800 2226868 multiple times, and forget about it! NOBODY will answer your call, this call will only push you around here and there, BUT you will never get to talk to anybody.

I finally purchased online with a $30 delivery charge because there is NO SELF-PICK-UP OPTION. There is also NO option to locate the stock availability in-store. I felt very very unhappy with my experience with COURTS today and I wrote in to cancel my order within 5mins. Let's see when COURTS will reply to this request.

I hopped over to Harvey Norman web, the website is so much much friendlier and I completed my purchase at the same price without a delivery charge (Self pick up option near my house) within 2 mins. I can even check the stock availability from each individual store.

Thanks to COURTS today for letting me know they do not treasure their Customer!!!

Would have given 0 stars if i could but…

Would have given 0 stars if i could but too bad need to minimally give 1 star!!!!
The customer service is seriously one of the worst i have ever experienced in my entire life. Super rude customer service manager.
What happened was i bought a washing machine and it was not working as i tried to use today. It is brand new and i just got it a few days ago. Therefore, i decided to call up the customer service hotline to seek urgent assistance. The first person to pick up the call was just a normal staff from the customer service. She was okay, she didnt do anything much. She explained to me that because its saturday so the earliest time possible to get the manufacturer to call me was on monday. However, i requested for them to call me early in the morning so that they could come asap on monday itself. She then say she will write an email to the manufacturer on my request which it was okay However, i personally requested to talk to the manager thinking that he would be a better fit to expedite my request.

The manager called me and i tried to explain things to him but he says i have to understand his process and when i was talking he kept interrupting me. This caused an argument in the end. He does not have a very good tone saying comments like "i dont care", "The earliest i can do is just as soon as possible" and just keep on pushing the responsibility to the manufacturer without withholding a single sense of ownership. The way he talked to me was as if he was my customer and not the other way round. He did not care even if i were to write a google review. Overall, he is just super rude and i genuinely think that he doesnt fit to be a customer service manager and is definitely worst than his own staff. As someone who works in the service industry, it is a practice to know the phrase "customer is always right". He has 0 empathy and instead he just wants to 'force' me to accept what he says and be over with it. I dont think i will want to purchase any more items from Courts in future (he says this is ok for him and he cant stop me OMG!) and suggest Courts to send him to internal coaching.

Name of manager: Jenson

And the electrician they provided is suck, arrive almost 7pm and drilling the wall without inform me and cause the complaint from my neighbour. And the electrician did the wiring trucking in such a way that it does not appear to be a straight line, it's crooked.

I had a bad experience with customer…

I had a bad experience with customer service today on the phone. I spoke to Conrade Diaz, on the phone regarding the discrepancy on my credit report showing as wrriten off. Firstly, he wasn’t listening to me and my concern. He keeps saying I’ve to make payment. Which I did told him that is secondary and I know I need to make payment. However I need the explanation on the Wrriten off status.

The conversion didn’t end up good. He said we can’t communicate on the phone. Have to end the call immediately. He thought that he had already hang up. But fortunately! He didn’t, as I was hearing his conversion with his colleague immediately saying like:

This lady is asking for written off documents. Because credit report shows her account is Wrriten off. I told her she needs to pay. But she’s wasn’t listening to me.

His colleague then explained to him, what the Wrriten off meant and how credit report shows that. At the end.. they said GO TO HELL WITH HER!

I was very angry! I keep saying hello hello? He hang up after his conversation with his colleague. I called again to ask for explanation on what I’ve just heard .. about saying GO TO HELL WITH HER.

He denied it and keep saying I rest my case! THIS WAS THE WORST WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’ve asked him for his manager name, he refuse to share with me. And he hang up my call.

I gave a call again to courts main line number, explained to the lady about my conversation with Mr Diaz! She had the audacity to tell me: maam how do you know he was talking about you?

Seriously? Who else will he be talking about? I just had call with him second ago, and who asked about Wrriten off document. Who else will ask within that second?

Courts! I need the higher management please contact me as soon as possible.

Less than desirable customer service

My somewhat bad experience at the air purifier section at Courts Tampines on the Sunday afternoon of 25th June 2023 has left me wondering if the company ever trains its service staff.

After listening to the promoter explaining the specs and pluses of a certain brand’s air purifier to my husband and me, I decided to buy one unit after some consideration.

While my husband walked away to check out other models, I told the sales person that I would like to get one.
I was flabbergasted when he replied with a curt ‘Get it yourself’!
I could hardly believe that those three words had indeed left his mouth especially when the box is a big one and I am a woman with her right hand all wrapped up in a cast as it is fractured.

I think a decent salesperson would have said ‘Okay, let me help you’, then get a trolley, place the box on the trolley before calling my husband over to direct him to the cashier at the far end to make payment.

After this experience, I don’t think I would want to buy the washing machine that I’ve in mind from Courts - especially coming home and reading the less-than-lustre reviews by other customers.

Fire your Customer Service team

I’m writing specifically about “Same day delivery”. NEVER opt for it. I tried it only once and had to give up my entire evening for a delivery for which I paid S$50. The delivery slot given to me was 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Really Courts???? A “FIVE HOUR”window within Singapore? Are your delivery really so inefficient?? And that too when I paid 50 goddamn dollars??? Hire someone who is ready to commit to his job, not some junky who gets high on the way to delivery and waits till the last minute to deliver. Even better, give me money to straighten up your supply chain.
