Excellent personal service

Excellent personal service by a real human being. Following a billing error, I called the helpline and was answered by Harriet who dealt with my query quickly, efficiently and with a happy demeanour. Well done.

Curzon Wimbledon

We went last minute to see Wonka x 4 tickets. Excellent service good seats clean and pleasant surroundings. The staff are always helpful and I’m a member and love it. I haven’t had a bad experience even when I’ve knocked over my glass of wine at the screen. Always replaced with a smile and a great place just to chill and have a coffee.

Too cold and inadequate soundproofing

We booked to see Napoleon at Oxford. We were surprised that no one checked our tickets; there didn’t seem to be anyone to do this.
2 main problems: One the cinema was very cold even with a coat on and the second was the soundproofing was so poor we could hear the screening of film in the adjacent screen which detracted significantly from the experience. Really not good enough for an upmarket cinema. We will stick to the Phoenix which doesn’t have these issues

Membership Scam

I joined Curzon last year in Black Friday to get 7 tickets for £65 - I did struggle to use these all up such is the poverty of film and Curzon no longer showing many independent films. My reason for one star however is that, unbeknown to me they automatically renew your membership - however whereas my card was due to expire on 27 November they took the money from my bank account on the 20th! Clearly they did so to avoid giving the customer the benefit of a Black Friday deal. Aside from this the App never worked - always saying there were no films so forcing one to login online. I loved Artificial Eye (those were the days) but Curzon is a rip off. Even though they have now agreed to give me a refund their customer service seemed oblivious as to people’s financial status and how much of a crunch it is to find oneself 65 pound poorer. Curzon films is so expensive - they no longer offer concessions for students or cheap afternoon films.

Poor value

It is extremely difficult to redeem credits to watch films on Home Cinema. Every time I try the app on different devices and the website on different devices. Sometimes none work, occasionally and quite randomly one will work and allow redemption of one credit, but then stop working. Customer service is useless and very very slow, and when the problem is passed on, no one calls back. In effect you’re left to try to sort out the issue yourself. If redemption of credits was straightforward and worked unproblematically this would be great value. However, the reality is that it’s very poor value!

Poorest online website experience

I can't remember the last time I had such a poor experience using a website. I got in touch with customer services, and the issue is not resolved. Can't believe that in 2023 it can be so difficult to log into an account to book cinema tickets...I've been trying to book since yesterday. Would have gone to Everyman if I didn't already have the Curzon membership. I guess I won't be renewing it next year...Baffling.

Visit to Curzon Riverside Canterbury

Visit to Curzon Riverside Canterbury. Very nice cinema, service and advice (first visit) was great. Some advice for company, we booked our tickets on line, staff printed tickets at the bar, we had a drink then made our way to the screen. Not once was our tickets checked. We could have entered the complex, walk to the screen without paying. Also we could have watched one film and entered another screen and watched another. Curzon could lose money.

Curzon Wimbledon was aweful

Curzon Wimbledon was aweful. Over priced even by cinema standards you can expect a terrible sound system, poorly calibrated screen and cramped seating… oh, and the aircon didn’t work, so it was a complete sweat box. Staff were really rude when we explained we wanted a refund as we couldn’t sit through a 3hr movie in those conditions.

Nice cinema at Colchester but they seriously need to sort out their online booking system!!! It’s rubbish.
Also they are fond of seating everyone together which is so annoying when there are plenty of other empty seats.

Curzon Oxford

Seats are generally dirty, dirty dishes were left on seats and floor, empty glasses left so I couldn't sit at the seat I booked. People drop drinks and food on seats and I hate having to sit on a dirty seat as that ruins the movie experience a lot. Seats need a lot of improvement as it's not on for how much the ticket costs! Feeling disgusted! Plus stuff left behind makes it unsafe as I am on crutches with fractured ankle. Shame on you Curzon!!!

Curzon Cinema, Westgate, Oxford

i do not believe words can formulate how pleased I was with the customer service team at Curzon, Westgate Oxford during my recent visit to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (would thoroughly recommend).

Where do I even begin?
Not only were my good friend, Ross and I greeted with the biggest of smiles and the warmest of welcomes by a rather handsome chap named Mags,
He ensured every part of our visit, from seat designation to food orders to general query management was as excellent and efficient as possible [spoiler alert… It was!]
All while simultaneously cracking jokes with us and having a great time just as we were. Isn’t that what customer service is all about? I work in customer service myself and I have learned a lot after meeting mags, allowing me to further perfect my craft.

He went out of his way to deliver our pizzas to our seats past the closing time and even during the movie.
Food was delicious, service top notch. Nothing more nothing less.
I will certainly be returning.

Godspeed to you, Mags.

Yours, Josh
(a very happy bunny).

A beautiful venue topped off by a diligent staff member willing to go the extra mile. Me and my good friend Josh were fortunate to watch the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie at the Curzon cinema yesterday (29/05/2023). The server Mags had a real character and was easily able to adapt to my wild and outgoing personality. Unfortunately due to timing we were unable to order food in the cinema. But Mags went above and beyond and ensured we could order food, he even brought it in to us. Great service like this makes you want to become part of the Curzon membership family.

Don't get the membership

After constant difficulties getting my credits to work for booking tickets or for the home cinema, I tried to cancel my membership and their reply is that you are forced to complete the full year membership.
Save yourself time and nuisance and avoid the membership.

Having received a very unhelpful response to my complaint about the inability to activate an annual membership bought for me as a present I thought I would look up feedback about the company to find that I am one of many with similar experiences. Such a shame - have watched films at a number of Curzon cinemas and always enjoyed the experience but their membership service and customer complaints service is abysmal.

Don't bother with membership

Don't bother with membership. Bought a membership and tried to use credits to see a film. Website didn't work and made me pay for tickets anyway. Then complaint form didn't work and I had to re-write everything in an e-mail. Then got a response where they had no interest in solving the issue and instead wanted to bounce me onto a phone line and start the whole process again. In the least they could have arranged a call back with an agent familiar with the case, but zero effort made on their part. Seem to have major problems with their website and no clue how to deal with issues to keep customers happy. Nice cinemas but avoid memberships like the plague. Thankfully was in 14 day cooling off period so could get a refund.

Fraud, app doesn’t work on any device

Haven’t been able to redeem any of my credits for weeks now. Complained and was basically said ‘tough, we will continue to charge you even if you dont get the service’.
You get 15 days to cancel subscription (on those 15 days the app works) then after that the app stops working but they tell you have signed up for 12 months so you will continue to be charged for no service and they come up with an excuse that its actually you that is doing something wrong’.
