Shame you have to give one star, they don't deserve it. Their customer service and after sales is a complete joke, as it does not exist. Despite several attempts to contact them, they never respond.

Poor experience, …

Had solar panels and battery storage fitted by cozy energy. It took over 8 months to get any paperwork from them which means I was unable to register for export. They told be there was a backlog due to demand, but it turned out they had been suspended from their accreditation body so could not issue certification. As for the work, the team worked hard on the day of installation, but the work was sub standard and the electrical certificate was not correct either. They have had to send another company reattend twice on their behalf to make the best of a bad job.
Had I known now when I was looking to have it installed, I would’ve picked a different company

Sorry for the delay coming back
we have looked at the review and investigated and our response is we completely disagree with your version of events. You originally placed an order with us for solar pv and battery storage and was commissioned and paid for in full with no complaints from yourself 8 weeks later you contacted us and purchased an additional battery at a cost you agreed still no complaints about the first installation and you was a happy customer when 12 weeks later (4 weeks after the initial 8 weeks ) we installed the additional battery for you and you was happy and the installers left. It was only when we contacted you for payment for the additional battery that you started to fabricate reasons not to pay the balance owed and started to try and negotiate a cheaper price than was contracted for. We also sent one of our independent MCS accredited installers out to check the system and it was confirmed was MCS compliant but still made some changes at no cost to you to keep you satisfied. you sent your own electrician in to check it who was not qualified in solar who suggested a couple of changes that were not requirements to 18th edition or MCS regulation we again made those changes to keep you satisfied but you still tried to get a discount on a separate order. In the end Napit and the MCS found the evidence in our favour so we finally got the balance owed and then you wrote this review we would like to kindly ask it was removed

After deciding to have solar and a heat pump installed, I looked at getting some quotes in and was surprised by the lack for professional people, it was just like double glazing use to be, some people did not listen to what the customer required. Then I came across Cozy Energy, they took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, they were most helpful as I changed the requirements, and it was not a problem for then to adjust the installation.
The workmen were friendly and tidy, they took the time to explain how the system works and turned up when they said they would.

The office workers acted in a professional manor and were polite when dealing with them, overall was impressed with how the company operated and would recommend them to anyone looking to have solar or heat pump installed.

After nearly 2 years of fighting

After nearly 2 years of fighting, I have finally received my deposit back, having to utilise a chargeback on my credit card and go to the Financial Ombudsman.

I engaged Cozy to give me a quote for solar panels back in August 2022. I signed a contract and within a few weeks contractors turned up to fit the job.

However, as soon as they arrived, it became clear that the "survey" that had been done on our property and the subsequent quote were not fit for purpose.

The contractor advised that this had happened many times before with Cozy. We ended up in stalemate, the contractors unable to do the work, the Managing Director on the phone to my husband (being incredibly threatening, telling us we could take him to court but he would win) all trying to figure out a solution.

The solution was the contractors had to leave, and we would receive a new quote & contract.

The new quote/contract arrived, and was hugely different to the previous, less panels, panels in totally different places. I decided I had lost faith in Cozy and due to the breach of contract wanted my deposit back. That is when communication stopped.

I have written numerous letters & emails and not had any correspondence at all from Cozy.

I had to initiate a section 75 & chargeback on my credit card (thank god I paid with credit card) which I have just won (having to take it to the Financial Ombudsman). I am only sorry that my credit card company had to bail out this company and that they won't pay for their mistakes!!

Had my panels fitted last April

Had my panels fitted last April. The team were neat and tidy and quick. Took time to explain how the system worked. I had a issue with a solar panel emailed last Sunday and they sent a roofer the following Thursday who checked and a adjusted the panel
Also when choosing a solar company cozy were the first price and after a 2 year wait were still the best price

Fixing my system

So this review is a bit late coming and feel I need to give them credit they deserve. I had a solar pv system installed 2 years ago and the initial installation went really well guys were were great from start to finish. 3 weeks ago I had an issue with my inverter after a power cut which caused it to stop working. I called cozy energy to see what I needed to do and they booked an appointment to come out and got the system working again for me even though it was not there fault and done this with no charge. Thank you Cozy Energy

Pay by Credit Card

I had a solar pv installation by Cozy Energy Ltd, the installation went very well and was kept informed of progress and all done as agreed on the appointed day. However, I alerted Cozy to a problem I had with the system and despite some promises I was more or less completely ignored. I made a complaint to MCS only to discover Cozy’s registration had been suspended so made the complaint to Napit; it was only with their support that I had any contact from Cozy some six months after my initial notification. Cozy said they had reviewed the installation remotely (no need for a site inspection) and that it was working perfectly although I was able to prove this was not the case. In the end I had my system brought to correct working condition by a third party company after having made a successful claim on my credit card. Cozy’s after sales customer care is completely lacking and I regret my involvement with them.

Customer quality is poor

Customer quality is poor, response time is even worse than poor. Appointments are set up and cancelled at the last minute. Our system has benn faulty since August 2022 and has yet to be resolved. No one at Cozy seems to have the technical know how to find the fault and repair it. It is a Growatt System but Cozy doesn't seem to know how to deal with it. These problems have been going on since 2022.

