Their servers are terrible. Shows are never buffering so it constantly stops to load. Shows never upload when they should, and when they do they’re missing the subtitles 90% of the time. The demon slayer episode finally premiered like 5 hours after it was scheduled to. They take a lot of money to be a poor service provider. If they didn’t have a monopoly on the anime service industry I’d happily switch to another service.

I love Crunchyroll and all don't get me wrong every anime I could ever want to watch is on here but I'm talking about the release dates. My Hero Academia season 8 was supposed to come out today and it hasn't yet. I've been waiting for 14 hours wanting to watch it and nothing is coming up. Crunchyroll you need to get your crap together and release the final season already damnit. 14 HOURS CRUNCHYROLL!! 14 HOURS!!!

Awful app that buffers every 20 seconds. Terrible controls and impossible to watch a show properly. Better off pirating

other free platforms always have the spiodes before crunchyroll does, esp for latest my hero eps

Bro theyve been advertising my hero academia season 8 dropping at 10:30 uk timeyet theyve done absolutely nothing no updates or nothing I bought a subscription just to watch it if you wanna watch a newly come out anime or season i promise you do NOT buy crunchyroll just for it y ou will be dissapointed 1/5 will never be buying again

They charged double for my first month. I tried to get into contact with them, but my emails are all ignored. A month since and still no reply, so it seems like I just have to accept them stealing my money.
Crunchyroll is not worth the potential issues in my opinion.

Garbage app.

Within literally 30 seconds of watching something you get a 2-3 minute ad! Thats after an ad before the show, and there are another two 3 minute ad's to go too, which when its a 20-25 minute show, destroys any chance to relax and enjoy said show.
This is obviously done deliberately to frustrate you, esp as the ad's are just for more crunchyroll shows. This is without the fact the app is slow af too. Uninstalled straight away.

Little tip: if you want people to pay you money, offer a good service; DONT p*ss them off!

Why are many scenes censored. The shows should be rated according to R,MA, M or PG. Put them in the right category and stop censoring scenes.

I resubscribed to Crunchyroll, only after a couple of months not watching anime on Crunchyroll. But when I resubscribed to it, the Google TV version won't sync with my subscription, which assumes I am still on free version. This disappointing experience be seen when I tried to enter as other user, but only one user is allowed because it says I'm not "resubscribed" to any of their plans.

Then, I have to relogin back to resolve this. And also, not to mention in any platforms I watched anime with Crunchyroll, got sudden playback errors comes out of nowhere, and very slow to load the video, which forces me to hars refresh every time. And also sometimes it won't save for the episodes you just watched.

Note that I have observed this for months.

Customer service is horrible they ignore you and don’t respect, if you ever want refound you never get it. You want write feedbeck on asistent that doesnt follow rules playing dumb to Dont have to refund you.. Horrible the platfrom is okay buy i will never go back just because the whole system i feel like i been scammed dont recommend they charge you even you cancel.

If you're after an anime streaming service then there isn't much competition to Crunchyroll. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. The pros for Crunchyroll is that the premium is fairly priced. It doesn't have ads and is half the price of a Netflix subscription. I think this is fairly priced since you could have Crunchyroll premium subscription and a Netflix or Disney+ with ads subscription for the cost of a single Netflix no-ads subscription. It's good that it's lower priced because I don't think anyone wants to just watch anime all the time.

They have what's probably the biggest collection of anime in the world. Most of the best content is here, excluding the Netflix exclusives and some old classics.

The downside to Crunchyroll is that their monopoly on the anime industry is becoming a problem. The same small group of dub actors are used on rotation. You end up hearing the same voices over and over. Their localisation team aren't very good either. There's a lot of credible evidence online (you can easily look it up) that they make pointless changes to the original scripts to fit their translators or voice actors world view narratives. It's weird and annoying and that's not even mentioning the American gen Z slang they sometime chuck in for the sake of it. They're also really picky with which series get dubs. So many animes get licenced by them only to never be dubbed. In the past these would have gone to smaller companies that used to have their own dubs, so the shows would have historically been dubbed. These smaller companies are now being pushed out of the industry because of how much anime Crunchyroll is buying up. This is not a good thing for the industry or anime fans.

Finally their apps have buffering issues. I'm on a 150mb internet connection and both my smart TV and PS5 apps have buffering issues. I have no idea what the cause is but when I stream through a Windows web browser, I never have any issues. Meaning it's probably something to do with the apps themselves.

Had the show I wanted (AoT), was really good quality and I was able to cancel easily.

It said i could get a second free trial and when i clicked yes it charged me 12 fricking bucks, im fuming and cant get a refund!

