We are updating our oak kitchen and have had end panels, cornice, pelmets and plinths made from MDF. We were advised to use an acrylic primer as our first coat and we then chose Crowns easy clean range multi surface emulsion. Colour city break. which is a nice grey. We are so impressed. The paint seems to be really luxurious and the finished result was so smooth it looks like it has been spray finished. We are now planning on using this on our skirting boards and door linings. It looks really classy

Crafted by crown paint - game changer!
I have a large kitchen, because the paint is so nice it only needed one coat and only took half a tin! The colour is stunning too!

Bought a 1 litre can of Crown Full Undercoat because my usual brand was out of stock. Sadly, I found this product left too many drips on the wooden chair I was painting. Even after switching from a round brush to a conventional brush, the paint still ran. The only way I could fix this was to let the paint dry for two days and then completely flat the chair surface with 1200 grit wet and dry paper used dry. I don't know whether I got a bad batch but in over 50 years of painting, my experience means that I won't use this product again.

Was always a fan of Crown paints but just bought a tin of Quick Dry Satin for Wood and Metal from Boyes. Worst paint I’ve ever come across. Its like water and doesn’t cover previous satinwood or undercoat. Will be going back to Boyes tomorrow for a refund. I hate giving negative reviews but in this instance it was justified. Emailed customer services as requested. No response.

My email question was answered promptly and efficiently by a helpful lady called Maria (Yates). She then offered to give me the names and locations of local stockists. I am very happy with the service I received.

As a painter and decorater I need a paint which I can rely on. I use Crown paints and only Crown paints and I can honestly say I have never had a problem! Problems arise with what you are painting over, you learn something new every day in this Job it's not as easy as you might think, further preparation and special primers might be needed, don't jump to conclusions and blame the paint. Thank you Crown for your great products.

I’m an experienced diy decorator. Never used a paint as awful. After four coats, it’s still looking patchy -as if it’s only had one coat - but it’s had 2 rollered and 2 brushed coats, carefully applied. I’m really, really unhappy with my choice of Crown emulsion.

I bought crown paint for walls and never again all patchy after three coats going to have to do all again with different make of paint as crown ha been awful, I've used other paints from other manufacturers and had no problems will never choose crown again.

Bought sample pot of Elle Pigment but going on very patchy. Noticed paint seemed to be separating in the tin. Stirred it well but still finish is awful.

What has happened to Crown Paint????
Bought brilliant white mid sheen for woodwork and has literally taken 3 coats to cover the previous cream colour! Awful quality paint. A £28 lesson learnt.

We bought a tin of Brilliant White One Coat Satin paint and it's put me off any other Crown paints forever.
We used to get the Quick Dry No Drip one, which was great. That doesn't seem to be sold anymore and we went for this. Firstly, it smells awful. Secondly, it's supposed to be touch dry after 4-6 hours and completely dry after 16. Well, it's now been 2 and a half days and it's still tacky. We had to reschedule the carpet fitting in that room which means the house has stayed a mess all this while, as we had to move all the furniture for the carpet and didn't expect to have to reschedule. We followed the instructions to the letter so it's not something we did.The previous paint was great but this one is the absolute worst I ever got.
Never again.

I bought a 750ml can of Quick Dry Eggshell in brilliant white. Very low opacity and even worse it has a gloss finish!! I applied the paint three weeks ago and no change to the finish whilst fully curing, I'll go back to my usual Johnstone's trade paint, it's far superior and now I have to do all my work again. Absolute rubbish. Don't waste your time and money.

I received a very prompt response from Maria Yates.
She answered my enquiry about a 2024 paint chart and sent me an updated 2023 chart along with Elle and Crafted charts too. I received them in a couple days. Thank you so much.

Just started a bespoke house in Cheshire they have supplied Clean extreme for the whole house and its now very poor quality. Not covering . Have used it since it came out but not anymore and will not recommend it either . Told the manager at Crown but passed the buck onto head office. Will not use crown paints from now on as have had other problems with other products in the past 18 months.

Hi
I have just had to return one of your 2.5ltr satin coat finish in Brilliant White back to Wicks, due to the fact on when opening the tin it is definitely not Brilliant White therefore I have paid more money for the Dulux version which when opening is actually Brilliant White and much more viscose.
On your tin it states that it will become brighter over time after it is applied but you try telling my customer that.
So on that note you failed miserably never using your paint ever again.

Had an issue with paint colour not matching the colour chart. Spoke via email with Crown and was resolved within 2 hours over a few emails. No quibbles from them and very trouble free experience to resolve the issue.

Maria from Crown was extremely helpful in getting me the info I needed and I received it the next day.
Thank you again for such good service.

Just awful. It was like putting transparent paint on the walls. It didn’t even attempt to make a start on covering. Do not buy!!!!!
