I bought my Dacia Sandero three years ago and have done just over 30,000 miles. The car itself has been reliable with no serious problems. The issue is with the service plan. I paid for 3 annu... See more

Adblue light
On a return journey from York to Harrogate the Adblue light appeared.
I knew the tank was full as I had checked the day before.
Took it to the garage who put allsorts of tech on it and couldn't understand why it was on.
I phoned CS and spoke to Debra who was extremely helpful. She suggested
booking it into a dealer for a thorough check.
I'm in Harrogate and the neatest dealers are 20 miles away. Otley and Leeds couldn't fit it in until Thursday at the earliest. Brilliant but my warranty would have run out by then and Dacia categorically told me even though the problem occured within warranty if the work was carried out after warranty expired it wasn't covered.
I did ask how I could get the work done when no dealer had space to fit me in.
Sometimes you wonder. Won't be buying another Dacia.

(especially Dacia Trowbridge)
I purchased a 6 month old Dacia Logan and I can see why the previous keeper only kept it for such a short time. In the first year of having the car it has been to the garage 3 times. The last time for a month as they didn’t have a technician that could fix their own car. I was forced to pay (insurance) for a courtesy car. It’s still not right (the last issue was with the locking system which still doesn’t auto lock when driving). When I picked it up I got it home and found a scratch on the bonnet. It wasn’t there when I dropped it off (which they confirm) but I saw it when I got home. I recommend thoroughly checking your car when collecting it as they refuse to accept when they’ve damaged it. Each time they have it for repair they say ‘it may not be covered by warranty’ so leaving me to worry for a month that I’ll have a £1000+ bill at the end of it. A very stressful and disappointing service.
I see the adblue pump whine is still…
I see the adblue pump whine is still there on current duster diesels but CS at Dacia say it doesn’t exist) crazy people… listen to your front line dealers Dacia they know it exists CS sipping tea on the end of a phone doesn’t have a clue.
I feel sorry for the good dealers having to play piggy in the middle with their hands tied by Dacia UK.
Got a cracking deal at Suzuki, won’t be back to Renault/Dacia.
I received outstanding customer service…
I received outstanding customer service from Jas at the call centre. She took great trouble to investigate my issue, to sort it out, and then to call me back after it had been resolved to check that everything was now ok.
Bad experience
Bad experience, car fine until first MOT / service as warranty ran out, came back with wipers, heater/fan not working, lights would not switch off in sunshine, etc, Had to pay repair cost, part covered by Dacia, but cannot get the faulty parts to have tested, clearly not fit for purpose, only done 6k miles now Dacia refuse to answer, wrote the Renault CEO no reply, if you want good after sales service don't choose Dacia!!
Dacia Extended Warranty
Purchased a 7 year extended warranty at a cost of £395 and it proved to be money completely wasted. They seem to make up the rules as they go along. I understood when buying that exhaust pipes and silencers are excluded, but they have extended that to include a rubber pipe leading to a filter on the grounds that rubber is perishable and not covered in the final year of a warranty. The warranty wording makes absolutely no mention of any such a condition but they rely on the weasel words phrase "but not limited to" when referring to excluded items. I am left with the impression that Dacia Warranty will go to any lengths to reject claims, no matter how inventive and unethical. Definitely a product to be avoided.
Fantastic service from start to finish…
Fantastic service from start to finish with the purchase of my new Dacia Stepway,
Paul Law went the extra mile to keep me up to date would highly recommend Renault Dacia Romford to anyone.

