We love our Cyclehoop bike bins

We love our Cyclehoop bike bins, which have made a massive difference to our cycling. The organisation is also clearly really well run by people that care about what they do.

Over the last decade we moved from Camden (with Cyclehoop) to Hackney for a few years (which runs its own scheme), and are now in Wandsworth (back with Cyclehoop). It is great to be back in a borough that uses Cyclehoop - its a vastly better experience.

Thank you to the Cyclehoop team for all their work and energy!

cyclehoop and Anna

I had an excellent experience with Cyclehoop, and I would particularly like to thank Anna, who handled my request with outstanding professionalism, care and empathy.

I contacted her several times over a number of days, and she was always patient, helpful and reassuring. She even remembered my name, which made the whole experience feel very personal and well-managed. The process was extremely quick, smooth and efficient from start to finish.

Anna answered all my concerns clearly and took the time to explain the process, including my rights and responsibilities towards the company. Her communication gave me complete confidence, and I felt very comfortable trusting Cyclehoop with my bike.

Thank you again to Anna and Cyclehoop for such a professional and supportive service.

Cyclehoop are incredibly helpful

Cyclehoop are incredibly helpful, professional and friendly and Anna was really polite when contacting me about docking my bike in the wrong slot. She resolved the issue I was having immediately. Cyclehoop is a godsend for me living in London without anywhere really secure to keep my bike. I wouldn't be without it. Safe, easy to use and convenient at any time of the day or night. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our unit's lock was jammed recently and Laurence from the Customer Service Team helped our little bike hangar community immediately!
The next day the handyman/locksmith attended to the hangar and it was fixed.
I highlighted the fact that I cycle every day and commuting is expensive in London.

Super quick service! Thank you Cyclehoop!

It's a great service

It's a great service, really well managed and executed. Very friendly, helpful and supportive. 100%! We need a lot more of these in our neighbourhood, it's a great amenity and the setup is fantastic. I've been in touch a few times with Laurence who has been great.

Effective & efficient bike storage service

The lockers offer a safe, convenient storage amenity for bike owners in cities where space is at a premium. Customer service is speedy and efficient as I found out when I needed their assistance when changing lockers. Thanks for being there for us, Cyclehoops!

Easy!

Great, used for 6 months before ending our subscription due to an imminent move. Cyclehoop were great, we received a pro-rata refund for the days not used and key return was quick and easy. Definetly recommend!

I attempted to use one of these and it was defective! So was the app.

I attempted to use one of these bike hoops for the first time yesterday, despite having signed up and paid a deposit two years ago when the scheme was demonstrated in Maidstone. The concept looked promising, but as I’m retired and don’t shop frequently, I’d never actually encountered one to use—until now.
I booked a session, arrived, and the hoop would not open. Standing beside it was another user, frantically tapping his phone—it turned out his bike was already locked inside and he couldn’t retrieve it.
I tried again. Still nothing.
I then called the helpline. The operator spoke very quietly and was difficult to hear. After wasting time “jumping through hoops” (no pun intended), I was told I might have the wrong version of the app and should download the latest one. Reluctantly, I did.
That made things worse. The new app would not let me log in because the system had changed and my password was no longer recognised.
By this point I was furious. It was freezing cold, I’d wasted over 20 minutes, and the system was clearly flawed. Even worse, there appears to be no meaningful support outside normal working hours—this was 3pm on a Saturday.
A product that locks bikes in, fails to open, breaks user access, and offers inadequate support is simply not fit for purpose. The idea may be good, but the execution and reliability are seriously lacking.

Reply from Cyclehoop

Good afternoon Patrick,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re sorry for the frustration you experienced, especially given the time, cold weather, and the fact that this was your first opportunity to use the service after signing up some time ago. That is certainly not the experience we want anyone to have.

We understand how distressing it must have been to be unable to open the hangar. Being left waiting while technical issues persist is unacceptable, and we apologise.

Following our phone conversation after your review, we hope we were able to clarify what went wrong and address your concerns directly. As discussed, our records show that three bookings were started between 14:57 and 15:03, and we have refunded the 45p charged for these attempts.

Regarding the app login issue, we identified that this occurred because you were using your login details to access a different service within our system. We recognise that this is confusing from a customer perspective and are actively working on improvements that will allow a single login across services to prevent this happening again.

We take your comments about weekend support seriously. Access to a bike should never feel uncertain, and we are reviewing how we can better support customers outside standard working hours.

Once again, we’re very sorry that your experience fell below expectations. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve the reliability and usability of the service, and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention.

Kind regards,
Cyclehoop
