I loved Dacey’s Cornish Tour

I loved Dacey’s Cornish Tour. This tour went to all the places on my bucket list - Port Isaac, St. Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre and more. David, owner and guide, is very organized, knowledgeable and fun. He truly enjoys sharing his love of Cornwall. Jim, our driver, is amazing. You really have to be a skilled driver to navigate the narrow coastal roads! Thank you David and Jim for a wonderful trip. Your love of Cornwall is evident in everything you shared.

Devon and Cornwall Experience

I chose this tour as it included the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Michaels Mount and Port Isaac - the main attractions I wanted to see in Cornwall/Devon. This was a tour where it was acceptable to do your own thing if you wanted, no sticking rigidly to the tour programme. Accommodation was chosen carefully to give a unique experience on a daily basis. From a castle to a hotel built in the 14th century. David was very caring and made an effort to get to know his customers. Group size was just right. Jim our driver was extremely knowledgable about Cornwall and squeezed our van through some very tight spaces!!

Dacey’s Cornish Tours

The tour was very well organized and David and Jim provided much information about the area they love so much. With only 14 on the tour and a small van - we were able to get into small fishing villages. The tour hits many of the major sights in Cornwall - My highlight was St Michael’s Mount - buy the pasties and scones at Philps. It was a great trip - make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes!

Incredibly awesome tour

Incredibly awesome tour! I've never been fond of going on tours because I like to have the flexibility to do what I like to do. This is a tour that offers an organized, but casual, way of seeing the incredible sites of Cornwall. I always felt like I had some control over what I wanted to see & do. David was an enjoyable, knowledgeable guide and Jim was an excellent driver with a wealth of knowledge about the Cornwall area. They are an awesome team as they lead you through the beauty & history of Cornwall. I loved the relaxed friendly atmosphere of this tour. The hotels David picked for us to stay in were absolutely top notch! The rooms were great, the locations were great and, of course, the food was great! I would go on another tour with David & Jim in a heartbeat! Thank you, David & Jim, for the best tour ever!

Cornwall is the star and Dacey knows…

Cornwall is the star and Dacey knows that. Better yet, he knows Cornwall and hits the spots everyone hopes to see as well as out of the way or lesser known spots that make traveling with him special. He advertises that his isn't a cookie cutter tour. Here is one example that illustrates that: After checking into our hotel above Port Issac, he offered the group a bus ride into town, or a 25 minute downhill walk with him, or a more challenging four mile hike along the Cornwall Coast that would end in Port Issac. We chose the latter and he showed us where to begin, gave us directions to the Coast (it's hard to miss) and told us it would be a challenging two hours. It was and unspeakably beautiful. Just one of many highlights and why we are pleased we chose Dacey. Humor, other tips on where to go or eat, Jim, our excellent driver and raconteur, and the stunning scenery at every turn explain the deserved five star rating. In St.Ives, don't miss the Hepworth Museum and if Dacey says "bring everything you've got" about the trip to the Minack Theater, take him at his word.

What a wonderful adventure

What a wonderful adventure. This is the only way to tour Cornwall. Every detail was attended to. Accommodations were wonderful. Daily tours were outstanding, especially Port Isaac and The Eden Project. We would not have ventured there with out David's tour. Just the right size tour group. David and Jim filled us in on details as we journeyed along. The daily Cornish jokes were fun. Lots of walking, but doable.
The walk out to St Michael's Mount was special. Dacey accommodated every ones abilities. This is the only way see Cornwall.

Dacey's Cornish Tour of Cornwall was an…absolutely fabulous dream experience

Dacey's Cornish Tour of Cornwall was an outstanding experience from before the tour even began due to David's availability to answer any questions and assist in any way so that planning was easy. The itinerary presented looked fabulous and I was expecting it to be a fun experience. My expectations were far exceeded each and every day of the tour due to all of the unexpected surprises along the way that were in-the-moment hapenings. David has an excellent ability to accommodate all fitness levels so that each person could enjoy the unique and beautiful sites. He also strikes a perfect balance between being professional and friendly, favoring no one in particular while really attending to everyone individually.

No matter where we went or what we did there were always choices so that it was truly a custom made trip for all. Between David and Jim, the Cornwall native driver and anecdotal historian extraordinaire, I learned loads of interesting and thought provoking information.

I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who has even only the slightest inclination to see Cornwall. You will be amazed, intrigued and delighted beyond words.

Trip of a lifetime

After falling in love with the TV show "Doc Martin" it was my dream to visit the town the show is filmed. After doing some research I found it is filmed in Port Isaac, a seaside town in Cornwall England. I Google "tour of Port Issac" and found Daceys Tours. After reading the reviews and itinerary and many emails with David, I decided to book my tour.

The trip was beyond what I could have hoped for! Each day was better then the day before! I traveled solo and felt very safe with Dacey's Tours. David and our driver were very accommodating..I felt very spolied! David took care of everything..no need to think and worry; just sit back and enjoy the scenery!

One more check on the bucket list

A year and a half ago, we were on an ocean cruise with a scheduled stop in Falmouth. This was going to be the highlight of the cruise for me; I've always wanted to visit a city in Cornwall. Unfortunately, some storm stirred up the water so violently that the captain of the ship decided to forego that stop. My disappointment became one more thing to put on my bucket list.

Fast forward to January, 2019. We decided to research a tour company that focuses solely on Cornwall. Of course we came across Dacey's Cornish Tours; all the reviews were amazing, the idea of a small tour was really appealing, so we made the commitment. And what an adventure we had!