Hi Mrs McCoy
I am a little disappointed with the review as we have been working with you continuously to find the fault which is not an installation fault it’s a manufacturer fault we have been to see you everytime you have had an issue and you have cancelled appointments with us over Christmas our last conversation with you just before Christmas was we were going to make arrangements with us to come to test each panel to find which was faulty and you were happy with this. I have checked with staff in the office and you had a conversation with them and we were going to try and get out during our Christmas break but we were unable to and other arrangements were made

Try a different company

Was really happy at first! Very proactive when sorting out the instalment and efficient when it comes to payment.
Fitters did a great job..
Had mine fitted at the start of August but still waiting for the paperwork to send to my energy provider after many calls with still no joy.. if only they were efficient with the paperwork as they were taking the money
Gives the impression they don’t care after been paid

Reciently had my install

Reciently had my install, 14 panels, two batteries, from start to finish of install the service i experienced was so refreshing. They say customer service in the uk is a thing of the past ? Well i say try Cozy Energy !!!, and after sales with care and consideration to adjustments in fine tuning the whole set up, ie how much you force charge on cheap rate from summer to winter rates, just shows that as a company, they really do care.

Caution! Please Read!

I had the absolute misfortune getting involved with Cozy I'll go through the timeline of events so you can make you own mind up:

15 September 2022:
I had initial contact with the company, seemed very knowledgeable and we continued to discuss options. I was advised that installations were between 4 to 6 weeks, which was perfect as we were ready to go

2 November 2022:
Rec'd Final quote

9 November 2022:
I signed the contract and paid a 25% (£4,996.37) deposit

9 November 2022 to 21 December 2022
I called and emailed Cozy many times for an update, each time they said they were waiting for the DNO approval, by this date, this is 6 weeks from my order date and I was told installation would be complete by 6 weeks maximum.
- Cozy Energy were blaming the DNO for delays, and said it would be weeks until they hear from the DNO regarding approval as there are massive backlog and are taking weeks if not months to approve

21 December 2022
I called the DNO myself, who advised me they had not received an application yet from Cozy.
- After my call with DNO I received an email from DNO team that Cozy sent my application on the 21 December 2022, the DNO approved my application on the same day, so there were no delays, just a stalling tactic by Cozy. The very day I mentioned to Cozy I am in contact with the DNO, miraculously the DNO received my application from Cozy

19 January 2023 – 9.7 weeks late
No install date yet even though we were 4 weeks past the 6 week max wait promise, then Cozy energy mention I need a G100, but at this point I had a contact in the DNO who said a G100 was not necessary, and Cozy had not even submitted one anyway

6 March 2023 – 117 days, 16.7 weeks late
Told install would be done by 3 weeks today, then an email came though confirming installation would be 20th March 2023

20 March 2023
No one showed up, no one contacted me, I had calls and emails after with continued excuses from Cozy and still no installation date

24 March 2023
I'd had enough of being messed around by Cozy so I formally requested to cancel my contract and asked for my deposit back. I was advised on the phone and by email I would receive the refund in full and staff in the ‘head office’ couldn’t understand why there were delays and understood why I wanted a full refund

24 March 2023 – 27 April 2023
I constantly chased my near £5,000 deposit but the Cozy went silent on me, so I went to all social media and posted what happened, A Private phone number called me, it was Cozy as an immediate response to me going to (MSC, Police, Which, RECC, Natwest ) bank who I paid the deposit and bank with and I left HONEST reviews on Trust pilot, Facebook, Instagram, google reviews, Cozy said I’m out of my 14 day cooling off period and it is ‘tough’ I can not have the full deposit.

I explained it’s totally unacceptable and I had no trust that anyone would ever show up and I want a full refund, he mentioned that I would have to pay around £900 admin for the work they've done which I disputed. He mentioned that he'd call me 2 May with an offer as long as I removed all social media comments and reviews, which I had done until now

27 April – July 2023
I submitted a dispute in with my Bank as Cozy wwouldn't refund even after waiting for many weeks. I had to provide evidence for them to review, and Cozy had to do the same their end.

After 8 months after my initial order with Cozy, the banks between them decided to award me my deposit back in full as they saw Cozy had no right to keep it.

If you have a dispute with Cozy contact your bank, Contact MSC, Which, RECC and put all your experiences on Google, Trust Pilot, Facebook, Instagram and anywhere else they have reviews, and keep on going until you get what you need.

I look forward to the reply that Cozy give in response to my review.

Having been through your file we do not agree with your turn of events , your contract was sent 03/11/2023, signed & deposit paid 09/11/2022 .
DNO was applied for 14/11/2023 approved and accepted 21/12/2022 after we chased a response on the 21st December 2022. You was wrongly advise by the salesman from NXT Gen energy (as we were the installer not the sales side) that install would be within 4-6 weeks as at that time there was a high demand for solar and all DNO application were taking a lot longer to be processed due to demand.
Your DNO offer letter clearly states that your 5kw system must be restricted to 3.68 via a limiter ,therefore you have been misinformed with regards to G100 being needed.
You was advised due to your location that we would need wait for another install near by to confirm your installation date. Your install was confirmed & booked for the 20/03/2023 due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel.
24/03 /2022 you did email to cancel your order and was advise that there would be a cost due to all the administrative work, order of kit etc that had been done , We agreed that £900.00 would be deducted from the deposit and the refund would be processed , you then decided to raise a dispute with the bank therefore delaying the refund further.

We never intended to keep your deposit and your actions delayed the process, we do feel that this review is malicious as posted months later and in the early hours again months after we had settled the dispute with you to which you removed previous malicious reviews from this site , we also have all the correspondents relating to the DNO to confirm what we have stated.

After talking to both the MCS and RECC we were informed we had the right to charge for administration costs (Which we have allowed you to keep) for the time and costs spent on various governing bodies leading up to the installation as you were months out of your cooling off period when you cancelled your contract