Delivery update for my Stepway Prestige bi fi fue
I ordered a Stepway Prestige bi fuel on 5th November. I've tried to obtain an updated delivery.
Impossible to email customer services.
Clutch Judder Warranty.
Cluth judder is a defect that Dacia refuse to recognise, the warranty is not worth the paper its printed on. I purchased my Stepway new in December 2018, the judder started at 4,000 miles, it went in to my local dealer three times who said they could find nothing wrong. I insisted it went to another dealer who told me the clutch was faulty but not covered by warranty. When I spoke to the service manager he said the same as my local dealer that it could be my driving( I have driven for 50 years and never experienced clutch issues) they must have a handout with what to say to customers who experience this fault. I was going to purchase a new one this year but I would never purchase from them again, I have it serviced by a local garage who told me that they are well known for having this fault its known in the trade as the Dacia "cold start syndrome" I have put three friends and relatives of purchasing Dacia or Renault and will continue to do so, if you are considering - don't you will regret it if you have warranty issues.
Give Dacia automatics a miss as they just aren't available despite what the advertising states.
Masters of Beckenham were glad to take my order for a new Dacia Stepway Automatic & a deposit just before Christmas 2021 & advised 3 month delivery (March 2022). Had a subsequent e-mail early in January 2022 advising that delivery had gone out to mid/late April. Received an e-mail today advising that Masters of Beckenham were closing down on 29th April & as my car was now due mid/late June they wouldn't be able to supply it but were willing to transfer the order to another (undefined) dealership. Firstly this is the first I've been advised that delivery has gone out again & secondly surely they must have known they were scheduled to close down in April when they accepted my order in December 2021 & thirdly delivery has now gone out from the original quoted 3 months to 6 months. What a way to treat a new customer. Very dubious business practices. Dacia are advertising the fact that they now can supply cars with automatic gearboxes but try & buy one - no chance. Dacia's might be cheap but delivery and service are in the negative!
Very pleased with my 67 plate duster…
Very pleased with my 67 plate duster until out of warranty my local garage did its mot and service it turns out you can't reset the service and engine light unless you go to a Dacia dealer Very underhand business practice head ffice didn't want to know Sadly they have hturned a very satisfied customer into one that would not go near the brand again
Dacia Sandero - Recurring Starter / Ignition Fault
Leased a new 2018 registered Dacia Sandero at the end of January 2019. In October 2020 the starter motor failed, preceded by a clicking noise. It was annoying to have a new car fail so soon, however I guess these things happen. The starter motor was replaced by the dealer - Arnold Clark, Hillington, Glasgow. 6th June 2021 exactly the same thing happened again. Clicking noise while the car was running then the next time I went to drive it the car wouldn’t start. So, I went onto the Dacia forums and saw that many people reported experiencing the same problem. In addition, the RAC mechanic who picked the car up told me that he has seen the same issue with many Dacia Stepways. I expressed my concern to the dealer that this was a recurring fault. Contacted Dacia also to advise the same. The starter motor was replaced a second time. In September 2021, I was driving the car and noticed the clicking sound again. I contacted Dacia. It took them over 4 weeks to reply. When they did, they referred me back to the dealer. By this time, it is November, and the car is due to go for it’s MOT. I asked the dealer to check out the fault and advised them I was concerned the same thing was about to happen again. They said it was fine – no fault found. Fast forward to today, 20th Jan 2022. It has happened again. Last night I heard the clicking sound while car was running (I now know this is the starter turning over) and the key was sticky in the ignition when I was switching the engine off. The forums show both of these things as known faults with these cars and in fact some models were recalled because of the ignition issue. The faulty ignition switch engages the motor with the engine running and wrecks the starter motor. Contacted Arnold Clark today and they say they can’t help me. They take no responsibility for not been able to diagnose the fault three times. Dacia have each time referred me back to the dealer. Let’s see what happens next. To sum up, I would not recommend buying a Dacia unless you are happy with a poor quality car and poor customer service.
PCP buyers beware.
Unlike a lot of reviews, I haven't had any mechanical issues during the last three years of ownership of my Duster 4x4. My gripe is with their PCP contract. You would assume that if you take delivery of your new vehicle on the first of the month, then a 3 year PCP deal would expire the day before the third anniversary? Not so sadly. The date used is the 3rd anniversary of the date that the FIRST payment is made, in most, and certainly our case, this was 28 days later. This matters as you need to have the car MOT'd and potentially would need extend your car insurance to cover this additional period of time. Whilst this may be in the very small print, it's certainly not made clear at the time you take the finance out and pick up your car. The only way around this is to arrange to have the car returned before the final payment, allowing the collection company a good 2-3 weeks to arrange collection. If the vehicle requires an MOT at collection and doesn't have one, they won't take it unless you pay the approx £250:00 for a low loader to collect. First and last time I'll be using Dacia Finance for sure.
These cars are a liability
These cars are a liability. Bought a 4x4 duster with 60k on the clock, good service history from a dealer. Car was just 3 years old. By 80k I’ve been recovered 3 times, wasted hours on every conceivable warning light coming on. Took it for mot at 80k to be told the engine is scrap, needs shock absorbers and some 4X4 sensor parts. To add insult to injury, after the dealer had washed it I noticed rust bubbles on the rear wheel arch. Complained to Dacia, they’re not interested. So after 20k driving I’m left with a vehicle only fit for scrap. You get what you pay for with these cars, maybe ok brand new with dealer backup.
Their website does not work the pages…
Their website does not work the pages barely load and you can’t just build and buy a new car online, they have lost a sale from me
Late delivery!
Ordered and paid for and did deal for my brand new Dacia Sandero stepway on 12th July 2021.
It is now Thursday 16th December and although I received the registration document for said vehicle on 17/11 and I was informed it was in the country on 7/11, I still await delivery.
Customer services for Dacia UK have been as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
If I could give a minus star result for…
If I could give a minus star result for Dacia I would! What appalling customer service, useless warranty, undrivable cars. I would not pay £10 for one!
So we ran a fleet of 6 of these for 3 years because they seemed to be good value at the time. Sadly from within 6 months the drivers seats started to collapse, then all the lights came on and power failed.
Each week we had a car in the garage because of an issue with the mechanical components and or the seats.
Please do not waste your hard earned money on these poor excuses for a reliable vehicle!
After buying a second hand car sandero…
After buying a second hand car sandero from Bury motors with low mileage in April unfortunately in November 3 weeks out of warranty the car needed a new starter motor. We contacted bury motors who said there was nothing they could do as we were just out of warranty. The car was towed to our local garage. I contacted Dacia directly who said they could not contribute as we didn’t take the car to a Dacia dealership even though bury motors said there was nothing they could do. The car has only done 46000 miles and a starter motor is supposed to last at least 150000 miles. I would AVOID buying a Dacia completely
No service and a useless warranty
No service and a useless warranty. 6400 miles on the clock and the exhaust fell off my Duster. LocaL dealer, Derby, quoted 4 weeks as the earliest they will look at the car. Next nearest, Burton on Trent, will not look at it at all. Dacia head office seem unable to get things moving. I have a car I need for work that I can not dive, and a warranty worth nothing. This is my third, but my last ever Renault Dacia. Getting my vehicle fixed independently isn't possible because Dacia will not release parts to non-Dacia dealers.