As so many said, David and Jim really make the tour so much more. David kept the stories coming; the corny Cornish jokes were always a welcome addition in the morning to wake us up! Jim's driving was flawless; so flawless in fact I took more than one nap!

Of course, the real star of the tour is Cornwall itself. The little towns with their winding streets and charming shops. Getting to see one of the "stars" of Doc Martin in Port Isaac. Walking the streets and recognizing the landmarks of the show; the charming harbor and cliffs. From there, the scenery just got better and better. Rolling green hills, sheep and cows grazing and our adventure of seeing Ali Baba at the Minack Theatre all added to the charm.

David gave everyone the freedom to do as they wished and also had plans made at all stops, and a dinner reservation for those who wanted to join in. It's really an ideal way to tour with a group. Small group so everyone got to know everyone. The freedom of choosing to do some activities on our own or staying with the group was ideal.

Anyone reading this and debating about whether to go: GO! Enjoy! Who knows? Maybe we'll be back again with David and Jim. That's how much we LOVED this tour!

Best Trip Ever

We’ve done nearly a dozen European tours and this by far has been the best. David did an outstanding job as tour director as did Jim, our driver. Also we love Doc Martin and I got a picture in Port Isaac with actor John Marques (PC Joe Penhale). We will always remember this tour. We highly recommend this to anyone. Cornwall is beautiful and Dacey’s Tours shows it well.

An Epic Journey Through Cornwall...

Thank you David for guiding, my wife, Lorraine, and I on an epic journey throughout Cornwall, UK. Our first exposure to the region was on the PBS production of “Doc Martin.” Once I learned that the fictitious seaside town of “Port Wenn” was really Port Issac, it was on our bucket list of adventures. We began planning a trip of Cornwall fishing villages that we could tour on our own. Then, one day I did a Google search of the “best escorted tours of Cornwall fishing villages.” The first name, which appeared was for Dacey’s Tours. I carefully read every review, which were stellar 5-Stars. Each one indicated the ease, well-organized, meaningful, magical, and or fabulous food.” We were looking for an escorted tour, where we could pick and choose what excursions suited us best. Guided tours tend to overload the tourist and end up exhausted every day. Less is more...
We couldn’t have been more pleased with each location along the journey. We are foodies and loved every meal, “pastie,” and pub, along the way. Remember, if you’re in Cornwall the clotted cream goes on the scone first before the jam. 😉😉
David is a knowledgeable guide and a sweet man. I miss him greeting us at breakfast each morning with his British “good-mawning,” which almost sounds musical. 🎶🎶
Another reason we selected Dacey’s Cornish Tour was for the value. The accommodations, length of the tour and the many attractions, are well worth the price.

We met a couple in the tour, who have become BFFs and we will be traveling to Cinque Terre, Italy, in the fall. ❤️

If you have any doubts about this friendly tour, where you may just meet lifelong friends, don’t give it another thought. Just book with Dacey’s Cornish Tours, as they fill up pretty fast. Come see for yourself...

Trip of a lifetime...

Trip of a lifetime...knowledgeable, friendly, attentive staff. Scenic, comfortable accommodations. Historical, beautiful, sight-filled agenda. Tips from Dacey and past trip participants on where to eat, what to see. Some structured time, lots of free time. The only thing this trip lacked was more time - why are there only 24 hrs in a day?!

What a fantastic trip we had with…

What a fantastic trip we had with Dacey's Cornish tours! Our sincere thanks to David on such a well organized trip for our group of 14. We started our journey in London and traveled south to Cornwall----which we fell in love with! David and our skilled driver Jim were so accommodating to fulfill our dream taking us to Redruth--the town of our father's birth! This was so meaningful for my sister, brother and nephew as we ventured off the beaten path to spend time with a cousin we were meeting for the first time. The quaint little fishing village of Port Isaac had amazing views and our accommodations that evening at the Longcross Hotel afforded a beautiful sunset. We traveled to St. Ives which had great shops in this oceanside village. A must stop for pasties (as we indulged in many along the way) is the Ferrell Bakery in St. Ives. The Treganna Castle in St. Ives had breathtaking views and top notch amenties. Fowey Hall Hotel was "castle-like" with a relaxing atmosphere. The town of Fowey offered lots of shopping and waterfront dining. As we made our way up north again, David again chose a great hotel in Exeter--QueensCourt! All of our tours along the way were fabulous!
We maximized our trip-- seeing and experiencing so much in London and Cornwall. Many thanks again to David and our driver Jim! We would recommend Dacey's Cornish tours to anyone looking to travel to London and Cornwall! Missing Cornwall already!

One of the best trips you could ever take

When this trip was booked, I was too busy to pay much attention to the itinerary and didn't know what to expect when we climbed on the bus that first day. I have to say that this was one of the most pleasant surprises I have had and our tour guides Dave and Jim were wonderful. Cornwall was breathtakingly beautiful and so full of history. The accommodations were also above and beyond anything I ever expected. I would recommend this trip to anyone and definitely have put a return trip on my bucket list. Deb

A new look at Cornwall

Traveling with David and Jim, our driver gave us a relaxing, enlightening, informative introduction to Cornwall and all the magic it has to offer. David offered us opportunities to explore towns and countryside with him or to choose our own individual activities. The same was true for all our meals - with him or on our own - as we might choose.A tour company that does not lock you into their schedule - what a delicious surprise!

Best tour of Cornwall

Recently used Dacey Cornish Tours for a family ancestral trip to Cornwall. Dave and Jim did a great job showing the whole group of 14 the beautiful Cornwall. They fulfilled a dream of my husband and 2 sister in laws to visit the “cute little town of Redruth”, where their father was born. They are very professional and fun to travel with.
