Akon Reviews 

This is a repeat of my report to a customer service rep with AKON.

AKON's order process, pricing, product materials, and customer service is all very good. The trouble I have with AKON is the accuracy of manufacturing to a set of specs provided.

AKON apparently is aware of the lack of accuracy with their overseas manufacturer, and states up front that the tarps are to be made to within 1 inch +/- of the ordered spec. My order had about 12 tarps intended to be hung next to each other to enclose a picnic shelter. I had specified the dimensions of each tarp, as well as the placing of the grommets to enable the tarps to be interconnected. My tarps arrived and while all but one was within the 1 inch, the adjoining tarps were sometimes off by a minus .75 inch and then the next one off by a "plus" .75 inch. While this may be fine for a tarp covering a pile of hay, or other utilitarian use, it looks shoddy in a residential setting. The grommet placement was so far off that it appeared no care was taken to even read the spec sheet.

For these reasons, I could not recommend AKON to a customer who wishes to have a tarp system in a residential setting or anywhere requiring precision.

I recently had a partial roof built over our deck. I wanted to sit outside during a rainfall but didn't want the rain blowing under the roof and getting me wet. I shopped online for a solution and found Akon Curtains. I ordered one to see if I liked it and it turns out that a month after putting up the first, I ordered a second. My deck is now a wonderful place to watch the rain. And in fair weather, the curtains act as wind blocks if needed. I'm very satisfied.

I would not recommend doing business with Akon Curtains. The curtains I received were supposed to be pre‑drilled, yet half of them arrived without any holes at all. On the ones that were drilled, the holes were placed so low that I had to cut about 1/2" off every single curtain just to make them usable.

I was also told that if I wanted to see through the curtains, I needed opaque black material — but you cannot see through them whatsoever. When I reached out for support, they required multiple pictures and then essentially told me there was nothing they would do. The customer service response was dismissive and unhelpful.

Additionally, they do not ship their pieces together. Everything arrives separately, sometimes a week apart, which caused unnecessary delays.

Overall, poor product quality, inaccurate specifications, and unprofessional customer service. I would not do business with this company again.

We purchased several of the retractable barriers and they work perfectly. They are attractive, effective, and easy to install. They also arrived quicker than expected each time.

We saw these clear heavy duty curtains at a great local bar, the Fillin Station, Beaufort, SC. I contacted them they walked me through our order, kept me informed during the process and delivered them early. The mounting brackets are heavy duty and everything fit perfectly. Highly recommend them.

AKON, Is a supplier I can trust when it comes to safety products in the warehouse, My customer was very pleased with the retractable nets for their dock area. I would highly recommend this company for all your safety equipment needs.

Akon has made the process very simple and efficient. Their team in knowledgeable and eager to help customers find the best solutions for their needs.

I ordered a custom set of chemical curtains for use in the shop with mounting brackets. The communication was great from Akons agent Michael Davis who kept me updated on order status. Everything arrived as to order with prompt delivery. Overall I am very happy with my experience and highly recommend.

The product I ordered was shipped quickly, arrived as expected, it installed easily. It is giving me the protection that I needed for the door of my TransitBus / RV conversion

I had been looking for a solution to my wind problem for my gazebo curtains for a while. When I found Akon, they had several solutions. Their staff walked me through the whole process from measurement to installation. They made it easy and so far it has been the perfect solution.

We have tried numerous weld curtains with always the same result; they do not last. Our Site Lead found Akon trying to find a solution. At first, I was skeptical as we have tried so many other solutions. They curtain was definitely on the higher end of price, but we took a chance. The quality of construction, the ease of use, and the curtain quality was beyond anything we have ever tried. The curtain may have been on the higher end of price, but we would have already bought two of the other curtains we have tried. The longevity appears is going to be 10 times or more of any other curtain. We highly recommend if you want a weld curtain to be easy to use and last, this is the company. We are currently working on a new machine design, and we are going to incorporate curtains from Akon.

The first 15' x 20' clear unit they shipped looked good for a few days then began to shrink. it ended up shrinking a total of 6" on the 15' side so I asked for a replacement at which time I was told shrinkage on the clear product is "rare" but it does happen. So they replaced it with another one this time with white solid on top and bottom and 2' of clear in the center. As soon as I hung it I saw the clear was already shrinking and having installed this on a just finished addition to our home I asked for a refund since it looks terrible. I was told in no uncertain terms the only way they'd refund me is if I returned it in "good condition" which is impossible due to the way it is mounted. Steer clear of this unethical outfit unless you like buying garbage!

Placed an order for two large industrial curtains with several special requests / add ons. The curtains arrived much faster than promised, but they were missing one of our secial requests. AKON arranged for the curtains to be returned to them so that the request could be fulfilled and proptly returned them to us. Overall very good product and excellent customer service. Currently making another order.

I purchased a residential curtain track for my home project on Akon's Amazon site. It did not come with the chain pictured. I called Akon this morning, and Eric Lee, the sales representative, was beyond helpful. He very quickly sent over mounting instructions and 2 links for the exact chain and connectors I need. He was pleasant and knowledgeable, and made me very happy I chose to work with Akon. Customer service is EVERYTHING, so thank you, Akon, for providing top-notch representatives to help customers. Keep up the good work.

Very happy with the curtain that I got and the customer service is excellent. They were very responsive when I had an issue with shipping.
Great place.

My sales representative, Eric, knows the product. He was able to answer all my questions and confirm my order with what I needed for the application. The Akon commercial curtains are heavy-duty and durable. We use these curtains in the warehouse, separating the work area from the lab area. This order is used to enclose a lab area where we wash condenser coils and need a conditioned environment for the outdoor AC units. This is a very versatile product. Thanks, Eric.

Eric Lee and Mark Ackerman, from Akon Curtain, were extremely helpful in helping me build the exact curtain that I needed to paint in my garage workshop. They took the time to answer my detailed questions and provide their best recommenations that worked to a
T. I love the way this curtain looks and functions. I will now have an air sealed, vented for air intake (Akon's built into the curtain, intake filters), and outake through a vent hood on the side of my garage area to paint in my garage, so my wife does not complain LOL. Thanks you Eric & Mark