Love it! Wish they had Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z

The app isn't stable - sometimes it'll play an episode fine. Other times (and more often than not) it'll skip 5-7 seconds constantly across the episode. It's not the network or device and no other streaming service has issues - it's crunchyroll. You need to clear out the cache and constantly close and reopen the app for it to start working correctly. Complete junk and I'm canceling since I spend most my time trying to get an episode to play.

The English Dubs need to be in place for episodes literally watching dbz in English then the next episode god knows lol.

Crunchyroll treats English Dub fans as if we're disposable despite them admitting that more people watch dubs than subs. Funimation treated dub fans as a priority, and NEVER licensed more anime than they could afford to dub, where as Crunchyroll licenses forty anime every season.

This is a massive issue for dub fans as CR only has the ability to dub about 20 anime in one season. That means we are guaranteed to get only about half of anime dubbed every season. I ONLY watch English dubs, but the shows I want to watch NEVER get dubbed these days.

That's because Crunchyroll blatantly hates almost any anime for a straight male audience such as Ecchi, Harem, Cute Girls Doing Cute Things, or High School Shonen. A dub company like Crunchyroll is never supposed to let bias get in the way of good business. Yet Crunchyroll does every season.

Fans of certain genres like Isekai/Fantasy, Action, or Shoujo rarely if ever have anything to complain about because any show in those genres that's even slightly popular usually gets dubbed (with the exception of shows with significant fanservice. My One-Hit Kill Sister, Let This Grieving Soul Retire, Summoned to Another World Again, and The Most Notorious Talker are all examples of Isekai with fanservice that weren't dubbed.)

Meanwhile, fans of High School anime continue to get screwed by Crunchyroll over and over again. In the last year alone, they didn't dub any of Days with My Stepsister, Psuedo Harem, I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class, Please Put Them On Takamine-San, or Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive despite all of them being among the most popular anime of their respective seasons. Literally every other anime that aired in the last year that is anywhere near as popular as those five shows has gotten an English dub, except for those shows.

That's no coincidence. CR hates any anime for straight males, so they intentionally choose to dub as few High School anime and anime with fanservice as possible. Shows like Please Put Them On Takamine-San, or Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive are both High School anime AND have some of the best fanservice of the year, so CR doesn't dub them because dubbing them would make straight males happy.

The most popular shows should ALWAYS be dubbed, regardless of genre or bias. There is zero excuse for not dubbing a popular anime like Takamine-san, especially when you have millions of monthly subscribers like Crunchyroll does. It's unacceptable, especially when it's the same type of show (High School and/or Fanservice shows) EVERY time.

Instead they dub a bunch of Shoujo and Yaoi, such as Twilight out of Focus, Cherry Magic, Anyways I'm Falling in Love With You, The Gorilla God's Go To Girl, Vampire Dormitory and Once Upon a Witches Death. I'm not saying Shoujo and BL should never be dubbed, but they shouldn't be dubbed at the expense of more popular shows. Also, they dub Yaoi but they never dub Yuri which is hypocritical and proves their support of "the gay community" is nothing but virtue signaling.

They pretend to be feminist but they NEVER dub ANY anime with an all-girl cast. They didn't dub Bocchi The Rock, Girls Band Cry, Birdie Wing, Momentary Lily, or any Idol or Cute Girls shows. Why can't we get even one Idol anime dubbed for once instead of the millionth generic Isekai?

CR doesn't care about genre diversity. All they care about are sequels, Isekai/Fantasy, Action, Shoujo, and Chinese/Korean/Western cartoons like The Apothecary Diaries and Anne Shirley that aren't even anime in the first place. Shows like To Be Hero X are not anime, and shouldn't be getting dubbed by an anime company that has tons of actual anime that are subtitle only! Anime are Japanese. A series that wasn't created by Japanese people can't be anime by definition. Let Netflix or someone who isn't anime license/dub those shows, CR should be focused on ANIME only.

Funimation dubbed nearly all of their licenses, where as Crunchyroll dubs maybe 50 to 60% of their anime. They have a huge backlog of anime that deserve dubs that they rarely ever touch. Can we please get a dub of Hinako Note, Comic Girls, or even the dub we were promised for Hybrid x Heart?

CR also gave Big Order to Discotek who released it sub-only, despite CR announcing they would dub it. They lied to fans and never once issued an apology or even had the decency to announce that Big Order's English dub is cancelled. I'm still waiting for Big Order and Hybrid x Heart dubs to be released despite knowing they never will be.

If CR wants to prove they DON'T hate straight males they can start by dubbing Hybrid x Heart, Big Order, Hinako Note, Can a Boy Girl-Friendship Survive, Takamine-san, etc, but the problem is they won't because you can't prove something that isn't true and they've shown they DO hate us.

I am currently in france and the subtitles area automaticaly locked in french even tough there are plenty of languages crunchyroll has for subtitles in one piece, i cannot change it and cannot watch it just because i am physically in another country, i do not recommend paying for poor services like these.
